as a Life main... I absolutely love it. Fun spells, easy to blade up and heal yourself, very forgiving for newbies, and just awesome aesthetics. Not to mention that it's great for both solo/team play. I understand why it's not higher on your list though :)
Anytime I farm with a team I’m the healer and I love it! It’s funny because my actual job is a caregiver so I guess that makes sense. It’s in my personality I guess 😉
I loved playing life, I soloed most of the grandfather spider arc and only didn’t solo the dungeons that no normal leveled wizard could solo. The surplus of health made blade stacking super easy and after forest lord it was a much easier time.
my only issue with life was getting a attack aoe so late. It was frustrating griding out kills as a begginer but yeah high health with constant healing just made long battles but you eventually wins. Damage wasnt bad
honestly i agree with you on myth, but one thing i will add is that the spells are actual monsters from myths and stuff so that made it more fun for me. I don't agree with you on storm though because storm is like living on the edge cause you either die or one shot.
@@FrostySnow1000 I'm saying myth has the most though, the other schools occasionally have monsters from mythology but pretty much all of myth damage spells are based off of a mythological monster.
@@FormalPhantom im gonna say that damaging for ice has made my brain go when i saw the damage hit to one million damage with all buffs because i was messing around bosses like rank 14 to rank 20 the penguins are like a nuclear weapon then other spells i saw from people didn't make the nuclear damage that i keep one shotting everything in my path and ice should be a s tier because it is the meta on the game right now and death wizards don't live that long as ice wizards witch shouldn't surpised people ice can support of staying alive while your teamates get health
I think it mostly comes down to what role you like playing if you’re more of a support type character you’re going to connect more with life and balance and enjoy playing it, on the contrary I think if you love being the main character and have people support you you’ll lean more towards fire storm type schools.

I’ll admit Balance is really hard and annoying to play as at times, especially soloing, but there are moments where I’m having way more fun than I should be. I’m probably the only person who loves spectral minion due to how much they bullied the Dragonspyre, Grizzlehiem, and some of the Celestia bosses for me.
I play Fire, Storm, Life, and Death, but I find Balance to be the most fun school, because I like playing on a team. Everyone wants Balance on their team, because blades and traps are what make it easy for a Life wizard to get "one in a million".
I feel like the big difference between ice and life is that ur not always healing all the time. It still feels competitive and rewarding to throw out a strong defense with attacks mixed in. “Sometimes the best offense is a good defense” definitely applies here
Yeah, there's nothing worse for saving for a big attack and having to heal and use the pips you saved. Biggest issue with life and made fights long, even if you win.
As a max storm wizard I completely agree with you on your ranking of the school. It's my fave school to play, battle with, and main but at the same time, yes, everything is extremely formulaic. It can be fun at times and soloing makes it a little more fun as the little health you get makes fights thrilling with the worry of killing before dying but that's about it. You become so extremely powerful and it feels so good but then realize there's no fun in it anymore, so I agree. Great video btw it was really cool to hear your thoughts on the schools, also death ranking is completely true that school is much more fun than storm and my death is still 130👍
For balance, that depends on which “hard worlds” you’re talking about. I soloed a decent portion of lemuria and karamelle, for example, on my balance, with relative ease and non-optimal gear (not full damage glass, I’m pretty sure I had only one or two dragoon pieces when I went through both of them). I guess at the end of the day, it depends on what makes a school fun to play for you.
It seems to me that fixing Balance would require a pretty fundamental change in its mechanics--such as the option to choose a damage type with an added card-on-card effect. And that might be too much work to ask the dev team for. For Myth, an added mechanic similar to pet-casting might be enough to make minions drastically more useful: give conjurers the option to choose the minion's target each round, or even just to toggle between attack/no attack.
There is an advantage in battle for Ice Wizards, and that being lots of health, resistance, and overall defence. If you put Training Points into the Death Element for example, you then have high defence and great damage output.
Also - I know you mentioned they’re a lot of work but I would LOVE if you brought back “the complete history of”. They were extremely well researched and I’m sure I speak for a few of us when I say that we don’t mind waiting for them!
What I dislike about life and balance is that others EXPECT you to support them. On the other side, as a storm you NEED a team to support you. I like to be independent and I love death, because it's excellent solo, but awesome as a support as well.
I'm playing balance with some friends right now so in a team setting it is a pretty fun time imo, but solo I cannot imagine how painful that would be if I'm honest, so I can see why it ranked so low in a solo environment but team definitely feels more fun. maybe you could make a tier list in a team setting?
I love death purely for the convenience. I’m Australian so I typically play when the main player base is asleep. I cannot imagine hot stunted my progress would be if I had to rely on others and team up!
As a balance main, I agree completely with what you said about it 😂 though I will say it's nice playing with other people and being able to support them
in order to have fun questing, you have to choose a school that you like its element and aesthetic. Personally i like waterbending, rain, lightning so i really enjoy playing storm even though i have a myth and fire wizard.
You should’ve mentioned the fact that fire wizards have access to a 100% accurate meteor storm from the kookoobura. Really helps pyromancer breeze through early arcs
I can see why you put storm in the D category. Even though storm is my main wizard, I can see why a lot of people don't find it all too fun. It is really easy to get through enemies. You basically blade and hit with how much damage it has (especially in high levels). In my opinion, starting out as a storm was a lot more fun until I got waterworks gear. After that it became really easy. And it is pretty easy to solo. It became less of a challenge. But I wanted it to be my max and so it was done. Lol However, lemuria made it a bit challenging for me to solo on my storm. A lot of the time i had to use team up. I actually like that. It brought the fun back in.

