Brilliant series that Roger. Love to see more of this kind of thing on the channel. You must be proud of that final result. So impressed with the Abacus products 👍🏻
Thanks. It is hard to line up the filming and everything else but we will try.
Skill Builder you did a great job. You can do anything you put your mind to. Love the British humour and workmanship.
Hear hear! 😁👍

Wow the end result looks amazing, its your experience and knowledge that makes it all work as it should -Spot on.
Just watched this entire series in a row, until now, 3am. Incredible work, Roger! Sheer mastery of your craft!
Roger Bisby a complete joy to watch and to learn.
Lovely refurb... and very satisfying when the final assembly of the hardware 👍🏼

Beautiful work, you are a gifted man.
What a great video series - really fascinating - makes a change watching someone who really knows what they are talking about and can also put it into practice! Many thanks.

Loved the series Roger, the finished bathroom looks absolutely great! Thanks for the tip with the diamond holesaws too, good to know! Looking forward to the next series :)
Great series this. well done.
A lovely job and great series.
Great series, bathroom looks awesome
Top work. Has given me a lot of ideas for a shower room refurb at home.
Love your high quaity of workmanship
Great job and advice,thanks
Excellent series Roger and the Bathroom looks first class. I reiterate other comments made that i wished i could get Skill Builder to do my loft conversion in Staffordshire as your level of detail is fantastic. By the way congratulations to your team, including your cameraman who has to film all the goings on over a period of several weeks or so whilst listening to Rogers world.
Putting another request for the Staffordshire area. I can offer plenty of tea and even bacon sarnies.
stunning job! cant wait to see the next one!
Thank you for the video Mr Roger.
Great job done ! I like your sense of humour!
What a fantastic series showing just what it takes to make a "Propper" bathroom!
Watched this series from start to finish, very inspirational watching proper quality. You really have a great presentation style Roger and you're a joy to watch. The fact you know what you are doing is a nice bonus too. Thanks for taking the time to make the videos because they really are spot on!
Thank you Thomas. It means a lot to me to get some good feedback. It is hard work putting there videos together.
Excellent bit of work 👍
Roger, you’re a diamond 💎
Wow great result.
That was so informative and entertaining, brilliant stuff.
This turned out great, excellent job! I know it’s a sponsored video but the products do look great and I get the impression you guys enjoyed working with them
really enjoyed this series roger love the fact that you dont cut all the bits out when its difficult first time keep it up chap
Hi. Good videos. I first watched one of your videos where you used a frame fixture that gets hidden ,for mounting the toilet. All that hidden fixtures in the wall with access to clean really puts the price up but looking at the lovely results is really helpful. Well done. It's the small poxy problems that your videos are good at clearing up . Well done. Regards Don Codman
Fantastic tips as always Roger. And what a brilliant piece of work. Maybe it was the music but it made me all emotional as I know the feeling when it comes to the end of a gruelling project and you just have the final touches.
Yes I know what you mean about the music. I wish I had that soundtrack when I was working
That guys, is one beautiful job. We're starting a full refurb on Monday and we're going to use the elements board in the shower enclosure for the first time. If it turns out to be half as good as this, i'll be chuffed.
Excellent work🎯💯
A very beautiful job.
Beautiful job 👍🏻
Even precision engineers need wiggle room. They call it tolerance.
Awesome bathroom. Love the channel.
Well done!
I've just had a look at the prices on the abacus website.
For the quality the prices are quite reasonable.
Pleasantly surprised.
Fantastic job.
They knock spots off the Geberit frames for sure and they give you more in the kit.
Great job, looks the business.👍
I use a basin-mate what fitting basins never had a problem, good work Roger.
Quality job 👏👏
Superb finish, great job. I'd be ecstatic if my bathroom gets the same treatment one day
Not too bad that Rodger. Your getting better at that plumbing lark.😀😀👍
A bit more practice and I might make a living.
Very nice love this show
Absulute perfection it don't get any better than this Mr Bisby from a Carpenter who's forrtay is NOT plumbing this is a brilliant job well done matie
Thank you Mark
Absolutely smashed this out the park .. not quite right if it don’t give up without a fight ..
Those tiles looked quite dark initially then after a tonse’ up a bit of light and set off the mosaics .. it was like WoW 😮SOLD 💰
Love the videos
Really nice.
