It's amazing. We call that kind of beef stew "mechado" here in the Philippines with the addition of soy sauce, bay leaves, mushrooms, chorizo bilbao, crushed pepper, a dash of brown sugar and local lemon. Thinking about getting my own dutch oven too.
Deer huntings finest cuisine right there. Many weekends were spent eating stew from a cast iron Dutch oven just like that. Great times that are so warm to remember. Great video sir.
I watched this while eating my own beef stew lol Mine had peas, baby potatoes (whole), onions, carrots, and a small bit of sriracha stirred in at the end for a little spice. Was very good along with fresh biscuits. Thanks for sharing!
I made this at home with a regular stainless steel pot. It turned out delicious. I can only imagine how much better it is in a Dutch oven. I used purple, white, orange and yellow carrots. I used sirloin petite steaks instead. And I added a bag of corn. It did take longer and I had to stir it more to make sure everything was cooked. Next time I'm gonna use the crockpot. I'm sure the neighbor's would probably complain if I had a fire going all day.
just made this is a cast iron pot I cleaned and reseasoned, added a couple more spices, but turned out great, and was my first time using cast iron,I like it, thank you
Sauté onions in that butter first. Carmelized onions add amazing flavor. Add beef and brown. Add water and let that stew. Add veggies at end so not mushy.
Kingsford is a good company when Parsons WV was flooded out in 1985 they called all employees in to clean out the plant then go around the town and help clean it up and they were paid just as if they were on the job then as machinery came in they were called to work in the plant God bless em
I love the cowboy stew. Yours looks great! I make it a little different we put beans and chopped chilies in ours. Great way to add some smoke is throw in some smoked chilies or andouille sausage instead of beef.
Add also some celery, mushrooms, some cracked black pepper and a dash of Worstcestershire sauce. Will be the next level up!! Good looking stew as is though.
Aye ^_^ carrots, celery, and onions are the go to for any soups and stews! The french have a word for those 3 things always going together, but I can't even remember what it's called right now LOL!
celery is magic. add it to almost any soup, stew, casserole, etc. you only would need a stalk or so. but yes worcestershire and mushrooms too. The best meat I ever had with a stew like this in the bush was moose and or bear meat.
Looked good brother. When I make stew I dredge the meat in flour before browning it then I don't need to add flour to make the roux. Thanks for sharing.
NICE! Can you ship by Purolator? Haha! The only thing I would mention is that when I cook mine, I seer the beef cubes in batches, so they get a nice caramelised crust.... Your stew looks really good!
Nice. The tomatoes gave me kind of a twist as well. Though in the long run, the part leading up gave me some new ideas for my next batch of chili, hehe.
That's what I'm talking about!!!! I like meat and Veggies I can look at especially the Carrots , not have to dig and hunt for!!!!!!!!! Loved watching the video. I give you an Emeril Lagasse BAM!
An easier way to maximize the thickening power of 2 Tbsp of flour would be to coat the meat in flour and brown in the butter...then deglaze with any liquid then cook veggies. I don't like to nit pick but it takes more work to add butter fat later to flour.....still looks awesome..... I like your vids...keep it up.
I'd add some worstcershire sauce and a bit of chili powder. You could also use some salsa instead of tomatoes or tomatoes with chil's.....Here in Texas we like to spice it up a bit. Beef broth and a few swigs of beer also give a great flavor.
Man, that looks good and tasty! Ha, ha, haaaa, I don't believe that early cowboys there in the USA have had fresh tomatoes all the time, but I enjoy your commitment for tasty foods, like a good hungarian gulyás (gulash), what it seems to me. A bit of fresh bellpepper and fresh cold sour cream could add some extra flavour to your beautiful dish. Bon appetite. LOL
‘4137 big likeeee.. I’m new friend from Italy... compliments for your cowboy recipe... so goooood!!! And beautiful channel my dear.. soo no stop watching.....
If you dice the onion even more and you toss it in first then you do not need to add any flour (in case your gluten intolerant) and instead of liquid smoke just add a fine red wine about a full glass, it still will be a great stew ! nice job btw.
Did this video suddenly get even more popular after the red dead 2 release. Btw, it looks yummy as hell! Thank you. I've been really getting into soups and stews lately so this helps :)
I just decided to buy that rusty 14 qt camp dutch oven at the re-sale shop after watching this. Great job. Think about finishing it off with a Bisquick mix crust maybe. Stew pot pie!
A: You had me at home made spatula made from old fire wood. B: You used hardwood coals. C: This is the meal I am making next time I go camping so the smell brings everyone to my site for a good feed!! Nice work, Clarky from Australia👍
My Life Outdoors no worries mate, currently cooking some Santa Fe chicken for my oldest sons birthday and having a beer, it's about 6:00pm here, and it's Friday!
Aside from the tomato, oil, and butter, I didn't see any other liquid going into the pot. Did you add water? That looks lime a lot of juice for one can of tomato
Looks just as good as Mr. Pearson’s stew.
I was here cause i saw pearsons stew and am hungry
It's sad when a video game brings organic people back to the truth.
Are you a filipino playing RDR2?

That looks very appetizing. Simple meal prep and appears to look like it will be hearty and filling.

Stewed anything man. I like chicken the best, like a better version of chicken noodle soup.
To me, paradise is thick beef stew on a snowy winter day by a fireplace.
@fraser nicol
Actually it was tobacco, but it should have been stewed beef!
That what trumph grew up with