Oh come on, life is so rough at first but picks up fast later on and does good damage and self sustain. As a fire main it makes sense you don’t think it does damage, but it’s up there, and can keep itself alive if it gets unlucky. I guess if you don’t like healing and support you wouldn’t enjoy it. But for those who do I think it’s a fun class to feel like you are carrying others through.

Balance is the jack of all trades. Lower damage but more access to other schools. Now if youre soloing or trying to hit its outclassed by other classes.
As someone who’s main wizard is a Balance. Other then Death, Balance has been the easiest for me and I usually have the most fun with him with little to no difficulty. It’s my personal favorite school. Also, to me playing as a Balance Wizard really makes you look the most like a “main character”. Like, you are the main character no matter what school you play of course but balance really gives out that “you’re the main character in this big epic adventure” kind of vibe. Probably just something that makes sense to me. To each their one though.
Balance is the most fun- youre never relegated to just one role. If youre solo-ing, you can pull out your attack deck. Lots of different spells to choose from. If you go up against balance enemies, you have elemental spells to use. Then if you are on a team, theres lots of utility you can provide. Elemental/spirit shields and blades/traps plus the balanceblades. Balance offers the most variety and is most open to different playstyles.
As a Life main, myself, I think I know why you have it ranked lower than Ice. The first third of the game is mainly where my problems lie with Life as a hitting class. Just like Death, the class doesn’t get its first trainable AoE until level 48, whereas Ice gets one as early as level 26, in the form of Blizzard. Having to be almost finished with the first story arc before you get Forest Lord can be very much torturous. All Life can access at that stage is Kookaburra’s Leafstorm, which you have to really buff up to do decent damage. That kind of challenge was something I really admired about Life as a class, especially because I really didn’t know what I was doing back then. I was still rocking Bazaar gear, and was still very much a crowns player. 10 years ago, knowledge wasn’t as widespread as it is now. Mount Olympus was still new. Waterworks may’ve been out for a couple years at that point, but not many could put in the time to help with either back then. The level cap was increased to 95 with the introduction of Khrysalis Part 1. People who had Waterworks gear were starting to look for alternatives, as I’d imagine that gear was nearing the tail end of its usefulness even back then. Even with all of that standing in the way, though, I felt like once I did get access to Forest Lord, the challenge did subside quite a bit. I also had taken a couple years break from the game at the end of my Crowns-Player escapades, but I was still learning more and more about it. When I did come back, with membership in hand, the game felt a lot easier. I tore through Waterworks, getting that gear, and have pretty much breezed through the rest of the game since. As a Healing class, You said it in another school ranking video, but most of what’s available to Life can be utilized by any other school to a similar effect. Most of the gear I use in my Endgame setup is classless, Treasure Cards can sometimes have bigger benefits than the Trained versions… I wouldn’t argue it a weakness of Life, though. I’m actually kinda thankful everybody can do things like that. It can very much save space in a team composition. I’d argue a storm can easily fill that space if they use Tree of Strife in their decks, as their Archmastery is already Life for that, but that’s besides the point. In fact, besides the lower damage output, I don’t think there’s many things about Life you can call a weakness, once they get Forest Lord. A high Health, Resist, and Accuracy stat line , amazing Healing potential, and a not bad AoE, all things considered. It’s all there for Life players, if they put the time in. All this being said, where would I rank Life? In terms of PvE viability, I think it falls square in the middle. Not as much as I’ve seen out of Death, Fire, and Storm late game, but Balance and Ice especially are getting the short end of the stick right now. Before it’s asked, I don’t have any experience with Myth, but doing spell quests just to get minions seem like a turn off. Minion AI is hot garbage. In terms of fun factor, as far as my experience goes, I’d have to put it below Fire, but above Ice. Death and Fire kinda go without being said. Great damage and decent survivability. Ice doesn’t get its blade until way too late for my liking, Storm’s accuracy and health early game is atrocious, and while I do like support classes in the games I play, balance just isn’t one of those that can really shine on their own.
I think ice is more fun than life because healing while you're questing kills the tempo, and you cant get greedy and be brainless like with every other class (u have neither the health to tank everything with no healing nor the damage to kill everything with no healing(
death is pretty fun but id put it in B tier coz its so easy, i dont think i was ever an inch away from dying in my entire playthrough. Especially as I had deer knight and ship of fools since lvl 5 lol
