That’s exactly what makes buu a true villain. He has no restraint, and no hesitation. He is just pure evil with no morals and that is exactly what a villain is. He’s terrifying with no reasoning
Vegeta's speech even till today gives me goosebumps. The words he used was just on another level. The Japanese version also is just poetry. An extremely proud prince to let go of his ego admit that a low class warrior is better than him is just absolutely phenomenal character growth.

It really is great growth. It really stinks in my opinion that they made dragon ball super because now that he is trying to compete with gokus strength again he is more arragant again. Its part of the reason i liked gt better. Vegeta is hardly used in it. While normally i think losing screen time for a great character like that is bad, in vegetas case i think its better because after this confession having him compete against goku again means there was no point in the scene. Part of vegetas character is his arragance and constant fight to be better than goku so having him admit this then go back to usual is just dumb to me.

Vegeta goes through mood swings like this during battle all the time. Every time his pride gets absolutely crushed by an opponent or by Goku, he starts monologuing to himself or to anybody within earshot about his insecurities, his weakness, and about his struggles with measuring up with the best of the best (even though he is still among the best of the best). Then he gets better, his pride builds up again, and he realizes that he's not that far behind and he returns to his competitive self again.
Vegeta finally admits Goku is #1, the best line in the buu arc. It shows just how far Vegeta has come and how much character development he's gone through.
I rewatched the episodes because of these reactions and I can’t believe how likable everything Vegeta does from his atonement until the tournament finale is

Nope. Before you point out the bad animation in super know that it was only at the beginning 20 or so episodes out of 131 with the last arc having some of the best animations in anime history. Anything else is just personal preference.

I always come back to this fight, it’s been one of favorite fights in this series. I mean just looking at Kid Buu’s crazy and unorthodox way of fighting vs a talented martial artist like Goku was so good to watch as a kid.

Dude, you have no idea how amazing this is. I can't describe the feeling of seeing you get so hyped up and invested in these characters and the events taking place in this series. I'm 32, and I've been a fan of DBZ since I was 10 years old. Keep doing what you're doing.
Personally, I'd recommend watching all of Dragon Ball, movies included, all of DBZ, including movies, DBZ Kai, GT and Super. It sounds like you're rapidly becoming a fan of this franchise, so I say just dive in and go all the way down that rabbit hole. I don't like some of the things I recommended you to watch, but you should judge all of it for yourself, and I won't let my opinions shape yours. I think you should watch all of it, determine what you like and what you don't, and just go along for the ride. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Gotta admit these few episodes had some really awesome animation sequences…..and almost consistent too! One more thing when Goku was gonna go ssj3 he just grunts and literally caused a lightning bolt!! Also damn Vegeta’s sheer will to survive is too good getting decimated by buu in his base form ….Duh!

So much to say about this fight...
The creativity with Buu as they show off a proper fight against an amorphous shapeshifter.
The whole universe and even the after life tuning in to watch.
The sense of scale and power.
Easily one of the best fights in all of DBZ and a great way to send off the series.
And don't worry, Vegeta get's more moments as we go on into Super.

The land of the Kais where they're fighting at is basically indestructible . Like even in the old DB games when they had arena destruction in the games, the Supreme Kai planet would never get destroyed like the other levels .

If that's true then I'm guessing it's the creation magic associated with the Kais that keeps it from getting destroyed. It basically has a regeneration factor...or a Buu factor to it. Doubt even Beerus would be able to counter that permanently. Zeno, on the other hand...
Doubts are wrong. Beerus could have destroyed the world of the kais as easily as any other world but it "wouldn't have been proper" for him to level that world so he did what he did to the character we all know of instead.

God this is so great! I still love how random Kid Buu can be, his poses, dances, emotes and laughs. It’s honestly really entertaining haha. This is the point where Vegeta truly changed tho. He grew so much as a character, he came from far! He was a selfish planet busting prince that blew up his closest friend Nappa (who also kinda raised him) for silly reasons. And now he’s a man with a family, that he loves in his own way. Defended Earth countless of times, and now even the Universe. He’s not thinking at his own gain anymore, like he did with Cell and the androids. He truly cares about both Earth and his family and he even admitted that Goku is better than him. Yet he does all that without losing himself, he’s still “Vegeta”. The real winner here is Vegeta, and he deserves more like you said. That’s some great character development. Goku however is still the same as he was when he was 10 years old haha. But that’s how dragonball is, at least Vegeta gets to shine. If you watch the original DB, you’ll see that Tien and Piccolo were the “Vegetas” of that era. They were god damn awesome! Tien beating Goku’s ass I mean that’s awesome! Goku is my favorite character so I’m not complaining but they should definitely let other characters shine more too. Characters like Tien seem fodder and unimportant to new fans that have only watched Super or DBZ. But if you’ve watched the original DB, you’ll gain a lot of respect for all the “fodder” characters.
Buu is my favorite villin of all shows! So childlike, evil, and unhinged!

