Nice video. I actually have the wired cruiser. Bought it new in August 2023. Here are my thoughts on owning this bike and some pros/cons…
Pros: it’s a powerful bike and awesome at hill climbing. Its overall top speed is impressive. I topped it at 35 mph on flat ground in pedal assist 5 and 7th gear. It’s a big and substantial bike and feels safe in a bike lane on a busy road, when cars are whipping by you at speed. I can climb hills using throttle only and sustain 25mph. I don’t sweat getting over hills and the fat tires eat up any kind of terrain. I added a rear basket to the rack and this a great bike to do errands. Get groceries, etc. I’ve put 30lbs of dog food a few times, and no problem getting home. No problem on a windy day. This bike in many ways can replace your car for getting to work, get groceries, do errands, etc.
Cons: it’s heavy. Mine tops out at 90 lbs. new one is over a 100lbs with the extra battery they are offering. You definitely feel that weight riding around. Makes it hard to do tight turns ,like on a shared path where I have to weave around walkers, kids, dogs, other people on bikes. I really have to slow down on shared pathways. No way I can pedal and move without being in at least pedal assist 1. This is not a fitness e-bike. Its weight and size is substantial. Can’t load it into your car. Would need help lifting it into a pickup. That’s really the only negative is how heavy and cumbersome it is. Fat tires are nice for any terrain, but I’ve also gotten two flats. And had to do my own repair on both tires.
I’ve upgraded the inner tubes in both tires to thicker rubber and added flat out to both. Hopefully I won’t get another flat, because walking and pushing the bike home is no bueno! Prepare to do maintenance on it, because it’s hard to find a shop that will work on it. I’m learning as I go. I’ve already replaced both inner tubes, installed new shifter and cable. And tuned in the derailleur. I do weekly checks and maintenance on mine. I use it for commuting to work and errands.
I also have a velotric t1 st, which is 36lbs and considered a fitness e-bike. No throttle. So it’s all pedal assist with 350 w rear hub moter that peaks to 650w. I’m actually faster on pathways because it’s nimble, and I can take turns at higher speed. Can weave around people and things much easier. But this is a fitness e-bike and I do get a great workout with it.
Anyways, hope this helps for anyone reading this.
Thanks for you input as an owner with experience on this bike, appreciate it.
Thanks for your comments. They are helpful. I also have a Velotric T1ST and use it as my fitness bike. Great bike but I wanted a ebike suv so I purchased a Ecells five star. It get delivered today. I'm hoping to like it as much as the Velotric.
I have the 2024 cruiser pre-update model and use it almost exclusively on logging roads and dirt trails,I added a NEX Suntour seat post and it works fine, the power from the 60V system is great when you unexpectedly come to a steep rutted hill with no room to build up any speed before taking on the hill. I have no regrets for buying the cruiser model and am loving it.
I have a Freedom on order. Ordered it May 23rd, 2024. Here it is on June 25th and don't have any shipping date yet. So expect a longer delay than what they are saying on there web site when you order them.
Wired bikes have the power of a moto style ebike (like the ariel rider xclass) properly put into a bike style frame
My new E-Cells 5-star is coming in today I'm so excited! Been researching these new 60v bikes for a while and I can't wait to test out the capabilities of these powerful bikes! I remember back when the super73 was the word on the street. Technology changes so fast now so get in on the fun now!
I like the fact that we are seeing more 60v e-bikes.
Agreed Mark. At $2250 tough to beat. I have the 24 single and one of the big hills I go up I put it on cruise and just fly up it.
The cruiser with the rear suspension is somewhat rare for that style and is a hot seller.
I have an Ecells Five Star arriving on Saturday. I researched for about six months before I purchased. I looked into Wired Freedom but decided Ecells was a much better value. With a coupon code I purchased my Ecells for $1895 no tax and free shipping. This new version comes with four piston hydraulic brakes and 203mm rotors. The motor is rated 1500 watts, 2500 peak power with 140+NM of torque. The motor also comes with steel reinforced gears to deal with all that torque. The bike frame comes with a lifetime warranty, the motor and battery come with a two year warranty. I saw a CZcams video showing a problem the Wired Freedom has... frame wobble... because of the four link rear suspension. The Ecells Five Star has a stiffer more rigid frame, no wobble. Its also my understanding that Wired Freedom copied Ecells frame design, not the other way around. Ecells the company is great! They have people that actually answer the phone and their customer service is really good as far as I can tell. Shipping was very fast as well. It's my honest opinion that the Ecells Five Star is the most bang for the buck, bad to the bone, ebike you can buy right now.
Wise move...E Cells is worlds better than Wired. I got the Dual Star from E Cells. What also sets them apart is the many options you can go in designing your bike. What other company installs the tannus liners on a double rim, and upgraded fork with a booming light! Moreover, their customer service is the absolute best. Their instructional videos are the best in the biz. Wired motor hentach won't even insure as it is amped out of a safe range. Gonna be sad when their motor and controller fry lol....DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE E Cells is the much better ride...and yah they have a brand new step thru with your name on it Mark
@@TheOceanMan-xc7qpThanks man... I forgot to mention the Ecells potted 40+Amp controller that's filled with a thermal gel to reduce heat. It also comes with heat sinks on the box itself. You can tell a lot of thought went into the Ecells bike. By the way, the owner of Ecells - Mr. Cleveland - called me to thank me for my business. Good guy.
