Hey y'all sorry for the editing error in this video. Two clips were put in opposite order at around 5:06. hopefully the message of that part wasn't lost in translation, but basically the fallout that I was referring to is that a roundtable that was supposed to be this friday has been rescheduled
I'm not going to believe that the devs are willing to listen to feedback until they show it. How many people have complained about the gold skeleton keys not being in darkmoor and nothing has changed. How many times do they have to tell us no more pay to win packs before they stop doing it. They have lied and disrespected the community so many times that all trust is just gone.
This, talk is cheap... Unfortunately wiz is not cheap either with all these pay to win packs!
Im sorry we gotta realize at the end of the day. kingsisle and wizard101 are a company that needs to make money!! Shocker! The only people contributing to the games lifespan is people actively buying memberships. Anything wizard101 such as crowns. This game is old. Sometimes we gotta see it from their point of view also. The whole crowns into the argument shouldnt even be addressed until other problems (that’s actually involve playing the game) are fixed.. (im also saying that in a nicest way possible for me atm)
@@XxJokerxX_ The biggest problem that wizard101 has is keeping player retention, people play the new world and are done with the game after 2-3 weeks then wait a whole year for the next world. If they gave players interesting and meaningful side content that isn't just for hardcore players then people would keep playing and keeping their membership going and potential spend more money on crowns. There are plenty of ways to make money from players then just taking advantage of your player base but it is the easiest and laziest way to do it. That's why almost every game now a days is chalk full of ways to squeeze money out of players with out giving them compelling content. Which is why a lot of live service games have failed recently.

@@XxJokerxX_ The game has been out for 15 years they have had plenty of time to do this it's not like it's a brand new game. I understand they need to make money but expecting players to just pay them for stuff and not expect the game get more content or just get better over time is a fantasy that people need to wake up from. If you expect me to fork over money for stuff in the game then I would expect the game to expand and evolve over these last 15 years. There are plenty of small indie studios that pump out more content then this game has recently.
Long story short, KI is behind on game progression & evolution. They’re so used to the old gimmick from the 2010s but gaming is much different & it’ll need a overhaul of updates to actually make the game the price they want

Listen, action always speaks louder than words. KI has made it very clear they don’t care about their audience.
What people take for granted is that the community is actually addressing all of this and talking about it. Go to wow and they EMBRACE the negativity and just say “this is just how the game is if you don’t like it quit or “git gud”. Also people should recognize you attract your own attitude I’ve met nothing but nice people in these 3 weeks playing.
Exactly. I haven’t even done more than the average talk to communicate going to a location, what to do, or asking for help on a general bases and have little issue. Sure there is some social social talk as well and and like inviting people to wiz homes, but you find your people. There will always be assholes saying horrible things and false reporting.
Just like in real life, you find your own people or associate with what sounds pleasing or familiar to yourself. If you go out of your way to find trouble or escalate a situation that was toxic, that’s on you.
No one asked for a dungeon that would be like a raid, who tf asked for that? All we wanted was something like darkmoor or Tartarus.
Also the damage cap on pve is dogwater, it makes the incentive to farm nightmare little to none.
I just find it funny that they wanna be more receptive to feedback but I got muted for 3 months for no real reason given and so when I emailed them to ask to either remove the mute or to please clarify what I did wrong.....instead of giving me an answer they ignored me and simply extended my mute to an entire YEAR, this time without even a confirmation/notification email.
Instead of removing the wrongful mute or even giving me a specific reason why I was muted they basically just said "eff you for even asking, take a year long mute for even DARING to contact support" :T
Dude tell me about about it, you think thats bad? they banned my previous 2 accounts for getting security questions wrong that were years old when I contacted them through email. Hundreds of dollars wasted easily. They thought I had gave my password away like some dumbass but those questions themselves were very specific and I didnt even get a second chance to answer them just straight perm ban.

Their customer service is out-sourced, it's not actually KI that engages with their players when u contact them for mutes, bans etc. u can see how that can result in a more cold attitude for these things.

