This is one of the best award show performances of all time. They were just having so much fun and you can absolutely tell.
I've been to 100+ concerts/festivals and watched 1000's of live performances on video before. This is an all-time great. Between Chris, Justin and the band, the Tennessee Kids. Perfect harmony.

Chris’s wife ,Morgane, is a great singer too! You should check out her singing with Chris on the song “Amanda “ and her singing “you are my sunshine “ with Chris singing backup. Both are amazing!
Love this song. Chris isn't the original singer of this song, but the way he sings it, man... I could listen to this all day.
Chris made it his own like the great Joe Cocker made help from my friends his own. It's rare when a cover of a song surpasses the original.

I think it is impressive that Justin Timberlake managed to grow up and mature with his fan base if that makes sense....Also...every single person in that room watching this performance has ear to ear smiles on their faces. When you got everybody standing at an award ceremony mid way through the first song you know you’re doing work.
If I remember the story, JT loved Chris' voice. And for JT's birthday, his GF hired Chris to play his party. Ever since that day, they became friends.

Chris Stapleton and JT are neighbors and are good friends ... It showed in this performance that this was buddies having a blast performing together
Justin was in the musical sauce that night. that man was feeling all kinds of things being on stage with Chris. You can tell the everyone on stage was in the musical sauce and feeling the jam session that just happened to be live.
I just love the performance is by far what are the greatest of all time
Chris originally wrote songs, because he suffered panic attacks performing in public. But, his wife Morgan helped him overcome that. That is why you see her within all of his performances. So I guess a BIG THANKS should go out to her for sharing Chris's major talents. There's categories such as rap, rock, country and then there's Chris. A category in hiself. I believe Chris has a lot of unknown layers. You could hear it in his songs. The words seem like there more of experience then just words a lone.

JT didn’t have a choice but to evolve, being on stage with the likes of Chris. Fun fact JT wasn’t scheduled for this performance originally but Chris suffers from stage fright and his wife suggested bringing a friend so told the awards that he wouldn’t perform without Justin.
He didn't evolve. This is who he is. People forget her respected he is within the industry by his peers. He did what he always does 😄

Justin was at the top of the pop world at 16-17. Top of the r'n'b world from 19-30. Had one of the greatest r'n'b albums of all time. Put out a folk album. He doesn't miss.
It was torwards the end, and yes, it was the best performance of the night on that awards show. I remember watching it and was blown away literately by that performance.

Funny story, as soon as having a crush on JT, I was reminded of my 14 year old granddaughter being so "in love" with JT, my fiance said well I went to school with his dad, want me to get you backstage tickets?" She quickly said, "you lying!". So he turned his phone towards her with messages to Mr. Timberline 😂 She was so excited 😂🤣 I just sent her the screenshot of messages (she's 24 now) I found them in his phone after we lost him a month ago💔 This brought smile's through your reaction remembering the time's we watched this very video together and spoke about JT & his family. What a blessing y'all are 🙏 I know I'm watching late, but the timing was perfect! Much love and respect from TN 💞

A lesser known fact is that this song was first recorded by country legend George Jones in 1962, that might be the wrong year but true to George recording it first. Since then a number of artists have recorded their version of this song but it wasn’t until Chris recorded the song he completely gave the song life again!Congrats to Chris and RIP to George,a legend sorely missed!
