Zhongli teaches a boring af history class, but it's still crammed every year, because... well, of course you could take Kokomi's course on world history, but you'd deprive yourself of Zhongli's voice, which everyone drools over. Also, the hot mysterious older gentleman vibes are also amazing, of course... And Zhongli just wonders why there's 90% of the people signing up for his class over Kokomi's every year and just doesn't get it.
Childe as an amazing elementary school teacher isn't even a hot take, I think. He's very caring, he loves his siblings and is great with kids, and if we assume he's a teacher, he's probably not in need of Fatui money. So my guess is, he just had a shitty childhood and got into some trouble and has a criminal record with a few minor to not-so-minor incidents, but then graduated with a few years delay and breezed through college and got into teaching as kind of a "redemption arc" for his teenage stupidities and now is both a very fun, carefree type of teacher, but also very in tune with the kids and always making sure they're happy. He's the kind of teacher who WILL call CPS if he notices anything amiss and feels like a kid would be mistreated

I love this I just have to offer a counterpoint that BECAUSE Childe is a teacher and gets paid nothing he's broke and so like sells unlicensed guns or something shady on the side. But he's still really cheerful and nice and protective of the kids so he's extremely careful to keep his shady business and teaching career very separate.

Hot take for Xiao: heâs retired from the military, and became a history teacher. Heâs very quiet and serious, but he does care a lot about his students. Heâd tell a bunch of stories from his time in the military. Heâs one of those teachers you either love or hate.

Yoimiya is also the same but she doesn't have a dark secret and doesn't take you to expensive field trips
Xiao would be the teacher that is very strict and very blunt. A lot would dislike him at first and people would be scared to ask questions but the longer they get taught by him the more they understand that he's doing it for their own good and is generally a nice teacher.

I think Heizou would be under half the students have a crush on him or everyone's favorite teacher makes learning fun, mostly because of his demeanors. He's canonically flirty and playful so I feel like he'd be the type of teacher that has a "nothing leaves this room" sort of dynamic where the teacher treats the student like an adult and says whatever they want in front of them. I feel like he'd teach probably law, criminology, or self defense considering he got himself caught in the trap in game and knew how to get himself out but was waiting to trick the captors, he'd probably be able to show students how to get out of tough situations. A financial class also makes sense but I can't see him being boring if anything i could see him being bored of it, he'd wanna change the curriculum to make it more fun for himself, take the class on field trips or show them movies about fraud (which are probably not allowed in school but shh). He'd be the type to make you learn a lot but it's not obvious because the lesson is so fun, he also slips humor and dirty jokes into it, it's a shock he's not fired but his students love him too much.

Xiao teaches mythology but focuses mainly on the really dark symbolism of it and so the students are all slightly traumatized by the end. Half the class turns emo by the end of the year.

My head canon: If Xiao is a Pokemon trainer, he will train Ghost and Dark types. His team will have a Spiritomb, a Ceruledge, a Hisuian Samurott, a Grimmsnarl, and two variants of Zoroark (Unovan and Hisuian).
Itto was like a summer camp assistant one summer and that got him hooked to wanting to play around with kids all day
We all knew Kaeya would be on "Half the class has a crush on them" like it's a no brainer.
For some reason, I see Itto as an Advance Calculus II teacher where he solves complex integrals in matter of minutes, the class does not understand him but he re does the same exercise until everyone understands the topic meanwhile Shinobu is the one who grades the exam.
Itto wouldn't have guts to grade someone and Shinobu would have to grade everyone like: "They literally have 20% and it's an F" "They did their best you can't grade them an F"

Alright my needlessly complicated headcanon behind Ei's firing!
She's always wanted to be a teacher, but when she was in like sophomore year college her sister died traumatically in a shooting or something, so now she has really awful PTSD and severe untreated anxiety. Still kept on trying to become a teacher because it was her dream. She's only got two friends in the world, Yae and Sara, that have helped her in the past, but now Sara is super busy and exhausted all the time from her job, gets off and immediately conks out in front of the TV, and Yae has her own job.
Ei really wants to be a good teacher, but she gets so anxious about it that she just ends up in her room staring at her door gnawing on her fingernails, doesn't go to class, and gets fired only a few months out of college. Yae and Sara keep trying to convince her to get help but she's afraid that psychiatrists will think there's something unfixable and broken inside her and she's too anxious to go, so now that she's been fired she just sits in her tiny studio apartment all day drowning her sorrows in video games and escapism and refusing to leave.
Cyno would be like a teacher, that have a strict set of rules to obey BUT if you break any of them he won't shout at you, but comment on your behaviour in a ultra sarcastic way and all of the school knows him for that
(Like I have a chemistry teacher like that and for example he doesn't allow drinking anything in his class but if you drink anything and he'll notice it he usually says something like "oh maybe you want a sausage, we can heat it up upon a burner so you won't eat cold" and he says it in strange way and you freak out and can't get words out of your mouth... Sounds pretty like Cyno XD)
Diona would be a serious anti-drug class teacher for sure, to the point of berating the students, lol.
Fischl would certainly be a serious acting class teacher too, and the students would constantly be confused in her class because she's always in character.
Mona would very possibly be a serious astrology teacher too. Just because she has money issues doesn't really mean she has no interest teaching people.
I see both Yelan and Shenhe getting fired over the same thing, though: teaching the students illegal stuff.
Shenhe would just bluntly and calmly tell the students to beat the sh*t out of someone if they harass you and then move on with the lesson like she didn't say anything
Not sure why but I feel the Lumine would be the teacher that students would have a crush on, she gives me that fun and sweet vibes whilst being pretty too.
Also I reckon Xiao would be something like culture studies or maybe even religious studies
Tighnari reminds me of that science teacher that tags along field trips, giving you reports to find, identify and draw plants. You love that teacher but the magic kind of drops in trips when you see them in their pj's trying to fit in.
Xiao would teach a really abstract subject like art history or religion and lecture about mysticism, fetishism, urmonotheismus, totemism, animism, rituals of different cultures on like a college level. with his students he might be curious about them, about how young people's life is like (because teaching is the majority of his social life), but he would never show it. and he'd prefer not to get personal with them and approach them (unless they need his help). he'd be constantly afraid of being too soft on them, so sometimes he could slightly raise his voice. and he would take grading students really seriously, because if he messed up, the guilt will take over him. everyone would respect him, some might be concerned because of how lonely he seems. also if the students in his class would have a controversy he'd prefer not to get involved unless things will get really out of hand
I feel like Xiao would be one of those teachers for the military programs in school. He just gives me those silent, intimidating vibes that I get from the military instructors.
I can also imagine him being super harsh on the kids, especially when they try to sit out or do something half-heartedly. He'd scream at them like, "THE FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY IS IN YOUR HANDS! STOP BEING A WEAK WUSS!" and then just like that, no one would ever disobey him again.
Thoma is a super nice preschool teacher whom the kids absolutely love, and the kids' moms have a crush on him
i feel like xiao gives off college philosophy professor that mostly teaches ethics & has some opinions people definitely consider *questionable* but he really challenges his students and they learn a lot so he's mostly well-liked

