I was just about to comment: Wanna be Scott the Woz. The intro is similar, title similar (accept YT user), going back and forth to IRL and gameplay/images, to even the thumbnail.

Seriously though, new to the channel and I appreciate the fact it's similar to Scott the Woz without lifting his style entirely... a channel to watch. Small thing might be to make sure that you don't need to rewind to catch some gags... there was once or twice that something on screen changed too fast for me to catch it entirely without backing up.

As someone who’s been collecting these things for over 8 years, it’s sad to see them slowly dying. They just appeal to the collector in me. Also, a lot of Scott the Wozz vibes, but that makes me laugh.

I have the Skylanders base for Skylanders giants on 3DS and I don’t think it works with amiibos, unfortunately I don’t remember where it’s at

@@Atlas_966 I tried dothing something similar with my 3ds, having amiibos stored inside of the sd card and it didn't work for me and i was going to use it for the video...

Great vid! Funny gags. I'm not sure how much Amiibo sell these days, but it seems like Nintendo keeps a pretty limited stock, occasionally dribbling out smash bros reprints and just a couple new figures a year, mostly marketed to collectors. I was never a fan of amiibo for the in-game functionality; Outside of occasionally playing a few rounds in smash and using the splatoon ones for in game exclusive great, I've barely touched these things.
I'm a figure collector, so having a budget line of figures for so many all-star nintendo characters is pretty cool, though things like the faces do get a little rough on some figures, specifically the fire emblem smash line. I do appreciate the splatoon ones a fair bit, I think they look great overall, though I wish Nintendo did more figures outside of amiibo. Also, I think the idea of NFC cards and figures killed all of NIntendos interest in pushing AR cards on the 3ds. Looking back, that died almost as soon as Amiibo were introduced, which is the reason I wake up in the morning with a smile. Also, it's totally a successor to the e-reader cards from the GBA.
Weirdly, one of the "best" functionality for an amiibo i've seen is Chibi-Robo Zip-Lash, introducing a new world with the amiibo... that came with the game... and it was obviously in the game to begin with so it was just being paywalled for no reason... Yeah there's no good use for these things. Either it's basically just day 1 DLC, or it's next to worthless.
I do think the Amiibo Cards for animal crossing are pretty neat. Just get the card for the villager you want, and you can scan them into the game. Weird that they havent tried to push this concept onto Pokemon cards.
Thank you, and I see what you’re getting at… I’m not sure why they include functionality and continue making new ones when not that many people really cares a whole lot any more… I don’t really connect them but I got the ones I really wanted and that had been a few years ago… I haven’t kept up with amiibos or really anything toys to life related in a long time but I see that there is still some value to the amiibo line of figures…
I feel like Amiibo had so much potential, it could have been another Yu-Gi-Oh!, or POKEMON!!! I don't understand why they didn't put out an action adventure type game where your player character is the Amiibo you scan into the game?
9:13 that just means there's plenty in stock not that they aren't selling well
