- As the title suggests, we'll discuss a few good reasons for quick ebikes. We'll discuss a few honorable mentions such as E Cells and Ariel Rider's Grizzly. I also will give reason for not reviewing ebikes that have been offered.

Now if wired only made a step through model for us shorter enthusiasts, with maybe 24" wheels! At 78 with a bum ticker, ebikes give a new reason for living!

That new Furious Line from Fabulous ebikes with that new torque sensing technology now makes it very difficult to operate a fast bike slow. That bike just wants to go.
I like what you are doing! I’m 52 years old and I just recently got me a 30 mph e-scooter and I love it! Makes me feel like a kid again. But now I want more. You have my dream setup: Vsett 10+ & the Freedom. Now that’s a lot of fun!! Keep the videos coming.

Im really glad Wired already updated the 2024 with dual batteries etc etc to really go head to head with E Cells bikes and they didn't even raise the price. About to order my new freedom this month, that orange is great. Thanks for the video. Be safe. Ps glad i waited to buy a bike they justkeep updating these things

I've recently ordered an E-Cells Five Stars, customized to the max, with all the components I desired (Dual battery!). Did I mention that I have a 2024 Freedom, identical to yours, color and all? The difference between the two companies is striking. As good as the Freedom is, The company is really a one trick pony. Their website is very basic, and communication is spotty at best, not to mention the exorbitant shipping costs. My experience with E-Cells, on the other hand, has been an eye opener. Not only they have been around for years, have many models of excellent, ground breaking bikes that are highly customizable, have free shipping and no sales tax- Their customer service is simply outstanding, almost personal. I already talked to them three times concerning some questions I had and they have been extremely open and accommodating. If the bike is as good as the company itself (which I expect it to be, as it is very similar to the Freedom), Then this will have been a very good experience indeed! I expect delivery at the end of May. I'll keep you posted.
I’m tempted to buy Ecell five star. Dual battery option sounds awesome.
I also have a Wired and ordered a 5 Star! However, I think Wired is getting dragged unnecessarily. I have talked to Steve at Wired at 10pm once walking through my Freedom menu adjustments. I think they have been great. As for their price? I mean, when they started selling them they were the cheapest game in town so cant blame them there. Looking forward to the 5 star
@@justinwhite2951 Believe me, I love my Wired Freedom. I am NOT putting the company down at all. It is a testimony to their product that I didn't have to communicate with them much. However, the one time I tried to (via their messaging system), I did not get a response at all. To me, the difference between the companies is striking. Since you bought the 5 Star, you must know it first hand. I hope Wired can adopt and manage to survive the competition.

The new standard is starting point with bikes like Wired Freedom and 1,500 watt nominal bikes that will go 40 mph.. 52V and 60V bikes with 40 amp controllers. Dual suspension. Dual motors. The days of the class 3 bikes are over in my book. 28 mph capped bikes are yesterday's news.. My next bike will be sporting a 50 amp controller. 25 watt hour or more 60V battery. 45 mph will be the cruising all day speed.

I fully agree. Sure, if you lack the skills and you'll crash at 35 mph, then it becomes dangerous. But if you've got the skills to handle 35 mph, which is only moped speed after all, then going 35 is safer than going 15-25 mph. Going too slow is scary and dangerous. If you've got lights and you can go 35 mph and you follow the traffic laws, drivers will better accept you on the road, but if you're going under 28 mph, then they're going to be angry that you're on the road. A lot of e-bikes are advertising 28 mph speed but don't actually achieve it under normal circumstances, instead grown men are going 23-25 mph at full charge, and that speed drops down to 19-22 mph as the battery depletes, for a lot of these "28 mph" e-bikes. Going that slow on the road could get you killed. These bikes need to be at least powerful enough to maintain 28 mph on 20% charge, so you can actually maintain the expected speed throughout your ride. And honestly, 28 mph is still pretty low and can still noticeably delay traffic, but 28 mph is the speed limit they've given e-bikes, so let's see some power that actually reliably maintains that speed.
Nothing wrong with enjoying a fast ebike, do it up man! But also nothing wrong with normal ebikes either. Just depends on what your expectations are and what you use them for. Personally, I would want a normal bike with good range and a comfortable sitting position for getting around town, work, groceries, etc.

Mine arrives mid may as well. Got the torque sensor upgrade on it.. absolutely can’t wait. 50 years old here and some of my best memories growing up were riding my bike with no real destination. Can’t wait to feel that again.
As someone who rides alot and has toured the country on a recumbent, I firmly believe that ebikes should be like our gas powered vehicles. We should be able to determine what is safe for conditions, not the city/state.
All ebikes/etrikes should be able to do at least 35mph in my opinion. It is actually safer for riders on the roadways.

Forget what the haters say and keep those wheels turning! I’m in the middle of two 72v ebike builds currently (1 8kw and dual motor 7kw). I used to live in Chandler, but now I’m in Central FL. a guy here built his own 8kw mtn bike and topped out at 105mph. I agree 100% regular cycling just became dull.

You say you stay away from the Fentanyl Brigade if you see those people walking around I suggest you don't even get close because you do not know how high they are or how they will react and good luck
I just like having the options. If I'm around pedestrians and other bikers I'll go slow, but i like knowing that if I'm out by myself and feel like it I can crank it up to 35MPH and have some fun.

