I'm gay and i was also diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and avpd about 5 months ago it's a nightmare but I'm sure things will improve as I'm currently in therapy and on mood stabilisers😁I have both bpd and avpd tho so double the trouble 😶
I am gay and was involved with someone who I now know has clinical depression and BPD. He lacks self confidence, self control, fear of abandonment, impulsive, hot and cold, he thinks everyone is plotting against him, but he was extremely charismatic and charming too. I fell for him but sadly it was long distance. I spent days consoling him and mothering him. He ultimately broke my heart as he went to pursue his bestfriend's partner. As soon as someone gives him attention and affection, he runs after it. I've spoken to some of his exes and they all describe him as turbulent. I wish him healing and I still love him deeply.
I think this is very similar to my first boyfriend too. I chalked us up to breaking up because I was an immature asshole. We lost contact for years and talked every once in awhile but he confided something in me, something that happened to me too when I was young, and it sort of "clicked" into some ways of how we were. THAT really helped get me to fit the pieces and I've been dealing with things a lot better now that I understand stuff with my past. He didn't say it explicitly, but I think he is too and becoming a better person, so I decided to as well.

Thank you for sharing this. Im a gay man who also suffers from severe depression, general anxiety, social anxiety, substance use disorder, ADHD , I just got diagnosed with BPD, AND i have a orange tabby too.
Oh and Insomnia as a nice cherry on top lol
we have all of the same disorders including a orange cat. mine is my best-friend honestly
Wow we are very similar; however, I’m also on the autism spectrum. My autism is very mild. These disorders are horrifyingly destructive. I will never live a “normal” life. Most days are excruciating. Most relationships are impossible.

You should make a video of your Therapy journey. I am pretty sure my bf has it and a clinician told me for my safety she suspected it. After doing research I 100% agree. I want to know what therapy looks like for him.
I will! Therapy will look different based on city and especially country, but I'm happy to make a video about what it looked like for me and what it may look like elsewhere.

I think I might have this. I literally just fell head over heels for a guy last night while on vacation. Had an amazing night, was trying to rack my brain for a way to see him/come visit etc without much reciprocation on the other end. Came to accept it was just a fun night and was coming to terms with that and now am feeling deeply depressed and insecure and all around icky.

Hmm ... very interesting. My old boyfriend has BPD.
He played a role in saving my life when I attempted suicide after many years of clinical depression.
I was in a coma for a few days. I moved a few states aways, and he followed me. But I've never seen him, and I lost contact with him long ago. It's been years since I've heard from him. In the meantime, I await unexpectedly for him to sort of re-emerge on the scene, even though it would be impossible for me to see him because I'm more or less disabled, and he's been playing a game of hard to get, ignoring me for several years now. I don't even know where he lives, but most likely within 60 miles of me. Geez, it sometimes seems like I'm the guy with BPD. Suffice it to say that I'm a mental basket case, and not just because of him. I blame him for nothing, although I suppose I occasionally used to blame him in the distant past.