From what I've gathered (and if any of this is wrong or misguided someone pls correct me), it seems like the Roundtable wasn't necessarily planned to begin with, or at least planned with the expectation of so many CCs. I think the idea of the Roundtable was fantastic, but maybe not executed to it's fullest potential. That's not hate on anyone that participated in it or hosted it, because like I said I don't think it was expected to be as big as it was. I think with more planning, CCs could have the opportunity to formulate their thoughts, opinions, and suggestions more thoroughly so that it doesn't result in unnecessary hate from an individual or a collective. It's the internet and unfortunately opinions and feelings can be misinterpreted sometimes. Blatant disrespect however, should never be tolerated and the community as a whole has unfortunately succumb to a lot of negativity lately. I think that's ultimately a byproduct of a lot of the community feeling like they aren't being heard by KI. I hope they actually do go through with a Roundtable next week and invite some major CCs into it, but it needs to be a healthy balance of players that enjoy the challenge that some raids and other content bring, as well as people that enjoy the lighter side of this game. At the end of the day a healthy discourse is built on good listening and respect. And it seems like for some reason that many people struggle with that, no matter what side of the aisle they fall on when it comes to the game. Because at the end of the day, we all want the same thing and that's for this game to continue to grow and reach heights it's never seen. I don't want it to be like "good old days," I want it to be even better than that.

long story short they said we dont care if u have opinions pr suggestions which is positive or negative; but dont bully anyone online. i dont particularly think the game systems, stupid packs or crown milking unnecessary content will be removed any time. if they wanted to make the game livelier what they had to was really simple; make interesting spell mechanics, make them look cool or epic again, make first arc free, make pvp friendlier for multiple people again, and focus on updating visuals while maintaining the art style. As a person which grew up with w101 i can definitely say that everytime i listen to the music of the game, im hoping that one day the game's overall quality can catch up to the game's music quality. KI will never change, and if im ever wrong, reply to this comment so that i can take back what i said gratefully.

I’ve been playing this game since it’s been released. I’ve seen a lot, and I don’t think that game got that bad. The problem is that we don’t get rewarded enough. For example, you can do Darkmoor 10 times, and still not get the thing you came for, but they will force those expensive bundles down your throats. I remember buying cool stuff at the bazaar, now there is literally nothing to buy over there that actually worths something. The problem is that everywhere you move, they ask for your money. At level 100 we have only one dungeon that will give us all same gear, the gear that at least does something, and how do they expect us to enjoy playing game and create our style of playing? my main problem is that we dont have a choice anymore of anything, besides spending money, and gambling eventualy…

As much as I want to listen to KI saying they want to listen but why should the players do so? They proven that they have listened for somethings but for a lot of the problems over the years they been deaf over plus they allowed jaders and cheaters to get away with their stuff over the years and now they want to say they will listen? What KI can do is actually do is to let their action show what they mean not what they say since they been doing a lot of actions that say otherwise.
This game has made changes that were unnecessary. I used to PvP all the time then I stopped with all these extra changes.
So, a couple points stand out: While I found that the dungeon was unusually tough, I did not find it unfairly so. However, when you wait minutes to get a team in a brand new dungeon, then yes, maybe it's too tough (or too many people complained and that scared others away?). The other thing is that I did not follow the roundtable, but the whole concept reminds me of hazing; it can get toxic very quickly - don't know if it was, but the fallout certainly was. Also, too much negativity will make people tonedeaf after a while. If you want things to change, constructive feedback is much better than negativity. The other point I hear a lot is that the new gear is not THAT much better than aeon. But do we realllly want it to be? How high can damage and resist go and not be ridiculous. I find it interesting and challenging to consider carefully, which stats to boost, even by just a bit, and which ones to let fall behind. Which older gear might better complement newer stats. The META does not have to be one set only.

old games like this are f2p and rely heavily on the cash store rather than a membership. Somehow people are paying both a membership AND buying things from the crown store.. yikes. can't imagine still paying membership to a greedy company who doesn't even care about the community.
Its sad that KI was genuinely trying to listen this time. But while they wanted the specifics from the community on what to fix, the Communites content creators were going back and fourth, so that made their viewers do the same.. Im not sayin anything ofc. Im jus saying like if your a content creator for a game like wizard101 that has a relatively small player base compared to the bigger games, there is no room or need to publicly Diss eachother. Now we as a player base missed a perfect opportunity (for now) to genuinely tell the devs actual change that needed to be done. No one person is to be blamed..

