While Alys Karstark is a relatively minor character she is a really good example of how Game Of Thrones stripped many characters introduced during A Feast For Crows and A Dance With Dragons down so much they were the character in just name. While Alys role in the political situation at the wall is very interesting with her marrying into the freefolk Jon Snow had allowed through the wall, in the show her character is stripped of everything that makes Alys well Alys.

*** now i have seen this image being posted and stated as Alys Karstark by said artist, however where it has been reposted countless times without proper crediting it's all a bit muddy, i have seen it posted on at least three Artstation accounts. I think i figured out who to original artist is, and if it is them this may not actually be Alys. I have reached out to who i think the original artist is for clarification and to ensure they are credited correctly.

I forgot they killed off Alys in the show. It drives home another bad example of bad writing, the two young new lords to swear fealty to Jon both die. It would have been a nice thought, them being loyalist to Jon to old age, a new generation of loyal Northern Bannerman.
