    This is the OST to Super Contra for the NES! But in my own form of Stereo! Which spreads the sound channels and adds a bit of echo/reverb. These mixes also do not represent true, original, or actual stereo that the NES has, this is just to make the music sound more clear and crisp, and is another way of listening to the greatness of 8Bit music. So enjoy this soundtrack in what I like to call, WiiGuy's 8Bit Stereo!! :D

      Oh yeah this is one of the best Contra games to me, first Contra is too easy, but this one, more challenging and fun!

    • @2ndLastStarfighter
      @2ndLastStarfighter Před 10 lety +2

      Without comparing the sequels that went to disc (ps1 and on), Super C is probably my fave of the series too! It just had a great overall flow to the game! Like Wiiguy says, Contra 1 was too easy can easily be finished without dying. I never got to play Contra 3 on nes, Genesis Contra was over the top hard and although the wolfman and robot were cool characters, they kind of took away the "traditional" Contra feel. Contra: Alien Wars was great, but the top view levels were too gimmicky for me and points lost for not bringing back Lance (Sly) & Bll (Arny)!

    • @KevinStriker
      @KevinStriker Před 10 lety +9

      2ndLastStarfighter
      Contra: Pretty easy, especially with the code. Beaten it numerous times on XBLA.
      Super C: My personal favorite.
      Contra III: The Alien Wars: I'd go a step further and say that the overhead stages are fucking terrible and disorienting.
      Contra Force: Terrible, the only reason I want it is because my friend owns it and he lost the game like a dumbass and the soundtrack is pretty cool.
      Contra: Hard Corps.: DEAR GOD, this game is hard but damn, it hurts so good. Easily my pick for the better of the two 16 BIT Contra games.
      AND BONUS FEATURE:
      Operation C: It's Super C, with Contra's music, on the go. PLAY IT.

    • @Sextus70
      @Sextus70 Před 8 lety +3

      Having played Contra, Super C, Contra III and Contra Hard Corps (I haven't finished this one though), I would also rank them like that. Super C is the best I've played so far in all aspects IMO.
      The first Contra is a piece of cake when you realize that S+R weapon makes you virtually unstoppable. In Super C it still gives a massive advantage (especially against some really annoying bosses) but it is harder to keep through the game because the levels and enemy spawning are more random, which makes each playthrough different and, therefore, special and challenging in an entertaining way.
      Contra III is also pretty hard and fun, but I also found the overhead stages to be a pain in the ass and, personally, I didn't find the soundtrack and level design as great as the ones from the NES games.
      In any case, it is one of the best 2D action games series ever made and an excellent pastiche/homage to 80's sci fi action movies, especially from the AvP universe. They literally touched the line of "ripoff" putting carbon copies of the xenomorphs (and even Engineer helmets) in some stages. Thank god nobody went ridiculous because of that like nowadays and tried to sue Konami.

    I loved the orchestra hit in this soundtrack. It totally got you pumped. Sadly, Konami began to use that sound way, way too often in subsequent soundtracks to the point where it began to overshadow the otherwise great tunes. Sunset Riders and TMNT4 come to mind. As a kid, whenever I'd hear orchestra hits any place after, say 1992, I'd instantly thinik, there's the "Konami sound." It seemed somehow more epic when used sparingly in this and other NES (especially) soundtracks back in the day.

Along with Shattered Soldier and Hard Corps WHICH ALSO managed to get the level of kickassery contained in the gameplay/music right, you know, the feeling when you launch the game and instantly know it's gonna be fully badass to the end. Shattered soldier ESPECIALLY has a badass soundtrack, I recommend checking it out.

    It's not just you. The theme seems like it's being played multiple times faster than what we remember from the game. Damn shame.... I rather like that piece.

    Also, Wiiguy, I have a request. It is for a Famicom game called Mitsume ga Tooru, it has an awesome soundtrack! Love to hear that in stereo!

    The Babalu track is at 2X. It's not that fast in the game.

    anyone know what this game has in relation to the aliens franchise. I swear when I was little and playing this game, there was one level where these things looked like alien eggs with facehuggers jumping out of them. Also the final boss looks like that thing in the movie prometheus.

      Good question, the only relation is that the artists at Konami apparently were fans of H.R. Giger and they "copied" his art style into some of their games, in some Irem games like X-Multiply there is much organic and grotesque art too so i figure that japanese loved the Aliens or Giger art style, and in Konami´s Galactic Warriors even there is a character named Giger.

    Steel Spider sounds sped up. Also, you forgot the thunder to start off the first stage. =P

    Why does 'Babalu Defense Mechanism' sounds speed up in all uploads on CZcams (except one)?

    Hey man, newer fan of this series here but is there a reason some of the recent uploads don't have a d/l link? I've actually been getting these and jamming out while making a game of my own lately haha, anyways keep up the good work! Would love to snag this ost off you if you ever post a link
