Astute observation .. spot on! Even as a 43 year old myself, who has seen his share of things come and go, I've always been quite amazed by her talent and drive. Something I don't say about many artists and even less about most younger artists. I've certainly had moments, where I wondered if music had all gone to hell. Which makes it all the more heartwarming to see young(er) talent like Miley still/again kicking it like it's nobodies business. I'm just a man with an opinion though. Those rock icons definitely have way more merit to recognize the awesome brilliance within Miley.

True she's not an abundantly talented musician like Dolly Parton or Stevie Nicks who write what they perform, something's to be said for her ability to sing (Jolene, 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover.) She's not a musical genius but she's a good performer and good interpreter of songs. Whether this garners her admiration and respect from music fans is truly a personal choice.
