Thanks for watching. xoxo - Zábava
The expression you make,,when it's good music,priceless.
She stole my heart many many years ago. Great band, still sounds great.
As a teenage boy in the 70's Blondie will always be my "Sunday Girl" - cold as ice cream but still as sweet.
Mine was Stevie Nicks but I get what you're saying
Yes, indeed! I was younger, but it was Debbie, and this very video when I realized girls weren't yucky ...........
Proudly heterosexual ever since !! LOL!
Ditto.... A formative time.
@@Sean2002FU watching this back years later, I should have realized I was pansexual a lot earlier ;P Love 'Sunday Girl', one of my favourite songs of theirs, especially the version with French lyrics
Great description 👍
From Atlantic Canada, here. About 15 years ago I played keyboards for a local band. We were headlining a show at a bar and Blondie was also in town playing that night. Well, later on in our set I turned around to adjust the settings on my amp and sitting at the table immediately behind me was Debbie Harry and the band. Holy shit. I just played it cool, but my god was I nervous. lol.
You're doing your thing and realize, *_the iconic_* 80s music punk/disco/new wave band is just behind you. Damn, I would be as nervous as hell too!
I met Deborah Harry in Vancouver. She is amazing. Thank you for the reaction video. Please never stop smiling. It warms my heart whenever i see it.
One of those songs that when it comes on the radio, I smile and reach for the dial to turn it up.
sounds like something I could do too😄
This song was influenced by the Disco era of the mid to late 1970's, because Blondie was considered a pop punk band! They even took a stab at rap with the song Rapture! Check it out!
One of a number of hits by Blondie. And of course, every guy was in love with Deborah Harry back then. Wonderful smile, laugh and reaction from you, Mo! Great job as always!!!
She’s so easy to love!❤️
Many thanks for your compliments🥰
The round shiny ball was called a disco ball. It would be hung from the ceiling and had lights aimed at it. The ball would rotate, scattering moving dots of light around the dance floor.
Thank you ☺️
I loved Blondie. Great music, great singer and she was super gorgeous. They had a lot of cool songs like Atomic, Sunday Girl, Hanging On The Telephone, Dreaming, The Tide is High, Union City Blues to name a few. Good choice Morenikeji. Take care over there.
Yes yes, super gorgeous!!!
*I had records from all genres back then...this was one of them. It's sort of funny; how Blondie wasn't really going anywhere as a Punk band. But when they switched to stuff leaning more toward new wave with a splash of disco, they got noticed. Try: The Tide Is High__One Way Or Another__Call Me__Rapture__Maria__Dreaming*
They just had danceable New Wave tunes. That's what New Wave was. It was the opposite of disco.
@@oleeb By "splash of disco"...I meant a few of their songs were played in discos back then. The "Disco" genre is music to dance to.
@@oleeb plus they just hung in there and wrote music they enjoyed performing. eventually an audience found them and lifted them up.
do remember (dimly) when I had all these early Blondie/Harry records and the guys on my block loved her, but still clung a little to the past. Bet they're listening more now, if they're still ticking.
Maria's an interesting one since it's from their 90s era comeback rather than their late 70s-early 80s heyday. Maria and their later songs are tailored to Debbie's later life vocal range (with age, her vocal range shift a bit lower and got a bit warmer and less crystalline - she wasn't hitting the crazy high notes anymore by then).
The band is still putting out interesting albums, even if they don't chart like they used to. Seriously, Pollinator (2017) was a great Blondie album and they've still definitely got it, even in their seventies. "Doom or Destiny" (sung as a duet with Joan Jett - the video is goofy fun) is a fun one off that album that echoes back to their punk attitude and new wave sound and "Long Time" off the same album could easily have been a track from their heyday years or their 90s era.
I only heard blonde for the first time about 10 years ago, I didn't grow up when they were around, but I was surprised at how much I like this song. Atomic is another good track by them.
It’s so likeable💗
Atomic is fantastic.
That video is symbolic. Those were the disco years and they were the Rock'n'Roll band invading a disco nightclub.
I try to live my life by the lyrics of one of Blondies songs. "I will give you my finest hour" from their song Picture This. I always loved Blondie and Debbie since the 70s. I adore Heart of Glass. But about 10 years ago at a very difficult time in my life Picture This was playing on the radio. It was one of the few moments I was genuinely happy with so many bad things happening at the time and the lyrics jumped out at me. Since then my promise has been to give the best of me that I can... I will give myself "my finest hour" always.
Don't worry about not understanding the songs meaning on first full listen. I've heard this song for over 40 years and still only get about half of it. It's wonderful seeing you do what you di so well!! Your the best Mo!! Take care Luv. Your friend, RNB
I was a teenager as she became a star and I felt madly in love. She did never smile on pictures but she melted my heart with her voice and her beauty.
Blondie actually had the first hit song that featured rapping - Rapture.
