New Shock Absorber Set from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASS...
Shock absorbers help your vehicle stay stable and safe. Signs of worn out shocks are knocking or bumping noises, loose handling, or a bouncy or bumpy ride. The typical service life of a shock absorber is 50,000 miles, depending on conditions. TRQ shocks and struts are engineered to fit your vehicle perfectly. This video shows you how to install shock absorbers on your 1999-2007 Chevy Silverado.

Not a bunch of extra filler, just the pertinent details including charging, well done.
Best videos for DYI mechanic work 👌 I love this guy and his attention to detail and thought out explanation.
And if you live in and around the rust belt always a good idea to put anti-seize on the lower shock bolt as well as your wheel studs
Wowser. This guy is the best when it involves needless babble. He has no needless babble. Just the facts ma'am. Badass DIY sir!
I just replaced the front shocks on my Silverado 1500 4x4 but it has a 2” leveling kit on the front. I had to put the truck on the ground with wheels on to get the shock bolt far enough through the top. Am I going to rip these shocks apart when the truck goes over big bumps? They don’t seem long enough.
nice and to the point, no dumb ass music, no Entro of trucks doing burn outs ect.
So my 06 silverado 1500 single cab WT has springs too...what do?
nice and to the point, just bought this stuff today
coolest locking plyers ive ever seen
+Jason Swartz Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Great concise video. What make/model of locking pliers are those? I'm having trouble finding ones that can fit in there.
Champion!
What's up with the springs?
Why didn't you put the second nut back on the top of the shock?
My 2004 Chevy Silverado has coilers is that normal?
Thank you guys for the great videos! You've been extremely helpful to me!
I just put brand new shocks on my truck Is shakes your gutts out on interstate and I can feel every bump on road what can it be
Thank you very much, Thank's to your video I save 700 dollars 💵
I have a 2002 chevy 1500 and it has a spring and bolts from the bottom
This video is perfect
Where are the springs?
U can do it without the springs just gonna have less room to work but same process
Thanks for the help 👍
Does this work for a 2004 gmc sierra
That must be a 4x4 version because on my 05 Silverado reg 2wd the design on the bottom uses 2 much smaller bolts that are put in vertically. Torqued to 18ft lbs I later found out. I should of rewatched the vid the same day before breaking the bolts☹️
Are u supposed to tighten the top nut all the way while lifted up or when you lower it?
what wrench size for top nuts please? real good video thanks
15 mm
14 mm for the new shock. My old was 15mm new 14 mm
I’m in trouble. I can’t find the veeer-icle 😮
My 02 Avalanche had the same Gabriel shocks. Wonder if Chevy was using them stock that year.
Great advise
Why are all the cars they work on always so rusty
Your awsome!
So what happens if you over torque the top stud
id imagine youd just ruin that bushing much faster than if it were properly torqued
Try to avoid doing that
Where are the front springs?
What if you don’t have pound measurer?
I know this comment is a year old but harbor freight sells torque Wrenches for fairly cheap that will get the job done
Vericle
What is torque spec for rear shock bolts?
Good n tight
@@nickhale117 good ol German torque specs “Güdentite”
65 foot pound
Where's the coil over lmao.
These trucks use torsion bar front suspension
this video does not cover shocks in side of spring
I'm almost certain he did this wrong. My silverado front shocks are not like that at all. That goes in the middle Of a spring in mine
My 06 crew 4x4 has just the shock. I think it may have to do with the torsion suspension.
@@cotyleavitt4317 mine is a 2wd also and I think it's pretty much the same just unscrew the 2 nuts on the bottom and the shock still comes out the bottom only difference is you have less room to work with most of these guys have 4wd trucks the rest of us lil guys have 2wd loll
charge it up? lol wut
This is the rear not the front
I need magneride shocks for 1500HD 2003