Love the vids. Thanks for doing them.
The Challenger rocket o-ring that failed had a backup, there were two o-rings (primary and backup). The leak was through both.
Yep, my mistake, I have read up on it now and people new they were likely to fail in the cold. Stupid waste of life.
Enjoying these videos Roger.
I’ve recently changed two wastes where the internal threads had corroded over the years making the whole thing come loose and leak. Silicone on the top and bottom stops it leaking and also keeps the whole thing tight should the threads fail. I agree tho it’s a pain to take apart.
Just awesome 🎉👍
Thank you! I am pleased with the job.
@@SkillBuilder I love your channel 👍
Excellent video Roger.
For Info on the space shuttle, there were 2 o rings at every segment of the Solid rocket boosters. They had already found the inner o ring gone on previous missions and only the outer had saved it. Unfortunately for the crew on the mission you mentioned both failed...Very sad. And the whole school class were there to witness it...
Arcade Dad
I knew somebody would pick up on that statement so I thought I had better do some reading. It was, as you say 2 'o' rings not one but it was worse than that because they knew they were not good for the cold weather and an engineer advised on delaying the flight. The leak actually sealed itself before they took off which was in the design but side winds shook the sealing element out. There is a whole book on it and, like so many things, it could have been avoided if people had taken the warnings seriously. For the record the spacecraft was The Challenger.
It was even worse than an engineer just advising against it, there were massive arguments happening behind the scenes as engineers tried their best to stop this happening. But we all know the outcome unfortunately, they were overruled by some wanker in management who was intent on keeping to schedules and deadlines...
Good job😎😎
I feel like I worked on that bathroom with you watching the entire series! I’m exhausted.
I was wondering who that was over my shoulder
Reminds me of another great Roger, that is, of course, Roger Daltrey CBE who like this Roger speaks his mind.
Have you read his autobiography? He has great respect for the working man and is not afraid to dig a ditch. I have seen The Who several times and out of the many bands I have seen they are right up there.
@@SkillBuilder Not yet but you do so remind me of him....your accent, your "can do" attitude, your 100% professionalism.... what's not to like about you both !
Almost 100k boys!
I thought you meant pounds but then I realised it is subs you are talking about. We have been working towards that figure for years and I thought it would never come.
From down under here in New Zealand, bloody brilliant show....great production and music too! I can hardly belive you guys still use those shaver outlets, we stopped with them and went to RCD's 25 yrs ago, mind you if it aint broke......
Thanks for those kind words. In the U.K you can put in a socket if it is more than 3 metres from the bath or shower.
As the bathroom is only 3 metres long that is tricky. I am not sure the men in suits have fully embraced RCDs. They still don't accept them as a means of protection on building sites so we have to use 110volts which is a complete pain.
Excellent series of domestic works - I would have loved to see how the glass was fitted for the shower screen & the effect it has when being used to keep the water in one place & not flood all over the floor.
Looks as though there is a quarter inch gap between the floor & the glass screen on completion.
When siliconed in place it always goes mouldy - So a free standing glass caught my interest & how well it works.
This guys great, first time I've seen him, very impressed, one of the view vids you don't mind the ads on because he's such an engaging personality, was he Crocodile Dundee in a previous life ? certainly good enough for an acting career. I hope when I've finally settled on a choice of plumber for my bathroom upgrades they are as fastidious and skilled as he is.
That bathroom is a masterpiece. Very impressive workmanship from start to finish. Makes you wonder how much it all cost from materials to labour and how much time it took to finish. I hope they had a second bathroom to use while that was going on.
I'd say anything between 1 and 2 weeks for timescale. Most of the bathrooms I do are 6 day jobs from start to finish. I have done some very large ones that were up to 3 weeks, but this one in the video I'd imagine is 10-14 days work
I feel better seeing that doing neat silicone seems hard even with so much experience haha
Rest assured Roger, keeper of the O rings. challenger crew still alive - Bing images
turned out great, looks really smart, how long would a refurb like this take in labour days
PTFE = Plumbers Tape For Everything 👍
loctite 55 that mate, much better than ptfe
I'm in germany and looking at the brass fittings. It's interesting to see how many fittings have the thread pre scored.