So here are a few questions I'd like to see the devs answering:
1-How real is it to expect Wizard101 to be moved on to a new and better engine?
2-What do the devs think of the early paywall? Is it going to be pushed forward? If so when? And if not, why?
3-Is there going to be a definite level cap? Or is the idea to keep increasing It?
4- Are they aware of the ridiculous high barrier to entering PvP for a brand new player? If so, is there any intent to lower it? And how?
5- What do they think of pet training? Is it working the way they intend? Or they do want to change It? If so how and when?
6- How do the devs feel about the fact energy has become very limiting in terms of what one can do due to the fact It is shared by more than one type of activity? On that note, what is the point of energy? Is it to make money? Or is it made to address certain issues with the activities? If it's the second option isn't better to just fix the design flaws that could potentially make the activities problematic instead of putting this "currency" time gating important parts of the game?
7- Why is the overly censored chat still in game and why is it needed to pay to actually get access to a more user friendly chat? Isn't It ridiculous to keep the ability to talk freely in an mmo behind a pay wall? Is an update to the chat a realistic expectation? If so, when?
8- What do the devs think about loot crates and keeping certain important pieces of gear behind them? If the game is targeted at kids ( which I suppose came up in the answer to question 7), aren't packs a bit dangerous? Even excluding the kid's argument, I think overall the community dislikes pack opening. Are the devs aware of that? Do they intend on changing it?
These are the ones i have at the top of my head now. Also keep in mind I don't usually follow much of what is happening in social media, I just play the game. So if either of these already have been answered ,let me know. Thank you!
They need to stop making raid gear meta for PvP or make a PvP version of raid gear so many people can’t PvP without it and it’s very inaccessible for most

The fact that I’ve spent $900 just to have the membership to play a free game is bad enough, let alone the fact that the game isn’t even fun anymore. The end of this month will be the first time since I was 7 that I won’t have a membership, and I don’t think I’ll miss it.
This was one of the quickest replies by KI I've seen and it was so well worded to stay neutral on the subject.
All gaming communities express their opinions about the direction of their game and its development team. I value and respect people's feelings, but I have noticed a lack of interest (or something else) in this game's current state. While it's unfortunate that KingsIsle is small, does that mean we should remain silent if we see a decline or change? Are we not allowed to ask questions about the game's future or its appeal to the developers? It's not that personal. Ratbeard is known for raising his voice and expressing frustration during live streams. In fact, this is one of the reasons why I no longer attend them. Why should we be afraid to ask questions if developers can get irritated regardless of what you ask? As for the "boycott", that's no different than players saying, "I'm quitting."

In defense of whatever boycott was called, this really comes from just too much being wrong with the game and/or how long the constructive feedback has been put out there and gone unnoticed or cared about. Straight up boycotts come from a visceral place where the veil is lifted and the gloves come off as a thing you love continues to have evidence thrown at it that it is just like everything else and is pure ethic free economics giving out as little as possible and raking in as much as possible. So while the point about protections on one rhetoric but not on another is well taken, the negativity on the boycott end comes from calling out bs once it reaches a certain critical mass. All people have, at the end of the day, is the ability to vote with their wallets. And in a world where that is actually insanely hard to collectively do because of the reward/punishment psych that goes into everything now, it is not an unfair rhetoric, by any measure. Maybe rude, but kind of the last line of defense so... maybe respect the lack of respect just a little bit.. lol
Ultimately, I doubt anyone really agrees with trying to boycott the game as well - too many whales lol. The criticism of KI comes from a place of love for the game, we just hope they will hear our voices. There's really a lot wrong with this video, but everyone's entitled to their own opinions on the situation!

I believe the phrase used on the roundtable was something along the line of "by god, we will boycott" to which several people agreed. Who boycotts a game that they actually love first off? and how is that not something people could have a problem with?

