Arden Lyn was an Emperor's Hand for a time, and Hoar, Thok and the random Stormtrooper (all of them Force sensitive) were her students. Lyn was also involved in the Zaarin Insurrection, boarding Palpatine's Star Destroyer over Coruscant and capturing him during Grand Admiral Zaarin's attempted coup before it was ultimately foiled by the arrival of loyalist Imperial forces headed by Darth Vader, Thrawn and Tie pilot Maarek Stele.

I had a love-hate relationship with this game. I loved the premise, taking our beloved characters and some generic characters and putting them into a fighting game. But the execution was poor: primarily with the game speed. I think the combo system was a little on the short end but I think the fact that inputs are so slow make them even worse.
I loved this game because graphically the charcters and the environment looked good (at the time), I liked being able to switch Luke into his Return of the Jedi outfit by hitting select on his model. The difficulty is pretty high if you don't try cheesing the game (if you put it on hard), although you have to be ready for the computer to mercilessly try to juggle you or push you out of the ring.
I do think they did try their best with this game at the time due to the detail and color of character models and the background, but also because the sound design was good. It may not have a story mode which would have enhanced it, but an arcade mode with unlockable cutscenes and characters was par for the course.
They might have made more success with a game like this if it were strictly made for an arcade, with better hardware or at least hardware that they know how to code for, compared to just trying to jump into PS1's code.

There are plenty of much worse Star Wars games out there. But I think the reason this game sticks out so much is because of how much *potential* it had to be good. The graphics were great for the time it came out, the sound design was fantastic, and fighting games seem like such a no-brainer for a setting where all the biggest moments in the movies are big lightsaber duels. The fact that it plays so, so badly in spite of all of that is what makes this game stick in the memories of fans. And it honestly wouldn't take too many changes to make it a much, much better experience. If the controls were a bit more responsive, if the stun from when characters are knocked to the ground didn't last so egregiously long, and if the enemy AI were just a little more responsive, it could have been a fantastic game for its time. Instead, what we got was a barely playable mess.
I'd honestly love to see another take at this concept, modernized and with tighter, more fluid gameplay. Because of this game's failure, we've gotten exceedingly few Star Wars fighting games. We're long overdue for Star Wars to get, say, the Dragon Ball Fighterz treatment.

When they were making this game, they wanted a secret language to use for the Teräs Käsi and then a Finnish person working there said that they should use Finnish as the secret language (its a good secret language because its not related to other European languages other than Estonian and to Hungarian but not as much at it is to Estonian. It is also related to some very small languages.) Then they used what the worker said. Teräs Käsi translated to English means Steel Hand. You didnt say it right at all, i understand because Finnish is finno-ugric language and very different to English but you could look the words up and lookup how it is said in future videos and also look up what it means. Im Finnish if you didnt already get it lol.

I feel like a Star Wars fighting game could be really fun if done right. A SoulCalibur-esque weapon-based fighting game letting you play as all of your favorite Jedi and Sith as well as other characters from throughout the Star Wars universe who wield melee weapons, with each character having their own unique set of special moves. I think Bandai Namco had the right idea including Star Wars characters in SoulCalibur IV, even if some parts of it could have been thought out better (*cough* *cough* Yoda *cough*)