Ecells webpage shows the "Dual Star" upgraded option ($2795) comes with the Dual 60-volt 20 Ah batteries, 4 piston brakes with 203 rotor. The In-stock "Five Star" comes with 1500watt 60-volt 20 Ah 40A 2400w peak ready to ship for $1995. Yes, no charges for shipping, handling, forced insurance, or sales tax unless you live in Nevada (I don't know how they get away with no sales tax for all other states). Ecells does offer a lot of upgrades available, but it clearly states a $300 tariff if any upgrades (except storage & accessories) are chosen - thank our current government for the $300 tariff.
@@TheOceanMan-xc7qp Just called ECells and Rachel confirmed that the Step Star (their step-thru cruiser) will only be available as a 24" bike. If you read the website closely you will see this but their website is confusing as it still shows optional 26" street tires (???)
How many 40 mph E Bikes with an adjustable seat? Like 4 maybe? I Think E Cells will be a better bike if you get that dual battery and a torque sensor. Never mind the 5 amp less than the Wired. Wait to see all the prices when Wired supplies run out and that tax kicks in. Frame size choices. Fork and shock upgrades available. Rim color choices and potted controller. I think you can even get a wheel in 24 inch.. 4 piston calipers. Base model is still $1,899 with anyone's $100 channel code.
Ecells is 2900 and over 3k if you do a sensor. I paid 2100$ for a cruiser so almost 2k instead of 1000$ more for e smells
I am buying the new wired freedom already have the 2023 model love the power but the rear suspension wasn't done well hopefully this new model will be a lot better !
Great video. I was going to get the freedom model because of the more ridged frame, but since I am 5'6 I figured I would go with the cruiser. What's your opinion on the new cruiser and going off road on trails? There's no crazy mountain bike trails by me, just easy trails from what I've seen.
Full suspension is a must for any off-roading.
@@oregonebikermark8953 Good to hear! Can't wait to get my cruiser, I ordered a black one.
I ordered an E-Cells five star over the wired freedom. More customizable, no tax and no shipping cost. Depending on what extras you want, its cheaper than the Wired Freedom. Plus E-Cells has been using this frame for longer than Wired has been in business, so they have worked out the quirks with it.
Hope you didn’t order one with a torque sensor. You do realize that the new Wired bikes have 1000 more watts and destroys the e cell in acceleration, hill climbing and top speed? Not even close.
You are a special kinda “A”hole. That’s why I ordered and received my 5 star this week
Great video. Wired just updated their site. The Cruiser+ will be available in August for new orders only. I ordered mine 5/3 and should receive it mid to late July. Looking forward to you getting your Graffiti X in August! That’s a powerful great looking bike!
You've succeeded in making this topic accessible.
Waiting on the new reviews coming. Seems like noticeable power bump, plus forty speeds and easily 80 miles.
Throttle only 35 miles my guess doing it all, fast riding hills etc
40mph is great top speed. 30 on hills would be awesome.
@@oregonebikermark8953 Yep
It's why I'm looking forwards to those soon to come reviews
Hay bro got my bike back out of shop would love to ride with ya hopefully soon it been nice out side to ride
Where did you get that mirror ? Thanks
I bought the mirror from Amazon. Here's the link: shorturl.at/sOfGH
I'm debating this one I really want 1 that looks more like a motorcycle. But the price and dual batteries in the powerful 45 AMPController for the price seems unbeatable really. It's a sleeper
it's not all about the power, wired is a good bike but only if you like Mtb's ya it's 60v but if that is not what you are looking for all that power is useless
Tough to beat what you get at that price. You could if modded a bike, but from the factory? Nope!
The Wired bikes now have strengthened rear suspension, potted controller, 4 piston brakes on 203 rotors, thru axle fork, included dual batteries, and has 1000 more peak watts than the “competition.” The much less powerful e cell clone is $2695 or $2795 for the step thru with 2 batteries. E cells has a F rating with the BBB while Wired has a A-. Wired is also much safer with a true thru axle fork vs. the cheap bolt on dual crown fork e cells is hawking and Wired certifies the entire bike to UL standards, not just the battery like the other guy. E cells is a Con, literally and figuratively.
This guy ^^^^^ Is Steve from Wired so i would take his comments with a grain of salt. He goes on every video bashing E-Cells with miss information.
Well I ordered my E-Cell 5 star on a Monday and was riding it on Saturday in Montana. Absolutely perfect !
Are you sure Fly???
@@user-ht3hm9ng8sI’m sure e cells has a F rating and that Cleveland is a ex con who started e cells while on parole and is a pathological liar. I’ll give 1 million dollars for a picture of Cleveland on the boat he claims is his. You e shills sound like born again nut bags. I’m not Steve, I am the King of England. Just Google “e cells BBB”
@@user-ht3hm9ng8s That is all true yes, and the frame wobble has been addressed, the shipments were also delayed to update the bikes to a t-sensor from what I am reading
Ecells Five Star Dual Star.
E cells with 2 batteries are now $2695 or $2795 in the Trip Star vs $1995 + Shipping for the Wired bikes. Wired bike have 1000 more peak watts and a much safer thru axle fork. The new Wired bikes will absolutely destroy the e cells clone on every performance measure and looks so much better. E cells has a F rating from the BBB and an owner that explodes on customers. Just watch as the production model reviews come in, it’s not even close. 😂😂😂

Who left the door open. The Fly got in. He has been hanging around the cow pasture. No telling what has eaten. Don’t let him touch anything.
I wish you could have gotten off the bike to actually show us the bike
That is the old style anyway
@@TunaSoda ok thanks
