2024 Widow's Day: Lagos State Government to Empower 800 Widows with #50,000 Each

In commemoration of the International Widows’ Day, the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has given N50,000 each to 800 widows.
The commissioner for women affairs and poverty alleviation, Cecilia Bolaji Dada, explained that the beneficiaries were drawn from various non-governmental and faith-based organisations, the State Social Register, political groups, and the ministry’s register of vulnerable widows who had sought assistance.
The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Accelerating the Achievement of Gender Equality.’
