Paul Janeway (St Paul) was once a Pentecostal style preacher…lots of Gospel in his sound. Plus his Birmingham, AL roots lends him that Southern blues and soul. Check out “Call Me” next!!!

Great band that most people probably never heard of! You should also DEFINITELY check out Durand Jones & the Indications, who also bring back that old soul sound.

Shocked to see you react to this. Believe it or not, I first heard this song on the Black & Mild website. They had a bunch of songs you could download and this was one of them. I found a few gems. Yes, his voice is awesome, but the song lyrics and instrumentals themselves are killer too. I hope a lot of people watch this but I don't know that it hit super big. Definitely a hidden gem. I will share.

I saw these live and didn't know what to expect. There's about 10 people in the band, who all stat playing one at a time - all looking cool AF . Then this singer comes out, looking like you ordered Graham Norton from Wish. Then that voice and performance. It's like watching James Brown. Amazing.