It's a case of saying it in the heat of the moment, nobody's going to actually boycott the game. I agree overall with it but I think society today is too quick to cancel or hate. Disagreeing with the popular opinion is a good thing not a bad thing and people need to stop hating on someone just for their opinion no matter what it is about any subject. I just think if you feel a certain way about something, you shouldn’t be worried you are going to be hated or canceled for it.
I think it's important that we all see the big picture here. The majority of us have been playing the game for over a decade now. We're passionate about it. We want it to keep growing in a respectful way. But can we do that with narcissistic intentions? No. There's a way to voice an opinion reasonably, and they aren't meant to overshadow other opinions. We're creating more problems by back stabbing each other like some online civil war and it needs to stop.
Major problem for Wizard101 is their refusal to grow, I still play to this day yet the reason why other games have been successful over long periods of time is that they adapt with newer generations. Wizards101 has always been the same in the worst ways and different in the worst ways.

i’ll start putting money into the game when they make the first arc free. games been out for like 10+ years yet nothing. yes we get times where it’ll be free for a month. but realistically who plays for that entire month. you’ll play one or 2 days and realize we’ll i won’t be able to continue so there’s no point. give people a reason to play. id rather spend $15 for wow rather than $10 a month for wiz rn
i remember when the first arc was free and it was fun to try it out. I want to get back into but i dont want to spend $10 just for me to potentially play it for a couple of days. It also makes it harder to suggest this game to friends.

I absolutely agree with the fact that you should be able to state your opinion without someone being rude just because we may not see things the same way. Ki also I believe is trying but also they do need to try and stick to what they say. Into today's world you also need a backbone when you get lashed out by sadly.
Honest if we could talk without fighting I do believe we could find common ground in someway or at least find solutions that fit for both sides. Yeah we may have to give up something to get something but the other side would as well so we could reach a grounding point to work off of.

I feel a great divide coming hope the game doesn’t die off been playing for 10 plus years would love to see a wizard101 2 but that will probably never happen. I do feel like spending less time grinding for gear and more time enjoying the game would overall be one of the best decisions they could make.
you kept saying disagreement is good and of course it is, that's literally the point of the cc discussion to get people together to voice their differing concerns about the state of the game and they were all receptive and respectful to differing opinions. That person did not just disagree.. because if they did then this wouldn't have been a problem.
I would love if you were in a roundtable with the other content creators to have a more planned and organized discussion, please think about it! It's super important for us as a small community to come together and maturely voice our concerns for the game we love and want to see live. We see that the devs ARE trying to be receptive and are listening or lurking, so something like this would be very beneficial. Though I dont personally agree with a lot of what you say, you are respectful in sharing your opinions and that's when opinions are truly productive. Because every subset of this community's concerns and POV is valid and should not be invalidated by each other.
So we are currently having a CIVIL WAR at this point lol

The biggest reason I buy one month of membership and play the game once a year is because they've simply ruined PvE. I'm not going to continue actively supporting a game that I don't enjoy anymore however it is important to speak out about your opinions to help make change.
Technically, anyone can boycott anything they want. The problem is some people take it every wrong, from what I know about what's going on, the community round table was just trying to vent about how they feel about the game, sometimes people don't listen. So boycotting is very common. Honestly I just think wizard101 to fix this issue just needs to work more on making the game more fun for everyone, stop working on big updates and just work on problems players have made aware, rather it be bugs or old systems. In the end it would be better for the community, and they could also send or use the team that still needs to work, rather it just be one or two members to work on their other games. Also sorry if any spelling mistakes extremely tired.
They need to bring back non turned based pvp, bring back the old people from the game and bring back meta changes in pvp. I quit since turned based pvp was a thing, if they implement a game mode where we can either do non turned based and turned based in one setting, then it would bring back a lot of player base.

Hey Sauce, unrelated to the current drama theres's some potentially good news to talk about. Did you see Wizard101 was spotted officially uploading a tiny bit of the W101 OST on CZcams ~48hrs ago under the "Nelson Everhart - topic" channel? I predict maybe the devs might be bringing the OST to streaming platforms soon bc this is the most official thing they've seemingly done OST-wise since the vinyl release.
Maybe it'd be worth a discussion about W101's OST, why it should be released,and if it will. Just a suggestion bc I'd like to see your thoughts on it in light of the current negativity surrounding W101 currently👍
I just hope that the Game will find back to old shine. Maybe listening to positive and negative feedback is the first step to change some major Problems. But i think that there are also some good things about the Game. I mean there aren't many Server left where you can enjoy the game. I'm German and the German server is Dead...