I completely agree with this list honestly. My main Wizard is in life school and it's so difficult to level and solo quest. It's the first wizard I ever started and it just takes so much time haha. Although I love it, I would also put it in C tier. Very little damage, but if you need to heal a teammate? we gotchu.
I could not agree less on balance, i soloed all my schools and goddamn zafaria through azteca was so brutal on the balance, i quit and just created a fire wizard to end my suffering temporarily. In a good chunck of the boss fights, i had to rely on rng to carry my ass which is something i never experienced on my other wizards. If youre a masochist or sometthing, solo balance is the school for you.
I was confused about why he would like ice over life. As I felt they offered similar tanking/damage. Then I noticed ice gets an aoe at level 26 and a +25 percent ice damage global spell at 28. Made a lot more sense after that.
I have a max Balance wizard. I play solo and I got to tell you I haven't had many issues at all while soloing. I've had a blast questing with him. In response to your comment about balance not having a prism. Yeah we don't need one. There's no shields for our school and if we go against a same school boss. We can use one of our many multi hit school spells.
Good thing my first Wizard is Patrick Darkblade who is a Death Wizard. I’ve made the most progress with him compared to my other Wizards. He feels like a leader to me. I may have been biased at the time, but as he is my first Wizard, he will be the first Wizard I play as to go through every place he can go through.
Hey, I’m a death main with little experience, so I can’t say much on the subject. However, I would like to say, I agree with all of the other rankings but I would switch life and myth. I guess it’s because I like helping people and that’s exactly what life does, I like to be there for my team, and life does that perfectly. Also, I don’t like the minion part about myth, I don’t find it fun.
As someone who used to main balance AND be a noob, yeah it wasn’t fun. It’s cool to me though. Definitely gonna try to solo again now that I know what I’m doing.
Honestly I have to agree with you on the myth school. While the history of the updates in the past few years was somewhat a disaster, awesome, or major change in the schools, this particular school received the full redemption.
I originally made a Myth wizard for the bragging rights of being one of the select few Myths up in the higher levels...and I had way more fun than I thought I would
i completely agree that myth is perfectly balanced! and i love everything about playing on my myth, especially how the spells are rooted in mythology, and i know everyone hates cyrus drake but i find him hilarious🤣
Balance is even ground class in terms of damage and hp, they are clearly pure support class that most MMOs these days with most meta playstyles in PVP or/and pve be like "you tank, healer or dps? if none you suck!" type of deal these days and balance is a lot more fun for me with I can utilize my support spells on tanks and damage dealers, help remove lack of weakness that the team may lack due to no healer or have squishy teammate that needs shield buffs and enemy damage debuffs in some rough fights
OMG FINALLY THANK YOU!!!!!! God literally everyone always votes ice last, and it’s literally because they don’t understand how ice works. You actually understand it’s a defensive school that takes patience and strategizing when questing, which in my opinion makes it fun. I’m glad you understand how fun ice can be. It’s a tank school, it’s designed to be long lasting in battle
You're absolutely right about Ice taking patience, but as an Ice main, I don't mind that one bit. I have a lot of fun soloing, and just taking my time to set everything up, tanking damage like a boss, only to finally hit that Ice Giant spell and watch all my enemies crumble! Ya know, after all the blades and traps are activated. I find myself smiling like a maniac when it's all said, and done. I know it isn't for everyone, but I really can't bring myself to go that far in other schools because Ice is just that satlisfying to me! Ice Wizard for lyfe!!!!
Question, with the addition of multi-school power pips, is it viable to hit with another school as an Ice main? Like, could you have a really good base of health and defense and then just hit with death spells? I feel like you would never die 😂 I just don’t know if the gear would support a set up like that at higher levels
As a level 36 Ice wizard I agree on why Ice wizard is B tier, the class is meant to be defensive but because of its low damage capabilities it sometimes makes games longer in PVE without blading and prisms. That’s why people sometimes recommends a partner like a fire or a lightning wizard to accompany you so the fight somewhat goes faster.
I have a Balance in Azteca and... disagree. I mean, yeah, it's painful sametimes (like Azteca times) but it's challenging and this one thing gives me sooo much fun because after maxing Fire, Death and Myth I can feel some fresh experience in the same game. I really reccomend Balance as third or fourth character, very different perspective
The more Defensive schools are the most fun. Tank= Great I enjoy playing as a tank in every MMO I play. Edit: To be fair Wiz is not like most MMOs any school can be tanky, However some can be tankier than others since some schools have more health and defensive options than other schools.
Finally, somebody put myth higher up there. somebody understands 😂. It's a perfect wizard and I love myths color scheme and outfits. I only wish they made the minions more useful

