    Pål, as someone who can speak, read, and write Norwegian, and has visited Norway more than 40 times, I loved this video. I have been to most of the spots you featured, but you educated me further and I learned about a couple places I have to visit the next time I am in Oslo. Norway has a unique, layered, and complex history and culture, and it's important to preserve and value it. I can see that you love your culture and it's refreshing to see.

    I lived in Oslo for 13 years and I've been at these places except for the Munch scream viewpoint and Vettakollen. I've been around Nordmarka and Østmarka on skis on bike and by foot. My 'secret' is not a place but about timing. In the summer I've often driven to Huk after work. at 17pm there are few people there but the water in the fjord is still nice and warm. It's a lovely place to go walking or jogging even if the temperature is low.

    As a Norwegian I didn’t even know that pølsebod was even a thing until watching these types of videos. I live in Oslo, and wouldn’t normally pay attention, but I was at the sofa company 2 weeks ago, and then looked across the street and saw that specific sausage/hotdog stand, and I was like: “omg there it is” and wondered how many of its customers were tourists🤣🤣🤣 I don’t like sausages so didn’t get any.

    • @norwaywithpal
      @norwaywithpal  Před měsícem

      I guess there are no warm places during the winter, but there are places that are less cold. Typically these are the coastal areas, from Bergen and further south towards the very south of Norway.

    • @kilipaki87oritahiti
      @kilipaki87oritahiti Před měsícem +1

      Due to climate change and global warming summers are hotter and dryer, whilst winters are less cold, and more wet. Coastal and inlet villages, towns and cities are usually more mild than inland. But you have the cold winds that often make it seem more cold than it is. Tbh it’s not the cold that’s bad, but all the ice. Spikes are must haves here…

    Cmon man, Huldra is not a female troll and Munc view point is actually several meters higher, on the bridge.

    • @norwaywithpal
      @norwaywithpal  Před 8 dny

      Huldra is often described as a tusse, it comes from old Norse þurs eller þuss, which means troll. So I think female troll is a fairly good description to the general public, but I can understand it might not be satisfactory to a Huldra expert such as you.
      Btw. Nobody really knows exactly where Munch (you forgot the H) actually stood/walked when he was struck with a sudden terror. But I think for a visitor to Oslo it’s nice to see the frame art work and read the description on the plaque which is there. Again, I understand this might not be satisfactory to a Munch expert like you ✌️
