I cooked this today mate. I used chicken stock instead of water (only cause it was in the fridge) I chucked in 3 garlic cloves as well. bloody best stew I've done in the camp oven, the garlic pepper is now my new favourite spice. !
Nice video, Trev. Very nice setup on your dutch oven with the tripod. A bit windy there (watch that turmeric, lol)...I suppose your Spring has arrived while we are getting Autumn now. Beautiful Aussie Stew :)
Thanks mate, yeah that's my new favourite place to hang out making videos behind the shed I call it Camp Kookaburra and yeah things are warming up hopefully we'll get some rain soon all the grass is dead. Have a good one mate👍👍👍
My pleasure to follow you. You looks so natural and real! In real life we make mistake and, I like to see that. This, makes feel everyone can do it. Otherwise, it would be... I don’t know, too good. Cheers mate! I’ll try it this weekend coming 💪
That is the best looking stew I have ever seen, fantastic consistency. Your cooking station is the dodgiest thing I have ever seen. I thought you were going to burn yourself a few times, and didn't even see the pot tipping and spilling all the juices coming lol
Im only 23 years old with basically no cooking skills but this looks really easy and straight forward to make. Thanks for sharing mate I will definitely be giving this a go in the near future.
Hi there!! Thank you so much for these amazing recipes! My family are just back from camping (here in Japan) and we used your recipes to make damper and beef stew! They turned out so great and we will definitely be making them again ^_^ thank you!!
@@DadandMee wow! thank you so much!! I appreciate your support... I am still very camera shy...but I LOVE cooking ^_^ I will go through more of your videos for inspiration too ^_^
Hey mate, don know if you're still looking at comments on this vid, but with the exception of using heat beads rather than the campfire, I followed your full recipe and it was a great hit with the family. Especially the wife cause she didn't have to cook. Cheers.
Good video - thanks for the recipe! You helped me discover Keen’s curry power is an Australian recipe. I always thought it was British just like Keen’s mustard powder. Weird.
Jack Absalom impressed me with his roast beef out on Lake Eyre and producing fresh water from salt water in the dry salt pan of lake Eyre using an old Jerry can on a campfire
Hi, I am brown from Korea. I am currently living in Australia. And I am a chef, so I am very interested in food, but I don't know what traditional Australian food is. I came to Australia and asked many aussies about Australian food, but I couldn't get the answer. Do you think so, too? Australia doesn't have its own traditional food.
G'day Brown, thank you for visiting my channel ,mate the reason there is no specific traditional Australian food is because Australians are made up of many different cultures, so each region of Australia tends to enjoy food from their original countries, also because of TV and internet the young people under 30 years old tend to want to eat American food rather than traditional old style food. I hope this helps mate, have a great day 😃
You tasted the stew with the wooden spoon and then proceeded to stir the pot again with same spoon lol 😂 that’s gross mate ! Strewth remind not to come to your house for dinner 🤮
@@tonypereira1484 I would eat it no problem. Sounds like you were babied to much as a kid. Women and men would laugh at your lack of manliness. Cheers mate.

Goood!!
Meat pies, damper vegemite on toast, tim tam biscuits. Thats about it. Stews are international, traditionally Hungarian.
Hi! I am going to make this again!! ^_^
That's awesome Kiara, I bet it will be yummy 😀
Yeh you’re gunna wanna re season them shots asap
If ya wanna see a fella use one of those things check out cowboy Kent Rollins.
I love Kent Rollins videos 😃
It’s not Aussie stew unless you use Vegemite!
Maggi is an Indian brand name, and it is pronounced as Maggy, short form of Margaret. Idk why they chose to spell it as such.
you lost me at tripod :/
Thongs ??
Hell Yes , Always !!
Not wrong buddy 😀😀😀
Go the pluggers 😂👍
To right mate 😀😃😀
Try Kerala beef stew from south India
Get rid of that table salt - it’s no good. Get some sea salt.
Australia table salt is made from evaporated sea water...
@@DadandMee no, it’s made from minerals in the ground.
Solar evaporation sea water in south Australia 🇦🇺

If he's only cooking for him and his wife than what's wrong with that?
You must not cook much, cause the heat will kill anything if that's your concern.
