What you are describing is an absent father. Being a good father is mire then sending money. Also unless you are providing upper class levels of money you aren't providing enough money to afford a full-time nanny , cook and maid and need to manage the kids lives/household. Being a homemaker is three jobs in one and you don't get time off/vacation or closing hours it's a 24/7/365 job.

I was married and there are times where ur having lots of sex & times of less sex. Most marriages probably work along those lines. Marriage has waves, it has its own rhythm. The fun (& difficulty) is working it out together & growing together whilst doing so

Me n the Mrs been together 13yrs with 2 kids 12&7 , last 2 years gained a 2nd address so we sometimes sleep apart (me at the 2nd address) sometimes we’re all at the 2nd address or we split the kids when it gets loud. She agrees it’s much better.

Agreed. People like to reference the old times when kings and lords etc would sleep in separate beds from their wives. They forget those weren’t love marriages. They married for status and income. Only the couples who were in love tended to sleep in the same bed but that was rare.

I dont agree, intimacy is important but doesn't take presidency over everything else you have in your relationship. some people sex drives peak and fall off this is normal. I wouldn't expect my partner to have sex with me just because I want it. if her sex drive has peaked and it means we have sex twice a year then it is what it is. Mr and Mrs we are a solid unit only thing that is missing is sex, they can still continue to be solid.

Bro, I wish I had to the mic skills to create a podcast, just to talk about the up and downs of being in a relationship for more than a decade... These man brought up some solid points. I might have to school you bros on some things though still. Some of the things a modern relationship goes through over that period of time, might sound unbelievable to the majority.

What would you say has worked for you relationship wise? What advice would you give?
@@CYaya88 it might sound cliche but I'd say communication, compromise, cooperation, and patience has made mine work. Don't get it twisted though, it hasn't been a smooth sail even with all that. But yeah, I think a lot of people don't know how and when to talk through issues. Definitely see a lot of people not know what should and shouldn't be compromised. And you have to work as a unit. Of course, you have your own separate lives, but should never neglect the fact that you are building a life together too. And as for patience, it is knowing that it's a marathon. You can't always rush. Rush yourself or the other person. But it also links to compromise. In fact, all those things tie in with one another. Feel like I'm ranting. I could give a tedtalk lol. There's so many nuances and depths I can go into... Almost forgot a huge piece is knowing and loving yourself. Feeling complete in yourself. Your partner is an bonus/addition to you, not what should make you whole. Loving yourself is the foundation. Your love for each other is house that's built on those foundations.
