Do you have any easy MTB skills to share?
bunny hop! Maybe back wheel hops as well as an extension of the endo practice
Track stand or maybe just pedaling in a straight line without crashing
@@centurionjeff and the 'Lazy Bob' track stand as per my mediocre attempt at an instructional video. q8}
@GMBN please make a serie in which you pick *a normal rider* and make it learn these skills. We cannot learn by just watching a pro!
Like paul the punter did?
I think GMBN should do another bike giveaway and make a progression class/video a part of the deal.
Good comment I cant do any of these especially the bhop.
Noted, I’ll have a word with me Dad 😉
The thing is, you really can't learn by watching at all, go ride.
Feels familiar
Step 1) Lean forward
Step 2) Complete the rest of the backflip
Thanks heaps Richie for these essential MTB skills
Definitely need to improve my mtb handling skills🤙
Hopefully this one has helped you! 👊
I'm not done with cornering yet! Now these skills! Yay, I need to double time!
Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines! #KeepBiking
4 years into mtb and nowhere near getting any of these skills down.
Have you even tried? Or just been rolling down trails bro
@@jackjack-xi7je I practice almost every day Mr. Judgemental.
I practice these daily! It 100% elevates my confidence riding. Plus it looks great haha
You say always EASY !!! 😀😀🤯🤯😀😀
legend, thank you
Big fan of Payne sir
Thanks Rich! How long did it take you to learn each of these skills?
Thanks for posting so much GMBN
Thanks for the support! Safe riding! 👊
Simple skills: Manual, Endo, Stopy and Fakie... "simple"... right ;)
The endo and stoppie are actually suprisingly easy to do. They might be scary at first but you’ll get it in no time
Simple? And you are starting with manual? What are difficult skills then?
😂😂😂
Double backflip from flat ground
It gets even better. Less than 60 seconds after saying that these skills can be learned in a “very confined space, ya, very very small”, he says “Where do you learn to manual? A big open area is a great spot…”
These are all advanced skills, with not even a concern about safety… an endo, stopie, fakie, turning and cornering. I’m wondering which of these skills are supposed to be done in the “very confined space, ya, very very small”.
love watching this to then head out and ride.
Hope the ride goes well! Thanks for the support! 👍
I wish I could have a bike like that, dream bike 🥹
I learnt the majority of these skills on my bmx when I was a kid and more jumping over 20 kids on a ramp ahh days before health and safety lol
This are easy to learn on a "20 BMX that weights like two aluminium chairs but not on a MTB or any other bike with standard sized wheels
cool shirt, i cant find it anywhere in your store though
nice wideo
How are you pedaling backwards?
I have a 90lb dual motor fat tire ebike....do u guys think I can do any of this with that? Legit question.
Hey Rich, I noticed when you do a manual you stop the front wheel from rotating. Does this help keep the front up?
No it does not just habit. I have the same habit😂
Something for the beginner... Braking...
(Especially confidence in that front brake/tyre).
Find a nice flat gravel road. Slow speed that you can safely jam on the front and put a foot down & stop while remaining seated...
so Do just that...
Now try again and see if you can get the front to slide a little and release the brakes without putting your foot down.
Now try to see how far you can slide the front & not put a foot down (you can pedal now to start getting a long run (I can get about 1-2m depending on how bad my front tyre is and how far back I sit... (You should now discover how weight forward/back works on how your front wheel skids).
Once your confidant... tyr a front skid as you pump down on your handlebars and pedals (or just the bars) and see how a bit of weight at the right time can help increase a breaking moment...
Now try it on grass & see how far you can balance that skid...
The whole idea... in doing this you should start to get comfortable modulating (increase/decrease power to the lever) your brakes to catch the bike when it slides so you can get maximum breaking without maximum face plant. Learning the "Feel' of your brakes/tyre on a slippery surface.
Yes, working on threshold braking on a flat surface is a great way to learn 'Feel' for lock up & maximum braking potential 👍
@@rider65 Once you get good at it, a grassy slope is even better. On a big trail ride a couple of years back I found the clay firebreak in one place so slippery, not only did I fall off, I dropped the motor bike just trying to pick it up. I decided to chance the wet sheep rutted hillside beside the track and shocked myself the grip I got on wet long grass on a 45 deg plus decent.
Can’t find those Ergon seats with the big letters anywhere
Whats full name of that Orbea bike
Cool!
