Garage Door Cable Replacement & Spring Adjustment!

Come along while I try to figure out why this garage door lost cable tension, as well as figure out the right amount of tension for this garage door!

Are you talking about the monitor or adding tension to the springs? The monitor i probably won’t be able to do, the adding tension of course! i’m a couple of videos ahead but i’ll try to do it asap

@@tcgaragedoor , glad you asked , it is about adding tension safely because i am afraid to add too much tension and something bad happens.

@@eloimumford5247 if you aren’t confident there is no reason to not call someone. Sure it will cost you money but it will be cheaper than medical bills. now if you want to change them yourself a good rule of thumb is the height of the door in springs. so if you have a 7’ door you add 7 full winds. always remember to Vice grip the door down, for safety. make sure it’s extra tight, if you are nervous use 2 vice grips, i can hold up a door with no tension with 2 vice grips.

@@tcgaragedoor , you are so right , in fact we have a rendez-vous with installer next week as soon the construction holidays finish. The tructh is that i tried last week , before calling the expert , and the vise grip made a trip of 15 feet across the garage , hopefully i was out of the trajectory. Respect of your work and advice.
