A 5-10 Billion dollar investment would be enough as a starter, in collaboration with TSMC. I mean the prosects are literally immense, only sky is the limit, it must be our strategic priority ASAP !! and that too in the midst of Global Chip shortage. We already have world class chip designers, most of whom working for R&D centers of Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, Samsung, Texas Instruments, ARM, Nvidia etc, India is actually the biggest base for these MNCs outside US. We have the Talent, we have the minds, Govt is prioritizing on PLI and direct incentives for chip production, we need to fire up our Billionaires, industrialists, they need to come up, A strategic partnership with TSMC and Investing on Fabless chip designing startups can do wonders for our country, it can literally change the fortune of our electronic industry in next 10 years. Having used shakti architecture and being a part of the official Swadeshi uP challenge, this chipset has a huge potential, but currently there are some problems with the sdk which will affect the adoption of this architecture. This is the main reason why it is not being utilised widely, it is still in its nascent stage, especially from the software and library side. But once that is overcome, it should soon flood the indian markets.

@@tmadvillain4028 When it comes down to business and saving money, everything is replaceable. Think about this. Linux is used everywhere instead of windows or Mac (especially in severs, because companies can save money and can do their own modifications in it). Blender is getting popularity in 3d space (even gareeb's 3d scenes are made in blender), ubisoft is investing heavily in it as well and many animation companies are starting to use it instead Maya or 3ds max (closed source software). Every time a chip maker makes an ARM chip, they have to give ARM royalty fees. RISC-V, being completely open source allows anyone to make or design chip without giving them any fees. And modifications made by one company can be used by others as well(if they decide to share or donate it). RISC's biggest downside is that it isn't mature yet for commercial purposes right now. Open source stuffs do generally take some time to develop until they are massively adopted by the industry.

You don't always need SOC for a phone, for example, LIBREM 5 uses an I.MX8M CPU from NXP and separate modem and WiFi cards on dedicated m.2 slots.

they need lot of development yet, today even 20 years old intel pentiums are faster than shakti I variant, adnd the one which i use i5 can overclock max to nearly 4.5 ghz while shakti is 2.5 Ghz so u wont be able to run games and stuff. But it will support windows 10, today we use 14nm archtiecture shakti is old needs to grow to be compared

If you have studied history of computer, computer science and engineering then you already know these kind of things takes time to get a good handle.
Intel took 50+ years to what they have now.
Indian home grown microprocessor needs a lot of time to do this.
You can say 20+ years to get really mature that it will be available in every government organisations.

With today's update... It really made me proud that India is at verge of massive transformation...(pls pray we don't get another Nambi Narayanan). Almost 3-decades ago as far as I recollect.. Intel had started commercial production of CISC based CPU..and at that time..all legacy server's CPU were RISC based. Slowly, as Intel gained RISC was sliping down. And now this...the opportunity for Shakti family of CPUs is tremendous as rightly said in vdo... major focus on Embedded CPUs should be done and I believe they're doing so...and second priority should be..(imo) on SOC .. it will be real game changer...👍👍👍
All the best to Shakti team.

democracy hai bhai. communist country nahi hai india. democracy mein aisa hi hota hai. sab slow.. freedom hai na sabko.. china mein goverment kuch laya tho chup chap karlenge sab. koi against gaya tho jail mein rakenge. india mein koi rule aata hai tho sab opposition party lagtha hai darne mein. caa , farmer protest he sab example hai. kaam karne nahi deta hai opposition party.
