Just started getting into mountain biking. These are THE best tutorials. Thanks from Australia guys
Glad you like them!
Hey Everyone! Hope you enjoy the video! We are out at an event this weekend and may not be able to respond to as many comments right away but we are gonna do are best to catch up later tonight! You guys all rock so much! Thank you for everything
Goodluck
Thank YOU for everything. You guys are so happy that your happiness crosses my screen to touch me, and now you've made my day (again xD). Thank you for teaching me tricks to do, you guys definitely are the ones who made me upgrade my game the most. ❤️
I would love more tips on how to ride fakie!!
Would love a fakie video.
Kyle&april#1😁
WAY more productive than watching the impeachment trial.🤣 Your presentation always has emphasis on enjoying bike riding, as well as the technical. All the best!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much! Yeah we love being a tiny distraction amongst all the craziness happening out there haha. You guys are the best!
Happy with you showing more skills content in a single video, but missed seeing April's progression/learning. Part of what I love about this channel (and in my view makes you much more relatable than most other content generators out there in this space) is that we get to see April struggle with the same issues we do and then hear from Kyle with his brilliant way of breaking down what April has done and how to fix it. To me this is the real gold of your channel and what keeps me coming back. (Sorry for talking about you both in third person, but didn't know how else to explain it).
Thank you so much for this message, we really do appreciate the feedback. April and I went out to film a normal how to video where we try to teach her the skills but with the weather in Idaho being so cold and windy lately we started filming the first few Skills and then when the wind kicked up we couldn’t get useable audio with our microphones. We tried to make our lemons into lemonade and film things without Audio and then I wrote and scripted voice over. The plan is to continue to make some more how to videos in the normal style as soon as the weather cooperates :)
@@AprilRideMTB there you go! A stuck inside version of this video.
Tracks stands were one of the first things I managed to learn back before I found your channel and learning how made more of difference on the trails than I ever would’ve thought it could.
Thats so cool! We hope you have an awesome weekend Kiana!
These really have helped my wife gain confidence to enjoy mountain biking more. Thanks for spreading the stoke!
So great to hear! 😊😊😊
This was definitely the best explanation and tips I’ve ever seen for how to do a track stand. I love how you give multiple personal tips for each trick and I can’t wait to try them out
Awesome, thank you! 😊
Surprisingly the most engaged I've felt with your videos. Well filmed, explained and repeatable
Great to see you guys back on line.
We are fully 'locked down' at our home here in UK, so the idea of 'home' sessions is just great!!
I am working on the 'foot plant' and track stand... hopefully these will make manoeuvring my Ebike without having to lift it on the trail.
Old age and heavy bikes do not mix!!
Thanks again
Toddy
A fakie tutorial would be great! I’ve been practicing but still can’t hop out of it. Thanks
Ok sweet we will do one for sure!! I have some tips :)
@@AprilRideMTB Seconded!
yes please
yes
You guys are the best teachers!!! No one tells it so easy and yet with so much precision 👍🏻
Thank you, glad you think so! 😊
I love the 180 foot plant! Super easy, my daughter and I picked it up right away. And practical! Way less effort than getting off the bike and turning it around, let alone "pizza hopping" for a full 180. I used to do this on my dirtbike (not a full 180) to maneuver in tight spaces. Don't know why I never thought of it. Thanks for the tip!
You guys are so good. Great source of insperation!
bro Kyle is actually so good at mountain biking. Does everything so effortlessly
Great tips! I would really like to see a video showing drills and progressions to ride fakie and revert out. Cheers!
This channel is a gem. Love the multiple skills in 1 video! We dont have to wait that long.
Sending love from the Philippines!
Thanks so much Jess! Yeah we want to do some more like this to give you some fun drills you can practice instead of the 1x per week video. I think we will do like 3 how to vids and 1 Skills one like this so you will have plenty of fun stuff to do :)
haha thanks for that im deffinately gonna try the back biking to practise my whips
I am watching you now for 6-7 videos. All started with the manual. I am really struggling with basics like in this video. But the explanation is brilliant! Just subbed. Please keep going now :)
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
This format is awesome, pure and simple makes these tricks easy to do✌🏻 well done guys
Thanks for teaching bike moves !
