Biggest piece of advice I have for anybody doing this is do the idler arm with the bracket together, remove them together as one piece and install them outside of the truck together then install together. Do it like that and the whole job should take you less than an hour, it's not worth splitting the idler arm from the bracket to save $40
Thank you, my son and I just replaced his idler arm today. Now we are on to the pitman arm.
How was the Pittman? I'm tackling it right now
Thanks for taking the time to make these videos Nice to see the job before ripping into it
You have explained and made the process of my job much easier, Thank you!
Great video. Just ordered one for my Denali. The steering felt like an 80’s Chevy and after jacking up the truck to check for play I realized my idler arm had a massive amount of play. Like the drag link could move 1/4-1/2” when moving the wheel side to side. Looks pretty easy from the video. I hope I can get the idler arm to seperate from the drag link that easy.
Looks easy. Thanks for including torque specs
I like how you show real life examples like the bolts being rusted out
+Miguel Garcia jr Thanks for the feedback! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
I was looking for the torque specs for attaching the idler arm to the idler arm pivot bracket but watching this I felt simultaneously grateful and silly. LOL I immediately realized that with the need for the Allen head driver, there is no way you could get a torque wrench on the nut! Duh!! 🙂 Thanks for another great video!
great video and well explained
Good job excellent God bless thanks bro learning olot from this videos
Great video, very imformative
Thank you!

Nice job!
How did you pop that bolt out so easily?!? After you put the pieces of wood between it took you one hit and it popped out. I can't seem to get mine to move
Great job 👏🏼 man, thanks for making this video
+Steven Twiddy Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ

Thanks!

watched this twice and getting ready to tackle the job... somehow I'm thinking it's gonna take me more than 6 minutes...lol
What else did you end up breaking
@@copelingilliand6885 🤣🤣
What are torque specs of it all, u should add that into your videos. Thank you for being straight to point
Hi TRQ, does it have a zirk fitting? If so what size because mine has a hole but can not find the proper zirk fitting to grease it..
Came here to find the torque spec for the idler arm nut. Everything else has a torque spec but the idler arms torque spec is nice and tight lol nice.
Can I do this job and also the pitman arm while the truck is on the ground?
Is there an official torque spec for the idler arm to the bracket?
WOW. Took no time at all to remove!
Are pitman arms only on 4WD trucks? I can't seem to find mine unless I'm just blind
Do you have to add grease to the idler arm?
I'm not sure what I'm seeing, but at 0:35 when you're taking off a 21mm nut, it looks like your impact is spinning clockwise?? Is that a reverse thread?
Does this repair require the tires to be off the ground?
What’s the reason for those parts to be replaced or what was the issue?
Anyone know if a 2wd 04 Tahoe has 3 or 4 groove?
How long should this take for a shop to do along with a pitman arm ?
+sadie63 The installation should take a little less than a hour.
@@TRQ lol the be like 5 hours for 1350 . Can I get bolts on n off by hand
only supposed to bend one side of the pin.
So the idler arm is on the pass side and the pitman on the drivers right
Correct
Ohhhh…. We’ll I definitely order 2 sets of the idler arm and pitman arm…
I thought there was 2 of each🤦🏽♂️
03 silverado z71 what spline count is mine?
Usually a 3 or 4 spline
Did the truck kinda bounce and shake the front end over bumps before replacing the idler arm?
Mine did. Especially going downhill when I hit the brakes. Most people think warped rotors first when that happens but alot of times it is a bad idler arm.
bouncing is shock absorbers. idle arm is more throwing the truck side to side with the sway of the road
Oh yes! I wondered why now I know!
Anybody have one of these videos for a 2018 3500
Are these guys out of Europe?
