    The bottom point is always at centre mark. Up mark depend of L or R side and TOE-IN you need.

    So what's the story with that tail you're dropping the fin box into, some kind of split double stringer fish?

    • @Shrednaught
      @Shrednaught  Před 2 lety

      That was an old board of mine I snapped. Yeh I glued up a double stringer that both curved opposite at the tail out. Trying to control flex. But for the video I was just using the busted portion as a prop

    Hello, thanks to your vidéo but i dont understand why you have 3 lines : middle,left and right. We cant use the same marks for all ?
    Thanks

    • @Shrednaught
      @Shrednaught  Před rokem

      Good question. The answer is no. You want to use the centre mark for your centre fin obviously but the side fins should line up with the inside foil of the fin not the centre point.
      Hope this helps a bit 🤙

    I just bought a router laminate trim 1/4". What else do I need I see you have a straight flush bit, what size? Also do I need to buy a shank?

  • @jg3549
    @jg3549 Před rokem

    Great video. Whats the deal when you have concave when routing out fin boxes as one side of plug will sit higher, do you just route bit lower on on side to level up. Does template need to be leveled up or do you just go with natural concave. Cheers

    • @Shrednaught
      @Shrednaught  Před rokem

      Thanks mate. You can route flush with the foam still but then you need to take into account the cant angle when setting the boxes. So if I had a significant concave and I was looking for 5-6 degree cant I would use a 9 degree cant box. Generally concave isn’t too extreme and it doesn’t hinder you too much. But if it does throw cant angles out just using tape to bring back to desired angle generally works well.

      @@Shrednaught located in the UK, just the shapers squares so nothing too crazy. I can find some, but unsure if they have markers for the fin positions as well as rail measurements etc (thanks for the reply)

    • @Shrednaught
      @Shrednaught  Před 3 lety

      @@cameronthorpe9120 ok cool. Majority of the shapers squares just have the measurement increments and you place the dots down where required. • @Shrednaught
      @Shrednaught  Před 3 lety +1

      @@cameronthorpe9120 that square looks good man. You will still need to learn how to read it. No shapers squares will have a universal measurement for fins as all boards are different. Just ask the manufactures for instructions and should be fairly straight forward.
      Good luck 🤙
