I understand that this is years late, but I have managed to solve the problem depicted in this video. The solution is as follows. 1. Separate the handle/wand from the rest of the vacuum by slipping something very thin (I used a thin screwdriver) between the front of the outer wand housing and the next layer in. (I am assuming the hose was already removed.) 2. Remove the dark grey end of the suction tube from the lighter grey part and remove the tube through the top. 3. Press the two tabs on the side of the wand housing to free the connected part inside and remove it from the bottom. 4. The spring goes with the complete clear ring (which now came out). Place it on the x-shaped nib on the inside. This ring goes back on top of the two-tabbed grey piece you removed. 5. The other clear piece (that had previously fallen out) goes in the slot of the two-tabbed grey piece with the outer-most slanted part facing up. This means that the widest part of this slanted part will end up being down. Looking at the slanted piece inside this part, it should make sense that the dark gray part of the tube will slide the clear piece outward. 6. Replace the two-tabbed grey piece into the wand housing. 7. Re-insert and assemble the suction tube. 8. Replace the hose. You're done! This is the order in which I did things. It may make sense to take apart and remove the suction tube first to give better access for getting the wand off the body.
@@roxanneesp I'm not much for making videos, I don't have either the set up or the skill for them. The guy who made the one we are commenting under did a pretty good job showing the problem. If you just read my description, it seems like it would be hard to follow, but when you are looking at the parts of the assembly, I think it will not be so hard. Things like the x-shaped nib and two-tabbed gray piece are hard to imagine but easy to recognize. The hardest part of the whole process for me was deciding which way the clear ring that had fallen out was to go back in. Once I figured out that the slant needs to face up and not down, the reassembly was fairly simple. After struggling to find how to fix this, I am not eager to take mine apart again to make a video.
I have the same problem. I took the hose off. Spring and plastic piece fell off. I thought I put it together right but now cannot get the handle to disengage from the body. Very frustrating.
I have the same plastic piece and spring that fell out of the handle as I was taking it apart to try to remove a plugged hose. There is also a clear piece that is still on the aluminum shaft. I am not sure how the two clear pieces and the spring all go back together. Any help would be appreciated.
I have the same issue. I did not find the small loose pieces like you did, but my wand is stuck. Did you determine how to correct the problem? Please let me (and others) know with a followup or reply with the solution.
Thank you for sharing!

Any chance you can make a video on this process? You are the only source I found for this part. Please??

I managed to fixed mine when it did this :)
Absolutely lots of help, Paul. You fixed it. Would have been nice if you said HOW.
put the hose back on first and it will retract....some thing on hose presses the wand release.....took me a wile to figure this out too!
same problem here did you get it fixed