This was one of the 1st songs that I considered "new wave" as the obvious genre label. Flash-n-the Pan had "Walking in the Rain" at the same time.
Oh my goodness, Blondie made so many good tracks - well worth listening to some more. One of the best selling bands in the late 70s - but had another number one in the 90s I think. They were able to change their style and still be successful :)
Totally awesome production, writing and engineering, musicianship... the mix of elctro-pop and pop/rock is still fresh and exciting, today - great song, great performance!
Baby girl. Love the reaction. Love Blonde. Thanks for choosing this.
Analog tape machines, great German microphones, hand built consoles. Talent and dedication by the band. The results are heard here. Not a computer in sight for the making of this record....
Debbie harry, still fabulous!
This is from the Album Parallel Lines, its one of the best albums of all time.
Blondie are great live too, not just a tribute band, still a great band
Thanks for your lovely reaction❤❤
Although I know this song, this is the first time I've seen the video. Watching her expression change with the lyrics was a treat.
This band wasn't afraid to play with styles and genres, creating their own sound like no other.
Great song from back in the day. Blondie rarely missed the target. Good reaction, Morenikeji. Keep well.
I enjoyed your reaction as always!
I saw Blondie in person in Boston when this was at the top of the charts. She was in a pink baby doll outfit. Outstanding performance! Watching this reminded me of just how gorgeous her voice was. She's in her 70's now. Time flies!
Aww❤️💗
Soo nice to see Blondie again , she had a lot of hits in Holland ! We watch every Monday at TOP POP and she was always there. Morenikeji I Love your choice , thanks and Love from Holland! 🙋🏼♂️😘👏👍
Neat song!!! Was on radio ALL the time for years!! Came out in 1978 I think. 😊🌹
1978? Wow!!!
I knew you were going to like this one. She has such a distinctive voice.
I knew you’d like that. So pleased you did. Men of a certain age like myself remember that record and the album it came from with great fondness. Debbie Harry was something of a teenage crush in the late 70s and early 80s. But it’s also a truly great pop record. It’s not surprising you’d heard it before at least in snippets.
I have no words😄💗💗💗
This is the edited version. The proper version included "soon turned out to be a pain in the ass". If you watch the last bit of the vocals, you will see that it has been overdubbed as Debbie can clearly be seen to be singing the words above.
I have said it before and I’m going to say it again. I love watching your face when you discover new music. And then you smile. Wow! So beautiful. Thanks for another great video.
One suggestion for a song, Saturday night by the Bay City Rollers.
Great reaction! This is a classic song of Blondie.
Wow!!! I totally enjoyed your reaction.... Love
a hit whn i was in hs, always got me 2 dance whn it came on even though i cdlnt dance haha. still played in clubs decades after it was released.
Perfect song for dancing. Great rhythm, light voice.
I can’t agree less👏🏼
What a treasure to see such beautiful faces side-by-side in this video. Morenikeji, it was truly a treasure to reach re-experience this song through your eyes and to watch your soulful and genuine reactions to one of my all-time favorite artists.
Brilliant song, legendary. Always on every dance-floor a bomb.
Yes
There was a period at the turn of the 1970s to 1980s where it seemed that Blondie might conquer the world. They were enormous in Britain and this was a 1979 No.1 in my home territory.
Baby girl!! So great to see you react to a fun song after the heavy ones in the recent past! Your face was radiant throughout the video! Thank you!!
Ooh, my next choice wasn’t such a happy one 🥲
Blondie was condemned by the Punk Bands for changing, they started out as a punk band (3 strings and percussion), but decided to get on the back end of Disco declining years. Her best record got to be Atomic or Rapture
Love your reaction. You're so in to it.
Anybody would love to see your smile all the time. Keep smiling, it's just beautiful.
I saw Blondie in concert in the UK at the NEC .. think it was 2000.. They were really good 👍
You should check out "Maria" by Blondie...another great song!!!
Fun fact:DH was the first rapper on MTV.
You should do “Dreaming” by Blondie next.
Great song with a time change in the middle. You and I have a lot of the same reactions to some of my favorite groups. Love watching your reactions MT.
I always assumed "heart of glass" meant that her heart was easily broken.
Exactly. Empathy is a power not a weakness. Peace/JT
That’s what I found out too🥺
From the best album of my teens "Parrarell lines"! Loved it and more number ones than any since the Beatles! Well anyway that might not be true lol but I remember there's a lot of number 1s you should do more off this album there's even a reggae number! 😱 love the show 👍
2 beautiful women. 1 video, what more can a man ask for! Great reaction MoreniKeji!
These were huge in the late 70s with a whole string of hits. My personal memory of watching them live circa 1980 is feinting due to the heat and waking up being passed over the all standing crowd to aa place of relative safety on the side. I sat outside (the doors were opened) for 1 song to cool down then back inside for the rest of the gig, happy days!
