There are so many absolutely amazing pedals out there, especially delay, reverb and other tools for ambiance but there is just something about this pedal’s sound. I’m in love. It’s not a novelty at all. It really has integrity.
just got one of these in the mail today! it's so unique, really loving the wide variety of tones available. defs gonna be finding a permanent spot on my board for sure
Love when you get the jazzmaster out, pedal sounds nice too
🤟🏻
Has noone built a tape echo out of a VCR? They actually have pretty decent audio quality. Way better than cassette tapes. The physical path for the tape inside the machine would be a bit complicated foor closed loops maybe. I learned how to fix VCRs when I studied electronics in the mid 90s but I don't remember much. Still use the soldering skills though! I am so old.
I think in the days of cassette four-tracks, people recording at home would often mix down to vcr due to the sound quality, so it could definitely be possible. In fact... you may just have invented the next must-have boutique pedal.... ;)
@@tituschalk Yeah and you could also use regular VHS tapes in the semi-professional ADAT machines that were around in the 90s. I would also argue for the possibility to use VHS videotape stock in a 1/2-inch reel to reel machine, someone oughta have tried that, considering the prices of professional 1/2-inch tape. This sounds like a project for Hainbach.
This video tells me that I still need a jazzmaster.
Yup!
Perfect conclusion....!
@@neoaureus 2 years later and I have one now. It was a wise choice.
xNimrod97x ...grt! Has lot of tonal range
Like a DD-3 mixed with Generation Loss. I can dig it.
Sounds great!! very nice demo
✌🏻
A demo well done!
I love the idea and the graphics. 90s rules! :)
Very reminiscent of some blank tapes I've got lying around, the stripes having their colors from Sony and their array from Polaroid.
it was the time of colored stripes.. they was everywhere... including Apple Macintosh computers :D @@rickc2102
Beautiful.
Big fan of the pedal and its creator...super glad you reviewed it. 👍
👍🏻
love it
Me too!
Awesome demo! I'd love to know what you used to edit this video and give it that old timey look. Well done
Thanks! It's a combination of using vintage lenses and color grading.
Did you film in that 4:3/1:1 aspect ratio or was that done in post?
Done in post
This pedal sounds incredible. Guess I'm eating lean this month!
Haha too real!
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
If you already happen to have the Strymon Volante pedal you can get very similar sounds if you tinker with it……and a similar flavor with the Electro Harmonix Memory Man Deluxe too
Has anybody tried this pedals with vocals? Looking for a pedal to give a nice slap back effect
What filter was used on this?
Got one some time ago. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner when I turn it on. I tried it on different amps, even straight through the sound board, but the same result. I even talked to Steve Damedash himself and he says it's kind of normal, and that he gets that hissing vacuum cleaner sound on some amps as well. How do you get that clean sweet sound out of this pedal?
That can’t be normal
I’m not familiar with this pedal, but it could be the power supply. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, but the pedal may just not like it. Maybe try a different power supply, or a power supply that’s separate from your other pedals. Some pedals are sensitive to being powered on the same chain as other pedals.
Does the clean signal always remain that way? Meaning the Tape Quality knob only affects the delay/echo? Is there a way to get solely the video tape sound with no echo? If not this pedal does anyone know of one that does?
Jim Cathcart shallow water gets close
Cooper FX Generation Loss does exactly what you’re describing
What pickups/strings are you using? Sounds amazing.
His fingers and ears are 99% more important than the stock pickups and probably Daddario 11s he’s using...
@@toneyrockstv ok
That lick from 2:10-2:18 sounds familiar. Does anyone know if it’s from a song?
Chet Atkins - Mr. Sandman
That guitar is so well tuned, it makes me sick.
:)
Which JazzMaster is this exactly?
American Vintage 62 reissue
Eirik, what's the name of the slapback song @2:10?
Mr Sandman!
How much
225 usd when demedash does drops on Reverb. He just did one today, actually. But there is a mailing list.
Price tag on this though... :
Does anyone think it would be a waste of money for a bass player to buy this?
Not if it inspires you.
MTNDEW Salamander do it
Not at all
Abunchofpedals has a bass clip in his demo that sounds really good to me
@@therewasascene Thanks dude. I ended up settling for a space spiral. I couldn't get one when my name was finally picked to buy one.
Nice. But my El Capistan gives me very similar possibilities... So I don't think I need it soooo bad...
Then I have the Count to Five, which covers other aspects represented in this pedal.
But definitely nice.
Nice Hawaiian shirt
I WANT THAT SHIRT!!! What brand if you don't mind me asking?
Death By Audio Echo Dream 2 in a Box type pedal.
So dubby
It was cool till I saw the price tag :(
Sounds like a memory boy
