Why would they make it shorter? Is there a different router they’re using? Just seems odd they’d have a brand new bit and you have to modify it?
Right?! I think these are honestly mostly made for large scale board manufacturers who probably have a separate router for each bit, set the bit at the right height one time and leave it forever, that’s my guess. But who knows, maybe it’s a fail in design oversight. Despite that little fluke, they are AMAZING BITS, they cut so clean and crisp! Weird but still recommend!!
Great video!
Great content once again!.. Futures LetsssGooo.. Have a nice weekend!
They route sooooo cleannn
Great content man, keep up the excellent work🤙🏻
Hey, much thanks!
Yes! Let’s gooooo!!!!!
You’re supposed to line up the left crosshairs when routing the right fin box and lining up the right cross hairs doing it on the left
Hey there bro' thanks for the video, for a complete newby.. whay does fututres have twi different depths for their fin boxes and is the cant not a part of the fin itself with the futures system
There are 1/2 and 3/4th inch fin boxes. The center fin has less torque placed on it since the fin is placed vertically at 90 degrees so you can get away with a less deep fin box, 1/2 inch. The side fins on a thruster are typically placed at a 6 degree angle or “cant”, since these fin boxes take more torque they need to be deeper to support the torque 3/4 inch. If you look closely the fins themselves (for thruster set up) they are actually designed with some angle (cant) to them. The center fin will have no angulation while the side fence themselves will be angled. This built-in fin angulation generally speaking helps the fin boxes sit more flat into the surfboard, but still needs small tweaking when placing fin boxes
Dude hope it helps!!!
Your video quality is looking good. What camera are you using?
Hey thanks man! I upgraded to the Sony zv1, it’s awesome! amzn.to/3UpFzvY
@@RockandSeaGarageBoardShop I was just looking at that one a bit ago. 👍🏻
It’s awesome, has pretty amazing depth of field giving that cinematic look for such a small camera
The future boxes aren’t supposed to have any can’t Becuase the fins have the can’t is this true?
It’s the future fins actually that have cant! Each fin is designed with a specific amount of cant, some more some less depending on the shape of the wave and fin design. That being said, the bottom of boards aren’t flat, when we shape in concave the fin box will follow the contour of the concave and can alter the cant the fin would naturally be sitting at on a flat surface. Always check and Sometimes you need to resin in the box while holding it in the corrected angle, sometimes just a couple of degrees but worth getting perfect 🫡👍
You run your front fins at 12?
For thruster, front fins are canted at 6 degrees!
