Arc 1 imo is an untouchable classic. It’s everything you could ever want from a good story. Arc 3 comes close to it. They mastered worldbuilding in arc 3. Arc 4 is incomplete but so far I’m very invested in it. I see what they tried to do in arc 2 but it began losing momentum near the end of Azteca.
My rankings: 1. Arc 1. Love malistare, cyrus, and Sylvia's dynamic so much. The only world I don't like in arc one is krokotopia, and it's short as hell, so I'm enjoying most of my experience. 2. Arc 4. Although it's not done, I think story wise, Wizard101 gets the most clever here. Especially novus. Dasien is such a great metaphor for what it means to be alive right now, experiencing the world as a young adult, and I know that's on purpose. Kingsisle knows the demographic of the player base right now. Arc 4 is really missing a world with deep culture and world building, though. I mean there is Karamelle but I feel like karamelle was more focused on capitalist culture over actual Swiss culture. I hope wallaru delivers in that front. 3. Arc 3. I love Arc 3 so much, but I just feel that the whole "chosen one" thing at the end put a bad taste in my mouth. Mirage is PEAK when it comes to world building in the game and in world ranking it's probably #1 for me but I just really don't like the direction the second half of empyrea went. I think I'm just tired of "chosen one" stories. I do love raven and spider though. 4. Arc two. I do not need to explain myself on this one. However, Azteca may have ruined malistare but I actually love the music and the scenery enough to appreciate the world. It's also super nestolgic because azteca was max when I was REALLY into the game as a kid.

Nice rankings of the arcs Corn This is my ranking of the arcs 1. Arc 3 (has some the best worlds and had the best quest line my favorite world is Polaris) 2. Arc 4 (I love all the worlds in this Arc and Karamelle is my favorite and I can’t wait to see what comes out) 3. Arc 1 (Even though I love the nostalgia of this Arc I’m not a big fan of wizard city with the way how they updated it and I’m also not a big fan of krokotopia so having to go through those two worlds first kind of sucks) 4. Arc 2 (The only worlds I enjoyed were Zafaria and Avalon. Kyrsallis and Azteca is what ruined it for me and Celestia was decent)
I have only done arc 1 💀.That being said I have been playing since 2016 and finally bought membership. Made a death wizard I got to level 42 and then restarted last year on a fire wizard which is currently level 54 and still in dragonspyre… I garden, do side quests, daily quests, and hang with friends. I have been trying to play more though
I'd rank them as follows. Arc 3: the worlds feel a perfect length, and i like learning the spiral lore. Only complaint is empyrea part 2 can drag because part 1 dragged SO hard. Arc 1: hard to beat the OG, only complaint is that it's too short, but i tend to enjoy every world. Arc 4: hard to choose between 1 and 4, but Karamelle irritates me to no end. However Novus and Lemuria were very interesting storywise and kept me intrigued. Arc 2: too tedious and the only worlds i enjoy are Avalon and Khrysalis. If the majority of the worlds are mid, then of course the arc will be.
I haven’t been to Lemuria, in fact I’ve only gone to Mirage and I still haven’t beaten that, HOWEVER. Lemuria has lemurs. Therefore. It must be a good world 😂
I think arc 3 is the best out all of them. The worlds were mainly straight to the point and the overall story was fantastic. However i think arc 4 has to be a close second. The underlying themes of all the worlds are so solid. Karamelle (mistreatment of workers while proping up the happy candy fun time theme) Lemuria (lemurians treat the old one as a god while he was using lemuria as a gmod sandbox), and Novus (imperalism and how there are 2 main powers in Novus: Marleybone and Valencia who are 1st world powers and who kind of dictate what novus is while Polaris and Monquista are more or less 2nd world powers that really don’t have much say.)
I’m just getting started in Polaris. Anyone have any tips for taking out four enemies at once? I’m playing as my Death Wizard, who is my first one there.
For me my ranking has to be 1. Arc 2 2. Arc 3 3. Arc 1 4. Arc 4 A little explanation for my placings. By far, I've adored the story of Arc 2 and 3 so they are my top 2, Arc 1 is by far my least favorite. Don't get me wrong I think it's still very good but it just doesn't compare to Arc 2 and 3 in my personal opinion. Arc 4 is last simply because I haven't even gotten to start that arc yet. I'm almost done with Empyrea so hopefully I can start Arc 4 this summer and give a proper ranking to it later this year.
I 100% agree with this ranking except, I felt like I would switch ark 4 and ark 2, still ark 3 I loved, Polaris was fine in my opinion, Mirage was great, and Empyrea was the best world to ever exist imo.
1st- arcs 2 and 3. Can’t rly decide which I like better. Loved Polaris and mirage, the worlds were so beautiful and the story was amazing. empyrea was a miss tho for me. Questing thru the 2nd arc just has a lot of nostalgia for me. Getting waterworks gear in Celestia, darkmoor, ugh so good. Khrysalis did suck tho lol. 2nd: arc 1. A classic obv, I just think wizard city thru Marleybone are kinda slow due to lack of spell diversity early game. Gets kinda repetitive and I lose motivation a lot bc I get bored. Krok is by FAR my fav world in the game tho so love arc 1 for Krok. Oh and malistaire is an amazing villain. 3rd: arc 4. Idk. This arc has jus been a flop for me. The story is just boring (novus isn’t too bad tho), and the gear sucks to acquire (Dragoon and aeon gear. I miss when gear was just a drop from a dungeon like darkmoor or mount olympus). The worlds don’t rly have a central theme anymore which I’m not a fan of. They still do have themes, but they aren’t as prominent as worlds like dragonspyre or zafaria.
Idk what you’re talking about, arc 2 is great except for Avalon😂 In all seriousness, I love the story of the first arc, but the gameplay feels so tedious without aoe’s, especially if you’re a death/life and only get a 7 pip. And arc 3 would be my favorite without empyrea which is a hot take I know, but it almost feels like it suffers from being such a dark world like krys aside from aeroplanes. I love the reverie and the finale is awesome but for me the rest of the world falls flat. Arc 4 is kinda a grind for me, but I think what contributes to it is me just being a completions and arc 4 has cheating side bosses which is so hard lol. To be fair, I’m on my 4th run of the second arc and it’s not hitting like it was before. Still don’t like Avalon but that’s personal preference😂😂😂
1-Arc 3 world building was more focused it was short easy to follow plot fun worlds etc 2-arc 2 waifu morganthe that’s enough to be ranked 2 other than that Shads made the game way more interesting morganthe was a decent character although she could’ve been fleshed out more and also had decent world building 3-arc 1 it was good but malistre could’ve had more of a presence and it felt to easy gameplay wise 4-arc 4 I honestly have no idea what is even happening in this arc to many things happen in this arc