Thanks guys, you really are giving us no excuse not to be practicing doing something - no winter off season!
Loved the many tricks, all of them were quite something & eye turning (magnet hop - never seen that before!) - must locate the shin pads, as I'll need them!
Haha thanks Mr smith! Have fun learning some of the new skills :)
You guys are the best! I love how you break everthing down to make it easier to learn.
Thanks so much!
First time I hear someone calling "Backbiking" to the standard way dirtjumpers and slopestyle bikers use to visualize new tricks. Sounds cool Kyle!
Amazing video, thanks guys. I’m currently working on my fakie and reverts as they’re the weak part of my 180s - It’d be cool to ride backwards a bit further rather than reverting straight away. Going to put some time into this for sure! Definitely going to try the magnet hop and bike spin too - these sort of little jib moves are basically my favourite things to do on a bike. Keep up the great content!
Thats so awesome! Thanks so much for watching!! Hope you have a blast!
Yes, 180 foot plant tutorial. Normal and from wheelie. Thanks guys, great video.
Noted!
I can't thank you guys enough for this video. I've been trying to bunny hop for over 6 months with no success. I saw the magnet hop in this video, thought it looked interesting and tried it and then I tried doing the same motion with my feet on the pedals and did my first bunny hop.
That’s so awesome!!! Congrats!!! That comment just made our day!
I am really late to this party but super grateful for all the content you two are creating!
Your videos are crazy wholesome, and still really informative!
I just wish there were some decent places to ride near me! Thanks so much and keep shredding!
Glad you like them! At least all of these skills can be practiced in a parking lot, so that can help for when you do get to go to the trails!
The bike spin only took me 1 week to learn. Thx for making this video. Now i teached my friends and now they also know it now.😊👍
That's awesome, glad you learned and can teach your friends now!!!
For the 180 foot plant I start with a wheelie and plant my foot and lean. Maybe it’s just me but I personally think that way feels the most fluent. Great video by the way
Great video guys! Thanks for keeping me not bored while it’s snowy. I’m gonna try to get a dj so I’ll need to try the upside down technique. Also the twister bike thing... I have no words but I need to learn it 😃
No worries Kade!! Thanks so much for watching! Yeah the bike spin is so much fun!!
Enjoyed all the tips and tricks. I think the back exercise will be really helpful. Looking forward to trying them all.
Glad you like them!
Fun. And yes. Lots of useful stuff there. I stop often when I'm riding a new trail and track stance to scope out what I want to do through a technical section.
Glad you liked it! Awesome you already track stand, I find it soooo hard!!! -April
Im glad that i found you two😊
You've got a subscriber extra on your list. Keep up the work.
Thank you cheers. Greetings from New Zealand 👊
Thank you Douwe!!!
As always, well done.... Thanks for the great demo.... You both rock...👍👍
Our pleasure! Thanks so much for watching!
super good and useful video I will definitely come back to
thanks for making it
I really like this video style. It's quick _and_ informative _and_ fun to watch!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you very much again guys ! This was awesome ❤️ I would love to see a dedicated video for Fakies since you mention it. Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷
Ok awesome will do! The fakies are so much fun! We will definitely do a full video on it!
Love the detailed approach. I'm going for the 180 footplant (getting far too often on the wrong track). Thank you and hello from France
That is a fun skill! 😊
Great video. Great format. Lot’s of lower lying fruit that will up my MTB skills...stoked on that!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
That was fun! I think a video explaining the Fakie more in depth would be useful as I'm working on that skill right now. I manage to do a really good one on my third attempt in my "Night Ops" or "Old Man ~ Fat Bike 41" video and I was super stoked that I was able to actually do one! It seemed very easy at the time but now I'm trying to do more of them and I'm really struggling and I don't know why?
Great tips and nice! I like that you two with different skill levels are showing the same thing..
Thank you!
Thanks for videos! Really informative and fun to watch, looking forward for more!
Glad you like them!
Great lil video guys such a relaxed teaching method
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much!
Very detailed instructional video . Thank you so much !!! Love you guys
Glad you enjoyed it!
