In this video I will explain an easy way of memorizing polyatomic ions. For a printable list of polyatomic ions click the link below: millingschem.com/wp-content/up...
2 weeks? Our teacher told us about the quiz 5 DAYS before, and she didn't even teach us what polyatomic ions were until 2 days ago. Now I have so little time to memorize all these before Monday :(
Emily Nicole same I have to know all these polyatomic ions and I was like this is way to much for me to memorize. Thank you, now I only have to memorize the ate
The table helped a lot, thank you. Then for charges I just remember that all the -ates that have a subscript of 3 are -1. All the -ates that have a subscript of 4 are -2, except for phosphate(which has a charge of -3). These at least apply to the family ions which I am familiar with.
Omg this concept really helps with hashing out all the ions really easily thank you so much! good example of how knowing a few rules can save you hours of studying
wooooo!! this makes so much sense! my professor had me confused lecture after lecture and I watched and understood it before the video ended!!! Hey thanks @Chem Academy :)
Thanks for this video. I'm in 10th grade and we have to have memorized all 27 of these by 3rd quarter and we've had 3 weeks to start. I struggled through the periodic objective checks (to see how well we're studying them) and after I literally got a 0/27 on one of the quizes I came here. Really saved my upcoming 3rd quarter thanks :)
my teacher never taught any of this. she just gave us the list of polyatomic ions and told us to memorize them. it's a lot easier to memorize when you understand what you're memorizing.
im over 1/2 of the way thru my chem class rn and im now just trying to memorize these (my teacher introduced these to us at the beginning)… this video has help more than anyone else🤞 edit: i also am a former catholic school kid, so it was HARD to grasp even the basics😭😭
Who's doing this the day before the quiz?
Hoops Legion I’m doing this on the day of the quiz
lmao me
lmao that's me
day of
hell yee
I don't understand how this 7 minute video helped more than 2 weeks of my professor telling us "If you don't know the names you're all going to fail".
at least I now know that im not alone with this bs
I KNOOOOW it's bs when it's so easy to go over

I was looking for a catchy chant but hey this helps too
Charts are helpful to many Chemistry students. I created many charts for my students. They are especially helpful for visual learners.
