I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror the other day and was shocked to see how hunched I was. This is an exercise I will certainly adopt. Thanks Will.
I hope it proves beneficial for you! I'm wishing you all the best 😃
I think a lot of us have gone through that. Also catching yourself on a ring doorbell camera video is a shock
I saw a picture of me on a surveillance camera and I saw my grandmother, but it was me! So hunched and fat like Mrs Tiggywinkle. I am going to add this exercise to my therapy routines. Thank you!
I have tried a lot of different things to ease my lower back pain , L234 gone,, even a pain block ,(which only lasted 3 months ,,),,in the short time I've been watching your, videos I've had significant relief to the point that my confidence is coming back ,, thank you will,, from a grateful viewer ,,cheers from aus tralia
That is absolutely fantastic to hear - I'm so pleased you've noticed such a drastic difference to your pain and confidence following my suggestions - I hope you continue to reap the rewards! Wishing you all the best :)
Your explanations are always wonderfully clear!
Very happy to be of help!
Thank you for helping us become aware of our bodies.
It's my pleasure!
I’m going to try this just to improve general posture even though I don’t have this problem yet.
I, too, will try it as I have this problem and have been looking for ways to correct it. There's nothing more discouraging than looking at yourself sideways in the mirror and seeing one has terrible posture. Not only that, but I once met a woman whose posture had deteriorated to the point where she was completely bent over while standing and that haunts me.
Prevention is key!
Great idea! It would be great if you could provide exercises that can be done at office space, too.
This is really helpful! I am going to try it. Thank you so much! ❤
Prevention is easier than correction
I'm a massage therapist and I learn a lot from your channel. I have very weak Rhomboids and my posture is horrible! I will definitely do this exercise and recommend it to my clients as well.
You explained exactly how I hunch and stick my neck out! I'll definitely do this exercise regularly!
Thank you for adding quality to the aging bodies of your viewers.
It's my pleasure to be able to help!
I hardly have the words to express my gratitude, Mr. Will - thank you, thank you.
I certainly appreciate your channel and excellent instruction!
Thank you so much! It's great to hear you're enjoying my channel :)
I am slowly working my way through your book Will. It's very easy to take in and I like that I can find videos on here to see in more detail what I'm reading.
Your book reinforces what I learned in my yoga teacher training, but helps me to more specifically work with over 50's.
I mainly run seated yoga classes. I love that you go into the anatomical details and the reasons why certain exercises are beneficial and I find myself exploring more of this in my teaching now too. I think knowing the why is motivation for so many of my group!
I find that I am able to modify many of your ideas to accommodate seated classes, I would love to incorporate more of what you do into my classes, but unfortunately most of my clients are not ready for standing/floor work.
I aim to build confidence, as well as strength, so that the transition to stronger work doesn’t feel out of reach.
This is such a useful video for me. I hunch a lot and have to remember and try very hard to keep straight. I’ll do this exercise and see if it helps. Thank you so much for your incredible efforts to keep us fit.
I hope it proves beneficial for you - it's my pleasure to be able to share my work with others!
Will, you have worked miracles for me. So young but you’re so well informed and educated in your field. Thank you.
Definitely need this, thank you

thank you, always helpful.
So pleased to hear it was helpful!
Ok I just started this exercise thanks to this video. I do it on my 1.5 inch floor mat with my nose beyond the mat with my head in a towel. This gives my nose space to breathe. My chiropractor has me putting a yoga block behind my back below my shoulder blades and against the wall with me trying to bring the back of my head to touch the wall to help correct my hump. But the only thing to bring my head back is the back muscles so I don't know how this move works. Your exercise makes so much better sense how to correct this hunch. Thanks.
Wonderful video Will!!!
Thanks so much for help improving my posture ❤

Born in 1950 in West Texas, I became infected with Polio. Fortunately, my father was Army, so my health care was provided by professional, caring specialists.
In 1980, I began exercising
focusing on quick walking, then running 🏃♂️ all types of new experiences, then competing in the Portland Oregon Marathon 💪 1982 & 1983! HIP HIP HORRAY!
Fabulous

Thank you for your kind words! It's my pleasure to be able to share my work :)
Awesome vid clearly explained!BUT if I can add a little constructive criticism: I wish you spoke about some “warming up”before doing the stretching. I’ve learned that you get more out of stretching IF you warm up first, cheers
Nice
Perfect timing Will - I noticed myself hunching over while walking at the gym!
I'm pleased my video came at the right time!
Will try.
Wishing you all the best!
Looks VERY simple, why has noone told my this before. I'll start tonight.
I hope you find it helpful!
What if you're a lady with a very big front, and your shoulder blades don't normally touch the bed when you lay down? Is it okay just to go back to the normal position? I mean, it seems like it would work the same.
I have noticed that, sometimes when I can't sleep, it works to sleep like that, with my head or head and shoulders propped up on a low pillow. I can't sleep all night like that, because it starts to hurt, but it's great for an hour or two of deep sleep.
Looks a good, I will try’
I hope you find it helpful!
What about adding on to this by lifting the legs (knees not bent) at the same time as the arms?
Wouldn’t that provide additional strengthening to the lower back?
Is there an alternative? I have difficulty of lying on my stomach.
Magic -
Does this also work if you have Lordosis?
Will this exercise work for someone with spinal stenosis ?
Can I just ask your advice I've bent over pulled my back what can I do
can i do 3 sets at a time, or 3 spread out throughout the day?
Will, thank you for the great explanation/demonstration of this exercise. I’ll definitely try this one .
What’s it called.. prone what ? Thanks
Prone dart. I guess because your arms are like an arrowhead.
@@suburbanbanshee - oh, gotcha. Thank you!
This over fifty thanks you very much.
More than happy to help!
I have had rotator cuff repairs on both shoulders ,and have developed two new tears..Can i do this exetcise ,as my posture is poor.Thank you..
Will, l will try this. Do you tighten the glutes as well?
Good Morning,
I stay in a retirement village in Sabie SA, I try to bay your book at incredible books.I do not order anyting online, but can make a bank transfer, can I do that to Amazone?
Stumbled across this. I haven't checked in the mirror yet 🙂 but suspect I could use it, as long as I can enthuse myself to get going. However I do have a question.
I've noticed my ability to look left and right seems to be coming a little painful; it has been stiff for years but I'm sure it's getting more so. Will this exercise sort out the neck muscles to free up that left/right motion more ? TIA.
Edit: Did find czcams.com/video/1A_R_WpNHJU/video.htmlsi=Pijv7rsGxNgEOQth (one of the few clearly neck oriented videos in the neck playlist 😉) which looks helpful, although I don't perceive this as sleep orientated, it's something most obvious when driving when I rely more on mirrors rather than turning my neck. If you have other video suggestions they will be gratefully received. Thanks.
Chair exercises for someone with osteoporosis safe
Seems like I’m feeling it mostly in my triceps… Does that mean I’m doing it wrong, or that I have weak triceps, or something else?
Just what I need 😍
so handsome 😙
😊
I swear, the older I get, the more my body rebels! Some mornings its feel like a full on rebellion 😖
I work with a man who is just 30 and he looks like that, don't know what he look like when older, probably bent right over.
He may have Scoliosis.
@noonespecial4171 Yes maybe.
Tutorial for how to walk properly would be great.

I would like to add one thing. Don't put your weight on your forehead, it's easy to do. It's bad for your neck.
Thank you.😊