The Germans stole my idea
top dollar work. I do some handywork around the house and I can see the difference really. Some of the water pipes are not secured , just floating in the air. Wrong sizes, and whatnot.
I just wish I had a local plumber that could do work like this, so far had a sink leak 3 occasions with 3 different plumbers.
Lovely finish Roger, but how do you know those connections going through the tiles don’t leak when you can’t see them ?
Hi there, thank you for sharing, just wondering if you do anything extra to stop the beautiful window wood frame for getting any water damage with the shower just being near it
Awesome job🙌🙌🙌did the customer request the white silicone around the bath? Clear seems more modern and better theses days... your thoughts?
Fantastic 👍
Come on Roger tell us what we all wanna know, how much???
😂👌👍
@Q 400 you can afford anything if you put you mind to it , you can have that for free 👍😘
Say £30K all in and you can have it.
@@DaysOfDarknessUK . I flicked through my Sunday colour supplement fashion pagesthe other week. Little jacket £2,800 shoes £700 scarf £180. Haircut £200
The last thing those people are looking for is a cheap bathroom. Honestly guys if one of those ladies that lunch tells her friend they just spent £30,000 on a new bathroom her friend will go looking for one that cost £40,000
I knew a guy who had a bathroom showroom near Esher and if business got slack he would put the prices up.
Great series this. How long did it take you?
Hi Roger, Your calibre of work is great . I’m looking to have my bathroom completely refurbed. I’m in Kent . Could you recommend anyone i could use that’s not a cowboy. Thank you .
Roger ! …. What's the model of that Makita drill you used for the hole saw ? Cheers pal … Kisses … xxx
Thanks for this.... I want to put an angle valve on my brick wall that will be tiled over with a 10mm thick tile... the open end will be a female threaded 1/2" (we call em 15mm over here).
I'm not sure how deep it should be n the wall, flush, or flush with where the tile is expected to end, or something else? I don't want pipe sticking out the wall by the escutcheon.
Very nice. One question.
"How Much £*. Great job though
Roger. Regarding the Towel rail issue at 18:13. If you want to use chrome fittings - some of the radiator tail extenders may also be useful. They come in various lengths.
It looks like he just stuck a small s-bend in the pipe in the end.
hi could you possibly help my dad saw your video on rendering would this be ok using lime inside a swimming pool what would you use on the inside of a swimming pool on concrete block.would you add a waterproofing agent suggestions really appreciated and ratios you would use thanks so much.I subscribed to your channel.hope you have a nice evening.also pool floor a screed what do you think about screeds not sure if just to put sand .
There was two o-rings on that Challenger's SRB segment joins, a base and a backup. Problem was the freezing temps made them brittle and they both blew.
Hi Kosmonooit
You are right, I looked it all up after spouting off about it but I also found that one of the engineers advised against the launch due to the cold and they went ahead. There is a great book about the whole affair.
Cheers Rog - yeah besides the sub zero temps the final report blamed the safety culture at NASA at the time, warnings were ignored in order to stick to schedules. They also redesigned how them segments join to be more fail safe. What can we learn? don't take chances. Listen to those who know.
How long did it take to complete? Looks stunning.
Thanks for the tip on silicone removal, my housing association thinks it is the only way to repair absolutely everything. We waited 16 years for a replacement shower, when they finally fitted a new one, 2 months later the on/off switch blew up and burnt out. Have you got any footage on how to repair draughty double glazed windows, woodworm treatment, woodworm damage repair, toilet to floor thingamajig repair? i would go on but I fear I would bore you with the list of things that need doing... I subbed instead! Thank you again x
Roger.. I'm putting a shower base into an alcove and was going to use aquastrap but it's such a tight fit that the added mm of the butyl tape won't fit. What's the best option to seal the tray to wall gap. Silicone, Elements fix md, CT1 or what. The walls are elements board.
Just grab a roll of No More Leaks Bath and shower sealing tape from B&Q. Peel the back off the thin bit and place it where the tiles go. We have a video on it. I usually gun a bit of silicone down the gap first and let that go off and then follow up with the tape, then the tiles then the final silicone seal. Three layers of protection. If I had gone for that approach earlier in my life i would not have spent the last 30 years paying for my kids.