When the sun comes up tomorrow I’m going to start working on the fakie. Thank’s for the encouragement!
Glad it inspired you!
Your videos are awesome and very informative. I really need to work on my bike balance skills. Thanks
That’s awesome! Thank you Willy! Yeah balance is such a useful skill to develop! I hope you have fun!
Love it. 180 spin is perfect to learn, and pizza hops
The 180 spin was my favorite! -April
Great video. Practicing in the basement for winter. The trail turn around trick is excellent and the tips for a tracks stand. 2nd day and I'm progressing quick. I'm old too... Ha
Awesome, that’s great to hear!
Great instruction
thank u for this,im new to mountain biking and i just bought a bike so ill practice all of this
That's great to hear! 😊
You guys are just awesome!!!
Easy to understand techniques.
Like the way you explain
And if she can do it, why can't I...
Enjoying your vids.
God bless both of you 🙏👍
Thank you! 😊
Awesome video Kyle and April 👍🏻👍🏻
I like the outtakes at the end though, shows good progression and super funny to watch 👏🏻 😆
Thanks! Yeah we will for sure do more of those moving forward! Glad you enjoyed it!
Good ones to do in the basement until it warms up looks fun thanks for the video🙂
Exactly haha! Have fun Mike!
Great tips. You explain really well. Thank you
Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed!
Great Video 💪 . Love to See you both biking.
Thanks so much Tobias!!
Very cool, will start to practice some of these skills!
That was very cool guys. Great job. April is becoming a pro now, lol 😆
Very useful. Thanks for the tips ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍
I love you guys!!!! I am watching all of the videos!!!
you guys are great! thanks for your simple and kind how to's
Happy to help! 😊
These are great! They are skills for me to learn to MTB the way I want to ride - more trials than DH and have fun going slow and safe :)
That's great to hear Matt, glad we can provide you with the skills you enjoy! 😊
Sitting here watching Kyle(Magician) and April(Apprentice) do these fun tricks while "working" from home. XD XD
I can't wait to try out these bike skills. Thanks y'all!! Love the new format, but i also love the old format too.. lol
Thanks so much Tenzin! We plan on doing a bunch more of the longer format as soon as it warms up a little in Boise haha. Thanks so much for the kind comment :)
I like this format, it caters to riders who have a medium experience. Even with my beginner experience, some of them I can get from this video, but others a longer video would help me finish them off.
Thanks for the feedback Jason!
Nice, that explains some of the stuff I saw in Danny MacAskill's Wee Day Out!
Thanks Kevin!
Great video once again. I really enjoy your videos! Keep them coming.
Thank you!!! 😊
So much great info here!
I'm impressed on how fast April gets the stuff done.
I've been riding for 2 years and I still suck at it. #respect
I really like your tutorials. Great job!
Cheers from Brazil.👍👍✌️
Thank you so much Rodrigo! That means a lot! Just keep having fun and you will improve a ton! April has 10+ years of motorcycle experience so that helps her learning curve a ton!
It’s a great format for more “simple” tricks like this
Thanks Art! Yeah we got out to do the video and the wind was so bad we couldn’t really get any useful audio so we figured we would try this style :) glad you liked it!
@@AprilRideMTB I love this content
awesome tips guys. thank you!
Our pleasure! Thanks!
Great format!!
Too Amazing For all ! We want more of That !! Thanks You Guys For such videos ✌️🇮🇳 India
Very attractive tutorials! Keep up enjoying your selves and us with your videos!
Thank you so much!!! 😊
Awesome bro I can lear those steps slowly
Wow! As a beginner, I am really, truly impressed about the skills demonstrated here! #Kudos #Respect
Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines!
Thanks so much Yeng! Hopefully you can apply some of these and have a blast! Thanks for watching the videos!
@@AprilRideMTB I will train as I am willing & able! Thank you for the encouragement!
Track stand pizza hop turn would be good to go into more depth. Liked the format. Keep up the great work!
Ok noted!! Thanks so much Michael!
Really cool video! I like when you incorporate bloopers at the end, so much fun! Thnx for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for watching!
Great skills vid. Love your content.