Depends a lot on the amount of time they have to work with and the peopke that are available. A lot of very good animators managed to meet for thid episode. There is a video talking abput the best and worst animated DBZ episode.

I think Vegeta probably went in without SSJ because, after seeing SSJ3 couldn't out power Buu, he knew that he couldn't outpower him either. So maybe he just planned on trying to outlast him by fighting in base to conserve his stamina and try to find the limits of Buu's regeneration.
Didn't work out too well, but it's the only reason I can think of for Vegeta to have gone in with his base form (although I don't think he did in the manga).
But yeah, Vegeta's tribute to Goku is one of the most memorable moments in all of DBZ. And it's the watershed moment that kind of completes his story arc throughout DBZ. And transforms him into the Vegeta that we see in Super; fundamentally the same character, but much more mellowed and having a kind of grudging friendship with Goku.
no, it was because of an error in the order of transmission of the show, they skiped one episode of the real order and inserted it later after this one, that's also the reason why they seem injured before the fight as SS3 starts, and seems the one that made the resumed compilation that this guy is watching didn't try to fix, if the next part he watch is resumed from the same broadcasting order, maybe everyone would be able to notice wich was the real order, that is that Goku went out of energy so Vegeta starts fighting so Goku can rest and the Vegeta turns super saiyan, then Goku goes back and this part happen whit Vegeta unable to go super saiyan again, it happen about 3 times in the fight whit the last one being Goku finally unable to reach SS 3 again so they go for the Genkidama/spirit bomb
This Vegeta vs Kid Buu fight is not present in the manga and is an inconsistency in the anime. He's somehow slightly injured and doesn't even transform. You'll see in the next episode Vegeta won't even have a scratch on him and has all of his strength, because the fight never happened.

The Majin Buu saga gave Vegeta so much character development that I’m glad I’m a Vegeta fan especially since his character development just keeps increasing after this saga into Super. Vegeta has more character development then goku which is pretty funny in my eyes.

No holding back and being evil don’t really have any correlation in this. Second matter is Buu simply has no regard for any form of life other then himself, maybe.
Also something you need to keep in mind is that Buu is in incarnation of chaos, meaning he will do things just because he can, not because it actually benefits him in anyway.
And yes, he’s an arrogant little shit who was mocking Goku at the beginning.
As for Vegeta, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed this, but he is a very Ki reliant fighter, so using something like SSJ3 which burns through ki reserves at an astonishing rate would be completely counterproductive for him. Not sure if he’s said it yet, but Vegeta at one point actually referees to SSJ3 as a waste of a transformation and decides to stick with mastering the base Super Saiyan with SS2 as a backup, not that the creator of DBZ seems to even remember that now-a-days.
When it comes to Vegeta and Super Saiyan 3, I could very easily be mistaken, but I'm fairly certain he knows how to reach it. He seems to know a lot about kai. I'm admittedly not a huge fan of his, but he's extremely smart. It would not surprise me at all if he figured out how to obtain the form from watching Goku demonstrate it. For all we know, he may have actually transformed offscreen, but then just dismissed it because of the points you brought up about the rapid kai consumption clashing with Vegeta's kai-intensive style of fighting. At least that's a theory I ran across once, and I happen to agree. Vegeta is way too intelligent not to have figured out how to go SS3, and I think it would be good enough for him to know how to access that state, especially considering the fact that both Goku, his rival, and Gotenks, the amalgamation of his son and the son of said rival, could do it. Even if he hated the transformation and decided that it wasn't worth his time, I personally believe he does know how to go Super Saiyan 3, but chooses not to do so under any circumstances whatsoever.
@@BlindRobotDragon I think it's far more likely that he COULD reach it if he wanted to once he realized it exists, but never bothered even trying to since he knows about it's drawbacks thanks to Goku. After all, he learned about the weakness of the form directly from Goku during this fight with Buu, and I believe Vegeta's smart enough that he wouldn't waste time trying to achieve something that he know wouldn't have any use to him. The only justification I think he could possibly have to ever try and reach Super Saiyan 3 is that he would want to be able to since Goku can, but after swallowing his pride here and admitting Goku's better than him, I don't see that happening either.
