Boris, I have no idea if you'll ever read this, but I still use this vid as inspiration for making BLT's to this day after seeing it on TV so many years ago. Thanks.
I agree with MrTeeleer. Asians are just as passionate as the French. The French seems to be the most "refined" when it comes to cooking. But when it comes to passion, Asians love their food and respect it a hell of a lot too.
This is why I love cooking - you can learn endlessly! I was like "who cooks bacon in the oven? gradually?"...I've tried it and it's the most perfect bacon ever....I admit I was wrong....which is rare=)
e bai YEP...I thought cooking bacon slowly was horseshit..until I tried it..now I always take the half hour to bake it slow...its so much better...no waste and no gross, fatty-bubble pieces...
Actually french food uses a lot of herbs rather than spices, and most of the herbs used in french food grows in Europe and have grown in Europe for centuries. Herbs like parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme etc are the bedrock of french cuisine. And most cultures almost without exception are passionate about their food. I would be difficult to travel the length and breadth of the earth and not find a culture even small tribal villagers who are not passionate about their cuisine.
@dancergirlmh it would ultimately depend on the cut though. I've seen presliced bacon with, no joke, maybe 10% actual meat on it, probably less. I buy my bacon as a slab and cut it myself. Also, depending on how long you cook the bacon, it could have more or less fat. the longer you cook the more fat is expelled, crisper and dryer. I also use the bacon fat and make my own mayo.
I cannot stand how grammatically incorrect the title of this show is!! I try to get over it, but it bothers me to no end. Anyway, the BLT looks amazing!!
Grilled (I mean broiled for all you American folks) proscuitto is like bacon plus. Seriously, if you like crispy bacon, you MUST try grilled proscuitto. Mortal bacon will just not cut it for me any more.
Yes you start from the bottom up lol lol and yes you have to cook the Bacon gradually, this guy is a mental genius, and I love a little bet of a mess when eating a nice sandwich..
Most people who say they don't like mayonnaise have only tried it once, not homemade and on its own. When it is homemade and combined with other flavors such as in a BLT then I defy anyone to say they don't like it. Trust me I work in a kitchen and the amount of times waitresses say they don't like something, I make something with that thing, don't tell them it's in there, they try it and love it. People are too stubborn and childish to even try
Haha, I was just in the mood for trolling the other day! You are indeed right, I wasn't talking about deceiving the customers (because they could have allergies or intolerance's ), I was talking about the waitresses. It's just some of the girls I work with say they don't like anything and sometimes they seem like kids who won't give proper food a chance, it's upsetting! I do however get annoyed when I buy a packaged sandwich and it has no mayo or equivalent sauce, it's too dry.
@alesbica The Best Thing I've Ever Eaten sounds better and is more common, but that does not make The Best Thing I Ever Ate grammatically incorrect. Here's another example: The best place I ever went to VS The best place I've ever been to Both are correct. You probably just think it's wrong because you're going by your ear without actual knowledge of grammar : )
he said the french are more passionate about food then anybody, what about asians, i mean if it wasnt for the asians(im also including India) then the french or just about anywhere else would have bland tasting food. Asia gave spices and stuff to Europe.
So good, i use to toast both sides until now. now i know the secret is keep the bread stacked to preserve moisture. It also helps to keep the sandwich together! i use 3 strips, 4-6 when i wanna feel fat XD that chef uses A LOT of mayo imo
You work in a kitchen and you purposely don't cook what people order? I agree with your points, and I hate when people say "I don't like that", but its not up to any of us to decide what adults want to eat. IMO a profesional would never trick a paying customer
Boris, I have no idea if you'll ever read this, but I still use this vid as inspiration for making BLT's to this day after seeing it on TV so many years ago. Thanks.
I love how you can very much see their personalities in what food they pick to be their favorite.
I agree with MrTeeleer. Asians are just as passionate as the French. The French seems to be the most "refined" when it comes to cooking. But when it comes to passion, Asians love their food and respect it a hell of a lot too.
I have 30+% French ancestry and am a foodie & I'm primarily attracted to Asian guys, this is adding more.
Vegans love bacon so much that they replicate it out of tofu, shitake mushrooms & coconut. Incredible.
Boris looks just as delicious as the sandwich! ;)
This is why I love cooking - you can learn endlessly!
I was like "who cooks bacon in the oven? gradually?"...I've tried it and it's the most perfect bacon ever....I admit I was wrong....which is rare=)
what does it mean by cooking it gradually?
+lanciauxrayz slowly, overtime.
e bai YEP...I thought cooking bacon slowly was horseshit..until I tried it..now I always take the half hour to bake it slow...its so much better...no waste and no gross, fatty-bubble pieces...
I cook my bacon the same exact way on parchment paper at 325 flipping them around 3-5 times to avoid scorching it.
After seeing this for the first time on food network years ago I tried it and have never looked back….it’s is absolutely the best way to cook bacon 👌🏿
The blt is the greatest sandwich of all time.
I saw this video four years ago and about an hour ago was craving it so bad and it took me that long to find it omg what am I doing with my life
I went to Choice Market for a BLT. IT WAS AWESOME!!! The rosemary mayo is great and it was all around just amazing.
i could ate this everyday till i die... i want it so bad now.. look at that color the freshness the bacon grrrrrrrrrr
@alesbica Wait up, what's incorrect? If you're talking about the name of the show, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, that's grammatically correct.

Stand up if you're french and proud to be !

I cannot stand how grammatically incorrect the title of this show is!! I try to get over it, but it bothers me to no end.
Anyway, the BLT looks amazing!!

NO they WON'T !!!!!!! MY POINT IS MORE VALID THAN YOURS IS!
@PorkyPower100 Its all fat and grease... *Shudder* I'll eat almost any other meat, but bacon is a no no
Why did he say Americans distrust the French? Most go to France to study the culinary arts, they are the panicle of food
Don't forget about Americans. The Americas gave the world tomatoes lol.
while you are correct that you CAN eat the other types of bacon, there is no type that beats the good old pork. (no offence) :)
The intro shouldn't be 10% of the video.
@gonegolfn07 Glad to see you don't believe in opinions.
You know that shit is like $8