I loved balance when they gave us spiritual tribunal. That was awesome and I easily soloed the game back in 2020. (Got to lvl 129)

Elemental/spirit shields and blades/traps plus the balanceblades.
Balance offers the most variety and is most open to different playstyles.

As a Life main, myself, I think I know why you have it ranked lower than Ice. The first third of the game is mainly where my problems lie with Life as a hitting class. Just like Death, the class doesn’t get its first trainable AoE until level 48, whereas Ice gets one as early as level 26, in the form of Blizzard. Having to be almost finished with the first story arc before you get Forest Lord can be very much torturous. All Life can access at that stage is Kookaburra’s Leafstorm, which you have to really buff up to do decent damage.
That kind of challenge was something I really admired about Life as a class, especially because I really didn’t know what I was doing back then. I was still rocking Bazaar gear, and was still very much a crowns player. 10 years ago, knowledge wasn’t as widespread as it is now. Mount Olympus was still new. Waterworks may’ve been out for a couple years at that point, but not many could put in the time to help with either back then. The level cap was increased to 95 with the introduction of Khrysalis Part 1. People who had Waterworks gear were starting to look for alternatives, as I’d imagine that gear was nearing the tail end of its usefulness even back then.
Even with all of that standing in the way, though, I felt like once I did get access to Forest Lord, the challenge did subside quite a bit. I also had taken a couple years break from the game at the end of my Crowns-Player escapades, but I was still learning more and more about it. When I did come back, with membership in hand, the game felt a lot easier. I tore through Waterworks, getting that gear, and have pretty much breezed through the rest of the game since.
As a Healing class, You said it in another school ranking video, but most of what’s available to Life can be utilized by any other school to a similar effect. Most of the gear I use in my Endgame setup is classless, Treasure Cards can sometimes have bigger benefits than the Trained versions… I wouldn’t argue it a weakness of Life, though. I’m actually kinda thankful everybody can do things like that. It can very much save space in a team composition. I’d argue a storm can easily fill that space if they use Tree of Strife in their decks, as their Archmastery is already Life for that, but that’s besides the point.
In fact, besides the lower damage output, I don’t think there’s many things about Life you can call a weakness, once they get Forest Lord. A high Health, Resist, and Accuracy stat line , amazing Healing potential, and a not bad AoE, all things considered. It’s all there for Life players, if they put the time in.
All this being said, where would I rank Life? In terms of PvE viability, I think it falls square in the middle. Not as much as I’ve seen out of Death, Fire, and Storm late game, but Balance and Ice especially are getting the short end of the stick right now. Before it’s asked, I don’t have any experience with Myth, but doing spell quests just to get minions seem like a turn off. Minion AI is hot garbage.
In terms of fun factor, as far as my experience goes, I’d have to put it below Fire, but above Ice. Death and Fire kinda go without being said. Great damage and decent survivability. Ice doesn’t get its blade until way too late for my liking, Storm’s accuracy and health early game is atrocious, and while I do like support classes in the games I play, balance just isn’t one of those that can really shine on their own.
I think ice is more fun than life because healing while you're questing kills the tempo, and you cant get greedy and be brainless like with every other class (u have neither the health to tank everything with no healing nor the damage to kill everything with no healing(
death is pretty fun but id put it in B tier coz its so easy, i dont think i was ever an inch away from dying in my entire playthrough. Especially as I had deer knight and ship of fools since lvl 5 lol
I completely agree with this list honestly. My main Wizard is in life school and it's so difficult to level and solo quest. It's the first wizard I ever started and it just takes so much time haha. Although I love it, I would also put it in C tier. Very little damage, but if you need to heal a teammate? we gotchu.