I think that that's also a great Problem. The Game needs to get a Big Rework. All those little Add Ons are fine but won't bring new people into the game or make Them try it. The Game need's a Fundament which is on standards today. It is great that the First areas are free for some weeks. To catch more player you need to make them want to continue and that doesn't Happen after krokotopia.
I think this all started from fairy wanting to start drama by purposefully acting like she is more upset than she really is, and almond just being burnt out and being rude that day.

Even with the nerf it's just a bad dungeon, quite literally a nightmare. Luckily for storm the stat changes are so miniscule that it doesn't mean much but running it with random teams taking up to 2 hours is awful and now with people who sabotage it by doing pump when it's not even set and then just logging off. I did a run today where it was 3 people at the final boss and I died and after we beat it I got 0 loot after looking for dream water for 2 hours I was devastated. There's a lot to be fixed, I love the game but I don't feel like coming back until things are better again.
You know that 2 hour dungeons were how the game always was? When Darkmoor first released, that’s how long it usually took with randoms.

I will blamed KI for doing this but why they made nightmare gear look like alien zombies appearances? What are they thinking? Are this a sign that wizards101 shutting down? Well as for me I like the quest and I don’t like pvp? Why? As far as I know from the past 25-30 years playing a game nothing good that came out from pvp except HATRED! The wizards101 quest is nice but it will become good if every class have different quest and that would be awesome! It’s just my opinion how about those who read this? What is your opinion!

this is far from the game i knew when i first started playing. I gave a listings of what happened in about two or so posts ago. The game improved . IMHO , KI was doing small things that was causing stress to the player base. after a certain point the player base aka the round table formed as the standard Nightmare mode was the last straw.

I started playing the game when it first came out i want to say 2009 hearing blaze zenmasterblue doing walkthroughs. Yes everything has changed tremendously. Let me start by saying this is a pay to win game the amount of money you have to pay for gear drop rates on packs are horrible could be spending north of 100 dollars for some gulthure where its not even the school you are playing for ridiculous. To sit here and say they are listening is by far obnoxious given how many people have complained about the same issues and nothing has been done to help the players in the community. The amount of farming for some gear is crazy seriously. I just hope ki changes things fast before their community completely dies down to the point of no return.

Normally, I disagree with a lot of your takes but I am with you on this one. We had someone come into the Official Wiz Discord server pretending to be AlyssaLove and they were saying some really nasty shit. It was so bad.
yeah one thing that I dont think I touched on as much in this video is that people are attacking those that participated in the roundtable using methods like what you just mentioned as well which is really really whack

did you watch the video? Not a single soul that is making this argument is acknowledging that the people on the roundtable were also rude towards the devs with MULTIPLE comments. I'll ask to you even though every time I ask, this question is met with silence. Why are some people being held "accountable" for being disrespectful and others aren't?
@@AwesomeTheSauce Maybe because we're tired of the game being bad, the devs not listening to us and our complaints just going unheard year by year. Actually, instead we just learnt to have to adapt to whatever changes they make and keeping quiet/ or talking to deaf ears. Rude or not, the roundtable brought a lot of points that resonated with the community and people like almond just childishly called it a yapping fest, alongside other childish remarks.
Maybe the truth is we dont care that much about whats being said to the devs, sue me, but they could defend themselves if they felt strongly about it.
End of the matter is the unbalanced reaction you're seeing is people feeling personally slighted by almond, whereas nobody really feels insulted by them being rude to the devs, except the devs of course.
@@megrocks3026 that sounds to me like a double standard. and i think when you are disrespectful (even for good reason) and get deeply offended by someone else being disrespectful (even if they're not doing it for good reason), it simply gets in the way of honest dialogue. thats why I think the fallout of many discussions about how to improve the game can so easily devolve the way they have.