Keep them coming Mo!
You're right on, the round shiny thing is actually called a Disco ball!
Notice the keyboard player also plays the old school telephone cord? lol As a growing boy in the late '70s Blondie was one of my first crushes.
Sí, lo sé Morenikeji , es una música hipnotizante por su melodiosa voz
Donnie Brasco movie they played this in the Discotec and everyone dancing.

Just a quick point - Blondie is the name of the band. Debbie Harry is the lead singer of the band.
You and Blondie in the same frame.... true beauty.
Another great reaction my favourite baby girl! 💖💖 Every guy had a crush on the singer Debbie Harry when this video came out. You have to tell me - did i see you trying to hold your shoulders, to stop you from not dancing? Not once - but twice? 🤦😂 This was also a song that would be played so much at the discos of the time. And, i have to say - am loving your look and your hairstyle!! 20 out of 10 !! 👏 And of course, one of my favourite parts, whatever the style of music, is your gorgeous smile and laugh! 🥰 Have a wonderful weekend. Lots of Love 😘😘
Did I touch my shoulders?🙊😂 I didn’t even know!
Ooh, I wasn’t wrong with the disco vibe then💃🏼. Thank you for your kind words too🙏❤️
@@MorenikejiTaiwo Haha - yes - you touched them twice! 😂 I'm getting to know when you are wanting to dance, but keeping yourself in check, so you can react to the video! - so cute! 💖
Great memories to this song ❤️
I wonder, I'm even shocked, тhere are so many people who react to Blondie songs and none of them is "Maria". And "Maria" is one of her best songs, I would even say the greatest song. So I wonder - there was no one to finally react to this great song "Maria"!?
That very last line on the album with this song goes “soon turned out--to be a pain in the ass”. Which went perfectly with well with the line “Heart Of Glass” dont hardly hear it the correct way anymore.
Love this song.
So beautiful!
Fantastic reaction 👍
Flash back to my high school days. 🤗
There's that pretty smile, recover from War Pigs.
Blondie had disco vibes might I suggest her
song 'Rapture' I think you would dig it .
Take care, love and peace always. 😍💗✌
Great music from Blondie! - ELP "Still.... You Turn Me On"
I actually seen them live. Was shocked.how good and tight the band was.
Back in the early 80s at the roller rink. Girls grab your boys we are actually going to skate.
A remix of this was in the background of the film House of Gucci recently and also prominent in the trailer.
Hi Morenikeji, good to see you enjoying Blondie so much and do not worry about 'blushing' beautiful!. Braids looking great today ( missed them or were they still there under your headscarf ? ). As others have said, think you would like some of their other songs.
I had just washed my hair when I had my scarf😁, so it wasn’t there.
Thank you for your kind words💗💗💗
Beauty and Talent.... Wow.... Haven't seen this for a while
you're so pretty. I enjoy your interpretations of my favorite songs ,, thank you
oh wow.. this is by far the best react to this song!.. brb,.., checking out your channels for other reacts...
If you want to hear a very different version of Heart of Glass, listen to Post Modern Jukebox's version. They slow it down and add horns. The video is in black & white. It's straight out of the 1940's.
Debora Harry Graduated from "Centenary College" for Woman !! Centenary became Coed in 1976! It is located in Hackettstown, New Jersey, My hometown, She Graduated with a Associate of Arts degree in 1965. She would be seen around town ! I had a Crush on her but I was only 15
I think your sister would love this song.
This is a great song of white funk, congrats, saludos desde México, i will continue your channel :D
Ah,,, I missed you. Blondie is great.
Another great video baby girl 🌸😊
many thanks ☺️
Second run-through lyric should be "once had love and it was a gas. Soon turned out to be a pain in the ass." Ths is obviously cleaned up. :-)
Yes we all had the hots for Debbie! ☺️
Hi BabyGirl... this was a big disco hit when i was a teenager ... one of her better songs. Enjoy.
Hi Mo. If you like Blondie, then I think you will appreciate Talking Heads. The video for ‘Life During Wartime LIVE Los Angeles 1983’ is particularly special.
"Great, job.😀.
Every schoolboy’s crush, and dads of course.
I'am sorry about my comment about your home country I thought there was something wrong politically ! I love your channel ! 😅😅 oh and by the way I love Blondie !
Guapa como siempre te gusta la buena música un saludo de España
greetings from Mexico
Yeah 😎
I got to see her by accident lol and I was called blondie my whole life, now I see it as im older lol
Oh my lord Debbie Harry!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I loved singer Debbie Harry very much. My ex-wife wasn't happy about that LOL
Great band. Check out "Atomic". All great musicians.
Yeah I had a major crush on her during the 1970s. Of course I could say the same thing about Stevie Nicks
I recommend watching "Dreaming" by Blondie. This video highlights the great drumming by Clem Paul.

High school flashback. I had such a crush on her😊
