I’ve been confused on this for so long and have a huge test on it in a few hours. This video just made EVERYTHING make sense. Thanks man I really mean it you just saved me from failing.
Hands down one of the most understandable teachers I have ever seen. If every teacher could teach like this I'm pretty sure the world would be much smarter. great vid
"...and these are just a few of my favorite polyatomic ions..." The best teachers love what they teach and who they teach. Thanks for the assistance my man!
dude it takes you 10-15 minuets to perfectly and effectively explain things it takes my chem teacher 2 days to explain. Like actually, I found your vids, and my grades started rising so I hardly pay attention in class anymore and my grades are doing so much better. Thank you so much.
"Nick the Camel ate clams in Phoenix" is a video on here that helped me to memorize polyatomic ions. This is the only thing missing from Tyler's video!
I’ve been staring at my chemistry book for 5 hours trying to figure out how they were getting these formulas and you’ve just explained it clearly in 10 minutes. Thank you so much.
I believe you have figured out the BEST way of teaching a complex subject like Chemistry, bar none. In other teaching videos, we are left waiting while the instructor writes out words using a pen tablet, sometimes having to correct a mistake. You have the drawings already pre-drawn and you simply pick them up and add them to your teaching canvas. A brilliant use of old-school methods. Your hands help to further guide the student through your incredibly well thought out course. I'm helping my daughter with her Chemistry, and this is what I show to her before we start (and it's what I watch to re-learn Chemistry). I'm really, really impressed.
HONESTLY, GD BLESS YOU TYLER DEWITT. I have anxiety with the amount thats needed to learn in chemistry and you made it so easy!!!!! I wish every professor was like you!
this is my THIRD time taking chem and FINALLY know how to do this just from your videos. keep doing what you doing cause you are helping a lot of people out
this is beyond awesome, I never thought that I could understand this in 5 minutes with no background in chemistry THANK YOU SO MUCH you made me so proud of my self you are the best teacher ever
i knew literally NOTHING about this and this video helped me understand so clearly. He speaks clearly and explains everything in the perfect way. His energy is so helpful and welcoming.. i really love this man
You seriously make Chemistry so much easier. My lectures are so confusing and then I watch your videos and everything makes so much sense! You are amazing! Please keep making these videos you are so easy to understand and make learning fun!!
I know you hear it all the time, but thank you so much Tyler! I was having a hard time understanding ionic compounds, naming ionic compounds with transition metals, and polyatomic ions. With your videos I have successfully learned these things! At the moment I have memorizing my polyatomic ions and I'm hoping to make a excellent grade on my chemistry test in the next week and a half! Thanks again!!!
I do realize this video is a few years old, but I just wanted to say thank you. I was having trouble in my chemistry class until I found out about you and your videos. Its actually less complicated than I thought it was when my teacher was teaching it.
This man is a godsend! IDK why professors make things so complicated. I intend on watching all his videos so I can prep BEFORE class. Thank you and I love you!
Life saver! My college chem teacher pretty much skipped through all of this and expected us to know what he was talking about. I haven't been in hs chem in over 10 years, so I was extremely lost.
You are a lifesaver Tyler! My teacher spent 2 weeks on this in class and I didn't get none of it but you taught me all of it in a 12 minute video. Thanks again!
Why do people dislike a video where there's a man who actually cares about us and spends his time teaching us? Like, why is there even an unlike button?!
This and your beginner video were so wonderful! After watching them, I was thinking why did I make this so hard?! You really made it easy and it finally "clicked", so thank you a lot!!

I'm taking chem for the 1st time ever. I have a great teacher but couldn't wrap my brain around certain concepts. Found your vids, got a 90 on my 1st exam. Rock on!!!
I usually don't comment on videos. But my chemistry teacher had your video to help us learn. I've never really understood how to do this but now I do, thank you!
Dude thanks a lot man . I have a chemistry test and we have been this and moles for months now . And according to our teacher, we need to know how to write ionic equations from word equations even though she didn't actually teach. And this has totally been a life saver. Just knowing how to write chemical equations so fast just makes life wayyy easier. THANKS A LOT DUDEE! YOU'RE THE BESTT!
I am 6 years late, but thank you for making this video! I depend on the Current chem class to get into the degree/program I’m working towards and you just keep making it easier. I keep coming back to watch your videos!
I wish I had a brother like him that could help me through my schooling. I’ve never had support like this and I am so thankful for his examples and teachings
Wow! I can't thank you enough! You have the best teaching method! I watched lectures all year long with my PhD professors (who cannot teach), read my book, tried to watch other videos... but always got stuck on the formulas! It's so clear and easy now!!!!
The way you teach and explain different math and science concepts is by far the best I have ever encountered and seen. I can not express how much time and confusion you have saved me in my learning journey. You deserve an award and if I could ever have you as my teacher, I would be the luckiest high school student ever! :)
Hi, thanks for uploading this tutorial for ionic compounds and I can't thank you enough, you are stellar, amazing teacher, and you saved my problem after watching two of your videos on ionic compounding. Thanks again for all this help, it's really paid off! :D
Thank you so much 😭 May god bless you 😇. The way you again n again took the periodic table & polyatomic ions chart after every new formula making shows your patience & dedication to make others understand concepts ezily 🥺😭👍.

Many polyatomic ions end in "ate" and "ite". Monoatomic anions end in "ide". Exception to "ide" ending is hydroxide (OH-) and cyanide (CN-) ions.