The problem is the people who wont slow down around walkers and manual bikers, mostly young and 'wisdom challenged' people. And you can't tell me it's not a real problem when new laws are being made pretty much in every state. It's almost like the early days of automobiles, not many rules or regulations at first. Fast forward to today and, well we all know.

Good You Tube as I got a Mars with a 500W motor in 2022 for $1100 & baskets to make it a cargo bike for shopping. 20mph is better than walking but boring. Unlocked the controller & changed from 23" to 28" wheel size in the controller to get 26mph or so but want 35-40mph when safe.

Wired is one of if not the best but, nothing wrong with a 28mph 48v ebike. Just as much fun if a different way as my 72v scoot

If you commute to work the same way for weeks on end it gets boring yes. Just want to get it over with. 35 mph is better than 28 for sure.
I have a Wired Freedom also, i feel the speed help you stay safe, your moving away from cars and people. I use it for commute to work . Your Right They are just fun bikes !

First off I'm 63yrs. old I've had a hip replacement a heart attack , sciatica , stenosis & rheumatoid arthritis but one thing I don't have , is any regrets about my Wired Freedom , freaking love this bike ! Yes I too owned a slower ebike(Himiway cruiser)as my 1st ebike and found out after the first month that this wasn't safe for street travel(max 28mph)and it seemed like it took forever to get to top speed . Only thing I don't like about it is the mid suspension(I'm 240lbs.) , I bought the late 2023 model and the rear wheel is too close to the controller to be able to take advantage of the mid suspension , I have to keep the shock fully extended . Other than that It's great , I was thinking of buying the new model and that way I would have plenty of spare parts with an extra battery along wit a mid suspension that actually works but the current price with shipping($2481.43) has me on hold about it . I too have been eyeing the new e-cells which is quite a bit cheaper but when I reached out to them with some questions a week ago I've gotten no response yet .

I think Wired will send a modified spring for the older model. Don't take my word for it, but certainly look into this....and yeah, slow accelerating ebikes are terrifying to me! RUGER

e-cells are in nevada. while i think i read wired is in illinois?
what is great about e-cells is they have a ton of options for their bike which wired freedom does not have. while the price starts below the wired freedom, once you add all the different options and accessories it can near $4.
i wish both wired and e-cells well because there should be more than one option and good friendly competition.
what i wish both wired freedom and e-cell’s counterpart had were tubeless tires because i do not want to get stuck like 40 miles from home or something like that.
edit:
i also saw in another youtube video that while the e-cells version may look similar to the wired freedom, they have been using that frame on their other bikes for around five years. so that may be a bit of a coincidence? but either way, i like what wired did with upgrades for their 2024 model. makes it tough to choose one when e-cells has a ton of options like a torque sensor and more stuff.

Ariel Rider Kepler is as fast as the Grizzly top speeds. Or faster because you can actually pedal and input at 35 mph. 35 lbs lighter too. $1,800.. Just no rear suspension.

I own an Ariel rider grizzly. They are pretty fun off road especially with 2 wheel peel. About 34 mph with my fat ass on it lol. I’m intrigued by the wired freedom. Great video and thank you for sharing.

Nice video, great opportunity to open up this conversation. I think the title of the video could have been why ride a powerful ebike ? I have an Ecell 5 star on order not because I need an ebike that goes 35mph but mainly due to the fact that I am of a certain age, height and weight that I can defiantly utilize the power and torque of a 60v 2000 watt powertrain to assist with the terrain I will normally be riding on. If I am going to spend a couple of thousand dollars on an ebike I expect it to be able to perform at a certain level under conditions I expect to regularly encounter. Having enough power on tap so as I do not have to beat the hell out of the drivetrain or over exert myself to get up a big incline is what I am looking for. A 48v 500 or 750 watt powertrain just isn't going to have the performance level in my situation I expect out of a $2000 bike. Additionally a full suspension bike enables me to endure a ride lasting more than 1 hour. I have a teenage son I want to enjoy time with and he defiantly can outpace and outlast me on conventional bikes no matter how high end a bike I may have.

How many miles can you get per battery going 30-35 mph?
Nice ride video! I've owned an (overpriced) $3500 Grizzly. I'm 6'1" 235 lbs and I could get up to 35mph on flat surfaces. If cops start caring about non-traditional-looking fast ebikes in San Francisco or Vegas, I'll probably get a Wired Freedom too. I recently order a $2,400 Motor Goat V3 that people are doing 45mph on.

I purchase the rev1 up back on Black Friday and it’s a beautiful built bike at 52 volt it’s fast on the straight hitting 36 mph at my with 225 height 6ft but I can’t make 2 hills to get to work it takes me down to 19mph and so I can’t be on this hill with traffic man. Should I just upgrade the bike Amazon 72 volt kit or should I just go back to the drawing board or just get a talaria xxx /ecell 5 star / freedom or goat v3 ? Let’s here your guys thoughts

I ride motorcycles, no way would I ever buy a 20mph borefest, I feel bad for people that spend big money on that stuff. Seems like 35 is the fun zone for these bikes, tire manufacturers need to step it up though.

A couple of years ago I was looking into e-bikes and there was all kinds of negativity from the regular pedal community down this way. You haven’t seemed to run into any problems on your rides yet.