As someone who actually genuinely liked Azteca… I still hate arc 2 it’s really bad. Celestia is a headache, I refuse to farm darkmoor on my third wizard, Morgathe is such a lame villain. Best thing I’d say in the arc is the voice acting and music. Listening to anyone in Zafaria is really soothing, basically all the Azteca tracks are calming, if it was just an audio experience I might like it more tbh.

I do really like arc 3 but tbh I hate empyrea which is what brings it down for me. Arc 1 I do like and it is really nostalgic but it’s also really slow until you get aoe’s. Maybe my opinion is swayed because currently I’m questing a death and I didn’t get the aoe until dragonspyre and it made it kind of painful. Then again once you get aoe’s the game can be kind of mindless but anyways - arc 4 I’m still developing an opinion on, I’m halfway through lemuria rn. Ok my turn to do a hot take ranking : 1. Arc 2 : my favorite worlds! I especially enjoy the addition of FOUR new schools of magic and their effect on the spiral, the addition of crit and all. I also like when worlds take time, it makes me feel attached to them :’) 2. Arc 1 : Very nostalgic and absolutely amazing theming. The music is unbeatable too. Very comfortable places to be in. 3. Arc 4 : The story is just so incredible! Interesting bosses, cool locations. I don’t know about the spells but I guess it’s because the game is getting old at this point. 4. Arc 3: I don’t like any of the worlds, especially empyrea which I totally despise. Maybe it comes from the new animated faces, but the characters look off to me, and it feels like they destroyed grandmother raven for no reason. Aaaand the music is not as great as usual, if not really bad sometimes (empyrea) :(
I dont get why you rank Ark 1 so high. When Ark 1 has so many plot holes in it. 1st being why does Krokopatra say the Krokonomacon is already gone. Who took it from her. Clearly not malistaire and i doubt it was the Marleybonians cause they would die if they faced her. Also how does the Marleybonians know its at the musem and how did they get it before the wizard? As for Marleybone if we go with the Marleybonian story that the the Krkokonomicon was sent to the museum only to be stolen. Why dont we look for the person who stole it to get answers. Mind you there is no mention of the book and story leading up to it just that Meowiarty is free and we need to stop him. Now as for Mooshu it feel like a huge side quest. Y'know why? Drake and Malistare are both from DS and would more than likely have the world key to DS so why would Mali need to poison the Mooshu Emperor just to get the DS world key. Couldnt we just get the key from cyrus just to go to DS unless Mooshu story changes to have us do special training but to get an item or items to defeat Mali but also trying to save Emperor.
oh and the thief of the book was Meowiarity, the book was safely stored in the museum and the reason you don't get it from the museum right away is because you're forced to help the city to get the book

Wow. I don't agree with this assessment at all. Complaining about an arc because it's long, I don't understand. Dasein is the worst and ARC 4 is a confused, convoluted, fussy mess. The art, the story, the self-important dialogue---it's all too much and Dasein was in it way too much and I did not care about him or his story or his dumb "self-discovery" journey at all. Also, Karamelle was overly silly and hard to take seriously at all. The stakes in it are low, the social commentary is hack-ish, the characters ridiculous. To call Khrysalis tedious but not Empyrea... come on man. Empyrea gave us the godawful Whirlyball and the absolute worst gear grind of any world. ARC 1 ftw.

Also, Karamelle was overly silly and hard to take seriously at all. The stakes in it are low, the social commentary is hack-ish, the characters ridiculous.