Currently playing as a max balance w/ myth gears & myth mastery amulet. Its the best combo in my opinion 😍 i have everything i need + its fun.
I could not agree less on balance, i soloed all my schools and goddamn zafaria through azteca was so brutal on the balance, i quit and just created a fire wizard to end my suffering temporarily. In a good chunck of the boss fights, i had to rely on rng to carry my ass which is something i never experienced on my other wizards. If youre a masochist or sometthing, solo balance is the school for you.
I was confused about why he would like ice over life. As I felt they offered similar tanking/damage. Then I noticed ice gets an aoe at level 26 and a +25 percent ice damage global spell at 28. Made a lot more sense after that.

I have a max Balance wizard. I play solo and I got to tell you I haven't had many issues at all while soloing. I've had a blast questing with him. In response to your comment about balance not having a prism. Yeah we don't need one. There's no shields for our school and if we go against a same school boss. We can use one of our many multi hit school spells.
I got 160 dmg over 600 crit with 35 pierce, And keeping the damage cap in mind I honestly believe I can keep up with most players.

Good thing my first Wizard is Patrick Darkblade who is a Death Wizard. I’ve made the most progress with him compared to my other Wizards. He feels like a leader to me. I may have been biased at the time, but as he is my first Wizard, he will be the first Wizard I play as to go through every place he can go through.
Hey, I’m a death main with little experience, so I can’t say much on the subject. However, I would like to say, I agree with all of the other rankings but I would switch life and myth. I guess it’s because I like helping people and that’s exactly what life does, I like to be there for my team, and life does that perfectly. Also, I don’t like the minion part about myth, I don’t find it fun.

Honestly I have to agree with you on the myth school. While the history of the updates in the past few years was somewhat a disaster, awesome, or major change in the schools, this particular school received the full redemption.

Balance is even ground class in terms of damage and hp, they are clearly pure support class that most MMOs these days with most meta playstyles in PVP or/and pve be like "you tank, healer or dps? if none you suck!" type of deal these days and balance is a lot more fun for me with I can utilize my support spells on tanks and damage dealers, help remove lack of weakness that the team may lack due to no healer or have squishy teammate that needs shield buffs and enemy damage debuffs in some rough fights

You actually understand it’s a defensive school that takes patience and strategizing when questing, which in my opinion makes it fun. I’m glad you understand how fun ice can be. It’s a tank school, it’s designed to be long lasting in battle

You're absolutely right about Ice taking patience, but as an Ice main, I don't mind that one bit. I have a lot of fun soloing, and just taking my time to set everything up, tanking damage like a boss, only to finally hit that Ice Giant spell and watch all my enemies crumble! Ya know, after all the blades and traps are activated. I find myself smiling like a maniac when it's all said, and done.
I know it isn't for everyone, but I really can't bring myself to go that far in other schools because Ice is just that satlisfying to me! Ice Wizard for lyfe!!!!
Question, with the addition of multi-school power pips, is it viable to hit with another school as an Ice main? Like, could you have a really good base of health and defense and then just hit with death spells? I feel like you would never die 😂

As a level 36 Ice wizard I agree on why Ice wizard is B tier, the class is meant to be defensive but because of its low damage capabilities it sometimes makes games longer in PVE without blading and prisms. That’s why people sometimes recommends a partner like a fire or a lightning wizard to accompany you so the fight somewhat goes faster.
I have a Balance in Azteca and... disagree. I mean, yeah, it's painful sametimes (like Azteca times) but it's challenging and this one thing gives me sooo much fun because after maxing Fire, Death and Myth I can feel some fresh experience in the same game. I really reccomend Balance as third or fourth character, very different perspective

The more Defensive schools are the most fun. Tank= Great I enjoy playing as a tank in every MMO I play.
Edit: To be fair Wiz is not like most MMOs any school can be tanky, However some can be tankier than others since some schools have more health and defensive options than other schools.
My pvp list: Storm > Myth > Fire > Death > ice > balance > life. But that’s pvp list. And a lot of ppl don’t understand that your list is FUN
