    Great video! I love the CC stick. I’ve been using it for a couple weeks and I always use my fingers to apply it, instead of using the stick directly. I’ve noticed that I don’t need hardly any concealer and my eye puffiness has diminished considerably!

      I'm going to try that with the stick! Thanks for the tip!

    I use this sunscreen, it’s not supposed to leave such cast to be honest. I don’t apply at once, I’d apply half of that amount first and then apply the rest so I’d build it up slowly. This way it doesn’t leave any cast at all on me. Also Vit C leaves a very radiant nice look on the face. Once it fully absorbs it doesn’t leave greasy either.

    Kiki lols, I just bought my first sunscreen ever last week-Beauty of Joeson. Honestly now that I’m in my 50s and paying attention to my skin, I think I love experimenting with skincare products more than all the new cosmetics in my stash.
    Skincare is so important! I look at you without makeup, and I’m stunned every time. You look beautiful! The cosmetics just enhance what you already have.
    I’m hoping that happens for me this year. Penny’s channel is amazing, same with Dr. Dray.
    I did just purchase neck and dec products to firm and retexturize. Penny said they’re amazing. I think the brand is Dermelect, and she has a huge discount through her channel right now. I’ll let you know how it goes!
    Xx 🌷🧡

    I think you're OK on the SPF amount. 1/2 tsp is needed for face and neck, not just face. The Ole Henriksen line makes me nervous because I've been under the impression that citrus extracts, and essential oils which presumably includes citrus oil, are triggers for skin reactions and possibly sunburn. As for active Vitamin C, which would be an antioxidant, I can't see how it would stay active in a squeezy tube for 4-6 weeks or however long it would take to go through it. I'll follow your report with interest.
    The other products look interesting, thank you for trying them out!

    • @TheHoodedLid
      @TheHoodedLid  Před rokem

      I noted in the video that we either have to assume they are doing steam distillation for the citrus or we get in touch and ask them, because, yes, citrus and sun are dangerous. I think I also addressed (but might not have kept it in the video for the sake of brevity, L-ascorbic is the active form of C but they are using different kinds of C that are not as beneficial, but are stable. Great for sensitive skin that can't hand l-ascorbic but for me, I continue using my C Serum when I use these kinds of products.

      If I use a thick sunscreen I put half the amount on my face and once is soaked in I put the other half on.

      @@TheHoodedLid Thank you for the clarification! It's too bad that we consumers have to become chemists, just to select effective heatlhcare products, which SPF is. Still I'm glad how much better the selection is today compared to 20 years ago.

    The sunscreen for me is absolutely beautiful-I love it so so much-unfortunately because of the vitamin c I can’t use it as it breaks me out. I haven’t found any form of vitamin c yet that doesn’t do that to me. But if vitamin c doesn’t do that to you I highly recommend this spf to ppl. I also love the color stick in the light yellow shade under my eyes because it’s so moisturizing it works great for my dry under eyes. It’s not great if you have really dark circles to cover, but if you just want a light color correcting then it’s awesome!

    i didn’t realize people could be allergic to sunscreen ingredients but that’s good to know!
    i ordered the Kosas serum spray too and can’t wait for it to arrive 🤩. i think i will end up using it instead of the Merit serum bc it’s hands free 🤗
    appreciate the extra product/skincare knowledge including sun protection!
    p.s. Cheri Voyage was raving about the orange creamsicle lip product from Ole Henriksen so i think i grabbed it from the sale too 😝

    Hell no to that sunscreen! It may dry down quickly but it looked a nightmare to put on even after you’d used some of it down your neck. I use the NIOD superoxide dismutase … spray, and find that it lasts much longer if i spray into to my hands and then pat into the skin instead of releasing it to the air! Gorgeous final look 😊😊

    Hi Kiki, Karla, 62. I purchased the Ol Hendrickson in Apricot and absolutely am loving it. I find it hydrating on my dehydrated under eyes and really helps in my troughs. Ive actually been using it and not really using a concealer. I do not understand why every concealer I purchase ( high end) is so drying. I watched yours and Tamara’s reviews on the new serum foundation, but of course they are sold out on 120. Lol. Hopefully they will restock soon and email me. Thank you for your in depth reviews

      I use the Ole the same way! Often I put some on and go on to other things, when I come back to my eyes I think, "hmmm....I don't think I'll need concealer" - Especially on natural days when I'm using something like Jones Road of just a tinted sunscreen.

    That sunscreen looked awful when you were applying it but it looks like it settled down nicely. Did you ever pick up the Sephora Favorites Sun Safety set? i got it this year, for $39 you get so many deluxe samples and a couple of full sized sunscreens, it’s great for trying a bunch of sunscreens. I learned about it from one of the subreddits. Apparently they do it every year. Anyway you look great, thanks for the video!

    I don’t know that I’ll try the sunscreen. The ISDIN is 11% zinc and I feel like that might be where I top out. I just ordered a sunscreen from Cult Beauty because I’m curious about products we can’t get in the US. I wore it yesterday and really liked it. There’s also a tinted sunscreen I picked up that I REALLY liked on my first application. The under eye brightener looks very interesting - I always need one of those.

    You've got me curious about the Givenchy concealer! I did pick up the Tom Ford stick during the Sephora sale, but haven't had a chance to try it. Which concealer do you prefer? The Bobbi Brown corrector stick is perfect for me on days when I am running out the door without makeup. I have to try the Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Stick, too.

    • @TheHoodedLid

      Because of my "trough" the TF is better with that are where the skin rubs and has fuller cover. But the Givenchy looks so skin-like that I use that quite often as well.

    • @TheHoodedLid
      @TheHoodedLid  Před rokem +1

      I haven't tried the CT. While you can use the Kosas as a setting spray to meld everything together, it's actually a spray-serum. I think the CT might be quite different.
