- How do you make friends whilst travelling? Never mind, making friends whilst travelling full time. In this video, we are still living in our van in Portugal.
Being on the road full-time can be pretty lonely at times, being constantly on the move and not knowing where we'll be from one day to the next, can make it hard to meet new friends, never mind seeing old ones.
Mitchell’s friend, Andreas, who he met online 12 YEARS AGO decided to take the trip from Denmark to come and see us. With this only being the third time they’ve met in 12 years it was pretty special to have him over and explore Portugal's Algarve with us!

A little bit about us…
We’re Martha and Mitch, a full-time travel couple from the UK 🇬🇧 travelling Europe🌍 in our VW T5 Transporter Campervan🚐, or as we like to call her, ‘The Jammy Dodger’💙.
In the summer of 2022, we decided that society's way of living wasn’t for us. The 9-5 job, the house, the constant anticipation of each weekend to come around, so we decided to sell EVERYTHING.
Our house (which was only bought 20 months earlier… whoops!), all our new furniture, our car and quit full-time jobs.
People thought we were CRAZY, but we’ve always dreamt about travelling full time in a van, and that’s when ‘Jammy Gits’ was born🥰.
We’d be lying if we said we’ve got all this figured out, but we’re excited to take you along the #vanlife journey with us and hopefully inspire others to become jammy gits too!
We are grateful to have you join us on our adventure💙
