  • Welcome to Oslo, Norway's amazing capital. In this comprehensive city guide, I will take you to the top-10 highlights you need to check out when you visit Norway's capital city, and at the end, I'll provide some additional travel tips on travel times, currency, transport, safety and more that you may find useful for your next visit of Oslo.
Oslo serves as a gateway to some of Norway's most breathtaking natural wonders, including the fjords, mountains, and coastal areas. And many Norway visitors may arrive at Oslo's international airport, directly heading into the spectacular nature, stunning natural landscapes, fjords, forests, and mountains of the vast country. But Oslo is worth spending some time in too. Despite its relatively small size, Oslo boasts a vibrant and diverse urban culture. The city is home to trendy neighborhoods, world-class museums, galleries, and historical sites, and hip cafes. Oslo consistently ranks as one of the world's most livable cities, thanks to its high quality of life, excellent healthcare and education systems, low crime rates, and abundance of green spaces.

Thank you Dina, I mainly used the electric scooters to get around. It’s a very convenient way to explore the city center

Thank you for this guide of Oslo with stressing the highlights. The video gives a good idea of the Capital of Norway. I like your Grand Norway Road Trip showing the unique beauty of this country. Very impressive is reaching the Nordcap, the North point of Europe.

How long would you recommend and if just using local transport, any day trips? Great videos as always 👍

      Thank you!
The easiest would be a cruise on the Oslo fjord. Alternatively, you could take a train all the way to Bergen and back, possibly stopping in Flam. But for that, it may make sense to stay the night in Bergen and return back to Oslo the next day.
2 days in Oslo are enough if you want to see all major highlights.

Hi Janus. I have a question a bit off topic. Where did you get the music for this video and could you list it please? On a related topic, I’m hoping to go to Norway for the northern lights this winter and a trip to Oslo is in order. Thank you for the recommendations and keep ‘em coming. Good quality as always.

Thank you Michael! The music selection is from Artlist. I’ve started to use them fairly recently (since my Iceland video) as I really like the quality and diversity of tracks. It’s a fee based service but all their tracks can be listened to for free online. Safe travels to Norway, I’m sure you’ll have a great time there 👍