Thank you so much! It’s fun making these for you guys and seeing people apply it :)
Love the 180 foot plant. It works a treat at the cashpoint.
Thats awesome so stoked you liked it!
Well done guys!
Tbh, it's my first time knowing a cycling trick like this. I am so very interested in learning it. Thank's to youtube for suggesting this channel. Love you guys from Indonesia. ❤
That’s so cool! Thanks so much Hendra!
@@AprilRideMTB You're welcome, I started watching your video of "how to wheelie", from there I was excited to wait for your next video. You guys so cool. Keep it up!
These are really cool! You should do an in-depth video of each one separately.
Thanks for the suggestion!
that's cool I'll try it when all this snow is gone I used my manual trainer to practice the tract stand it helped alot.thanks for the video
That’s so rad to hear! Thanks Aka!
Awesome video 👌
The manual foot plant manual was sick Kyle 👑
The outro music and outtake was perfect.
The undisputed champs 🥊🥊🏆🏆
Thank you! ❤️
How does april learn so fast??
Because Kyle is a good teacher.
She also rode dirt bikes, so maybe having that skill helps?
Another great video. Defo going to try the foot plant next time I'm out!
Interested in the pizza hop, would a video about basic trials skills be a possibility?
Yeah thats a great video idea Alex! I just wrote it down on the list! Thanks so much man!
I second that. :)
Great vid and 3 more skills to learn: fakie, footplant and pizza hop (side hop....). Great ways to keep me occupied during lockdowns and with trails that are complete mudfests. The side hop will take me some time to master.
Glad to hear you are going to practice them!
Awesome!!! Thanks 🙃
Interesting video! I will try it! 👍👍
Loved this format!
Thats awesome Thomas! Thanks for watching!
Just after watching the intro, I subscribed your channel! Great channel to improve your biking skills!
Awesome, thank you and welcome! 😊
Thank you for the good information.
Our pleasure!
Pizza hops and stoppie shifts. I knew I was missing something. Thank you!
Another cool share. Thanks Kyle and April! I have a suggestion. I'm not sure if you've done this or if you can relate. Since biking with my BMX to road bike to MTB (and folding bikes), I made it a point to also train how to do quick dismounts and bailouts. In other words, trained how to crash and get away without injuring yourself. One time I was traveling down a very muddy road (there was a heavy downpour earlier ) and couldn't slow down since it was really slippery and a 90˚ turn was coming, I tried my best to slow down without sliding out of control. Then as I was trying to turn still while it was still fast, the front wheel landed in a deep rut and lost control but somehow by instinct (muscle memory), I kicked off my pedals and pushed back my bars under me and flew over the bars but since I practiced doing rolls a lot and visualized it, I landed on my hands and did a forward roll and ended up on my feet.....quickly picked up my bike and rode aways as if nothing happened.
That is a great idea for a video! I need help learning how to bail to honestly so maybe we could partner up with someone on that vid! I know Seth bike hacks is great at bailing so that would be such a fun collab haha
I like this format! I'd be interested in a more in depth video on the fakie and pizza.
Another tip for the track stand is to do it into a slight incline, with the front wheel turned up the incline. It's definitely easier. I got really good at track stands when I used to bike commute in the city: whenever I came to a red light I would try to track stand as long as I could. In time I managed to to be able to not pedal for the entire light. Now I'm learning how to do it without holding the brakes, or even holding the handlebars (leaning the seat into your leg).
I'll definitely try the going fakie again. I've always wanted to do that, and your tip seems like a good one. I'll wait until the snow is gone though!
That’s so rad!! Thanks for the tip for people too! Have fun with the fakie! It’s really cool when it clicks haha!
Love your vids guys. Keep up the good work 👌🏿
Thanks Jordan!
thanks for the tips, I find while doing a track stand that having your shoulders square with the handlebars and keeping them square and staring down the forks helps me stay balanced longer. also as you move the bars move your shoulders to follow the bars and move your hips to the outside of the direction of bike lean. if that makes sense to you.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing Rob! We will try that out!
Fun video, really like the 180 foot plant, have to try that one for sure.
It was my favorite for sure! 😊 -April
I HAVE to try the magnet hop and fakie on my next ride haha
