E-WASTE RESCUE - Sharp PC-4600 Portable

I just got one of these, I haven't took a look at it as of yet. Looks to have a bad LCD screen.

That sucks, it's probably pretty difficult to find a replacement :(. If you wanted to get real adventurous, you might be able to find a modern LCD of similar size to replace it. You probably couldn't drive it with the existing controller though. The screen housing is so thick, you could fit a modern VGA to LCD controller behind the new LCD, solder wires to the VGA out port. That would be a huge project, but would be pretty cool I think!

@@rebootretro So I powered it up last night for the first time and everything was great for about 5 seconds. Then what I'm guessing was a tantalum cap self-immolated. Easy fix. :)
