You made a perfect sleeper "Hot Hod" out of that second one. And, I'm inclined to agree that this was a prime starter example of Chevy's best years ever, the 50's, save for the '59s, of which the new El Camino eclipses the rest of the year's controversially flavored line. The '57s, and I'm with the world on THIS one, steal all other years.

Beautiful models!!! One wasthe color of my 1951 four-door Chevy Fastback I had in 1964-1966. It was painted Ruby Maroon by an auto company called Earl Scheib in CA.
I found a Carter-side draft tri-power set-up that came from a 1953 Corvette Blue Flame engine, but was at a hot rod store for sale. I know not a model part, but had the fastest Chevy six-cylinder around. I built many model cars in junior high, but built my last one with my oldest son who was in 8th grade then. It was painted the original paint scheme from the Original Big Foot Monster Truck. I do have an original 1951 AMT 1951 Fastback in the box. My favorite model was a 1957 Chevy two-door custom that was painted candy turquoise blue, with small white corduroy for tuck and roll seat covers, fuel injection, red engine and gold engine compartment, aftermarket wire wheels and a smoothed, no chrome front and rear design, like today's cars. I copied a 1957 Chevy' rearend I saw one day. it had red plexiglass in the fin with a 1959 caddy bullet tail-light at the bottom. I entered it in several model car contests and always took 1st place. BTW, I still have that 1957 Chevy plus all my other models.

Too much to say about this car, your videos, and you, but here goes. I am on my second attempt of this kit, with the intent to build as close of a replica of my real car that is being built for me, a 1950 Fleetline Deluxe, only a 4-door (easier to get the grandkids in and out of the back seat). This is the exact color of the real thing, and I can only hope it turns out looking as good as your model!!. As for my attempt at the model, I'll never come close. But I am obsessed with your skill at applying metal foil. This has led me to viewing every video of yours on the subject and therefore, a lot more, as well. You have become one of my CZcams heroes.
It also led me to watch your video regarding the Coup. After watching this, you are decidedly one of my heroes. All I want to say is, I live in Minnesota, am a fairly privileged (but worked for it) older white guy, slightly left of center, and I don't care much for our foreign policies. The world, in general, is a mess in terms of governments and politics. Regular people, on the other hand, are pretty much the same everywhere, I have found. So, I don't care what party you belong to, or what your ideological background is; you are a courageous, intelligent, sensible human and artist, and I am very sorry that your country (and mine) is making you feel as at risk as you convey.
I wish it were as easy as saying, if it gets too risky, come to MInnesota. We do have pretty wide open arms for those in need of refuge. But, as I am sure you are aware, we are in the middle of our own political crisis. Somehow, our choice for our next president is between a jackass that wants to build a wall so no one from South of El Paso can ever get here again or a conniving liar that helped set up the mess in your region in the first place.
Maybe I should come and hang out with you. I am always willing to learn from a Master.
I hope you fare well, and can continue to amaze with your craftsmanship in peace. And, thank you.

Thanks for your kind words. I also don't care about the ideology of people watching, and as long as they respect mine, I'll respect theirs. My objective as a channel, is to have a record of my builds, and of the tips and tricks both invented by me, and picked up on forums, that do work. My first objective tough is to show factory stock builds can be fun, and that a factory stock model will always be "in fashion" as rodding and customizing trends go out of date (see the hideous things done in pastel colors in the '80s, or the mega inch wheel trend going on today, with bad designers like Boyd and Foose to blame for. A car, just like it rolled out of the assembly line is atemporal, is of impeccable good taste, and is the hardest to build, as you actually have to replicate exact colors, and how the factory did apply them.
This particular kit, the AMT '51 Chevrolet has a catch on the front end alignment.
Is this your problem?? Making the inner fenders, the fenders, radiator and hood all to fit without leaving gaps, and with perfect chassis alignment, what will avoid the "noose up in the air" stance.
I have two videos coming one about home made tires, and another about the catch, or trick, to make the Chevy front end to work a lot better than if you follow the instructions. Thanks for watching.

It's been awhile since I have been able to work on any model kits (have had several eye surgeries in the past 18 months - cataracts, floaters, vision corrections - on the mend, but a real handicap for small parts!).
Yes!! That is my problem!! I have been looking through you videos and have not come across the one with the "trick" to getting everything aligned. If I have just missed it (a real possibility, given my vision issues) could you be so kind as to post a link to it?
      Thanks!

Really looking forward to giving this kit a go!
Can you tell me how you get a hold of the real springs for the suspension? You’ve done a great job on both Fleetlines!

Another Ford, have you built a 1970 Ford Torino? I think the kit was manufactured by JoHan. It was a snap tight kit molded in yellow. By the way, you and Marcus Cruz make the most beautiful and realistic models. All the best to both of you.

Beautiful built model. I have one myself and somehow sold various pieces I needed for this model with some others I no longer wanted. The hood being one of the needed items. I thought I could simply use the hood from the new bel air but that didn't fit. Maybe I have it glued together with the radiator too tight.