How is it easier to lift the front wheel up when riding downhill. All the weight is shifting forward so that will make it harder or am I missing something?
It's not easier to lift front wheel when downhill, but it's easier to manual downhill bc your bike won't stop immediately
I saw Blake do a pogo with his back wheel! How was that possible! We need a tutorial on that!
You’ve obviously never had a bmx.
@@CiderPang27 Obviously, no. I didn't. Maybe you can make the tutorial then, because apparently you have, and know all about it. Thanks for offering!!
Dude you're a legend!!! Iv seen countless videos on manuals and I keep going over to the right... I can get the wheel in the air but constantly get the balance wrong.! I'm really nervous about looping out but when feathering the back brake I can't get the wheel up enough. So I'll try and see if I'm going off to one side of the bike first and go from there! Thank man 👍🏼
👍👍👍
I thought it said "simple" in the title... 🙈
He also said that these skills can be learned in a “very confined space, ya, very very small”, then he says “Where do you learn to manual? A big open area is a great spot…”
Yo GMBN
YO! 👋
hi! What year is that orbea occam because I’m getting the 2021 moddel and I was wondering if that that’s the one is that a 2020 or something else
Great advice as always. I would just say use small flat bright colored rocks instead so you don't trash your rims or face if you mess up.
How many months before you could bunnyhop after a dislocated shoulder am at 6 months it still hurts pulling up HELP
Not on topic but I need help lol
Anti clockwise??
@GMBN we need to drop down our seat to do those tricks?
It's significantly harder to balance in a manual than to pop
6th or 7th video for these basic skills from GMBN. 3 months ago is the last video specifically for "endo" again with Rich. I understand that it's not easy to make new content every day, but at least let each subsequent video be more in-depth, with more information and details. And not just throw a few common words and that's it. Or reduce the number of episodes in favor of better and more varied videos. This is not a Latin American TV series that needs an episode every day with the content of the previous one with a little makeup. You have absolutely great videos but they are at best 1/3 of all.
I wish better times ahead for this channel.
I want to know about that helmet...i want to rock pink.
Where can I find that saddle menn🥲 looking for that thing for ages
are you positive that that "trick" is actually called endo ? Pretty sure "endo" is crashing head first over the bars
Simple skills BUT they aren't easy to learn. Unless most viewers are pros. "Simple" never equates to "easy".
Never cross use these two words "simple" & "easy".
I have a question I been facing a issue couple months ago everytime I ask my friends to come for a ride they are like my bike it not okay, I live to far, I am working and I hate riding solo what advise can you give it to me in this situation
Join a fb mtb group and get new friends
@@Roboccobo only just beat me to it 🤙
Get used to riding solo or find new friends. Nothing else you can do unfortunately.
Get some dirt on their personal lives so you can blackmail them.
No manual, no olie, no cuties simple means no fun while riding 😇
follower from Philippines🇵🇭, can ask for bike parts, even just an RD shifter😊😊
I’m not sure I understand the difference between an endo and a stoppie by looking at this video. Seems to be the same…
They're very similar to each other. A stoppie is when you stop on your front wheel while an endo is a rolling stoppie. This means, that your rolling forward on your front wheel. 👍
Jesus Christ there's so many videos with Rich
I'm an Indian I want to buy a canyon hardtail but it's not available plz can anyone try to send it i will pay the amount
2nd
Whoops 3rds
🥉 People were super quick today! 😅
@@gmbn for manualing is it easier to use a hard tail or full squish
@@Comet-0500 hard tail
on almost all these skills, it will be easier on hardtail
These are NOT simple skills!
you guys are literally making the same videos over and over again pls make something new
There is nothing else to make they have done all to be honest
Feel like Blake did a video just like this
"Simple skills"
Are you serious? I just skinned myself today trying manual...
Definitely a bit repetitive guys
REALY A PINK LID 😭😭😭😭
Manual > 2sec is no where near being a simple skill.... I am a little fed up by these videos honestly.
A little more bikepacking/adventure riding is seriously needed, and way fewer mistakes/cornering/skills vids shot in the same bike park over and over plz.
I think it’s pretty poor of you to call those simple skills
EASY?! 🤦♂️🤮
Feckin aye ya bloody bastards. How about for us hacks? I love when pros say, it's easy...🤣🤦♂️🤌🖕