I'm a firm believer that diluc has a soft spot for children, so imagine him teaching with thoma and itto and like keeping itto in place and he's the one who "leads" at the work place. Diluc softly smiling at kids and comforting them if they get hurt

It's a lot easier to remember something you discovered yourself rather than was told, so I can completely understand why she'd do that. People who gave up before solving things probably weren't going to learn the material the traditional way anyways.
actually I feel like zhongli would surprise his students because how he's caught up with the trends and technology because of how curious he is about the modern society. some students might throw a joke on him (like a joke using slang) expecting him not to get it, but he gets it and comes up with the witty remark and those people would be embarrassed and shook af, because they were making fun of him or something. he'd be strict with assignments but they can't get mad at him, because it's clear to them that he does it not because he tries to be mean, but because how he believes in his students and really wants them to become responsible wise people. and he might get in a scandal because he accidentally called one of his students good girl/boyđ and the student could've felt creeped out, but he NEVER meant it. he might be perceived as supporting and caring teacher, but once somebody tries to befriend him, he won't let it, because of how professional he is. he can share his personal experience during the class but it would be directly about the topic and he wouldn't waste an entire class on it, because he takes it serious. he looks young but whenever somebody asks him about something he says: "Oh, about that... I've actually been there/know them/done that, and let me tell..." And everyone will be blown in their minds and think like: "What did that man not do in his life? It's like he's been there for at least millennia". But actually he just has a life full of events and manages to perfectly balance it with his job and no one knows how.
Beidou would be the gym teacher that you would run up to and have a handshake with and then she'd say to get to class
Tartaglia would definitely run around with the kids playing tag on the playground and if he took them to the park he'd definitely push the kids on the swing
Having the genshin daddys as a teacher would be like a holiday everyday lol(kayea would get fired for taking the students on a filed trip to the tavern lolđđ€Ł)
He's the teacher who's constantly toeing the line but not enough to really get in trouble, then once you come back from college and swing by to visit after school he takes you out drinking.

Childe is giving me all the students *adore* him and the parents Do Not Approve of this Miscreant around their children but ALSO they can't get rid of him because he's beloved. Ahh, Ningguang and shady things again, as is only fair. I feel like she's the fancy private school teacher. Ayato feels like the established teacher, like he and Zhongli have been working across the hall from each other for most of a decade.

I can imagine Zhongli as a teacher so well, just having monologues, telling a lot of stories, in his own little world... Often going off-topic and forgetting what he was supposed to be teaching about. You know, osmanthus wine and memories. Also, the type of teacher you can distract very easily, the lesson will end and he'll realize that he's just been talking about his youth or something for an hour. But he won't be angry, more like "oh well, time flies, but we had an enjoyable (one-sided) conversation".
I feel like Barbara might let the whole class watch a Disney movie in choir and she would sing along to the Disney songs with all the kids c: she could also substitute for Jean and she probably teaches bissnuss management! And Lisa probably teaches English and has a beautiful voice while she reads! And she has relaxing candles and she puts purple roses on everyoneâs desks and there all set up PERFECTLY ! OH OH ALSO VENTI JUST HAS A HOLE IN THE ROOF BECAUSE DVALIN JUST FLEW IN WHILE VENTI WAS PLAYING THE LYRE WHILE WATCHING THE DISNEY MOVIE also Lisa has a cat in her room for emotional support AND SHE SNUCK THE CAT IN TRYING TO PASS IT AS A THERAPY PET đ OH AND ZHONGLI HAS A ACTUAL THERAPY PET EXPECIALLY FOR XIAO! I feel like Xiao would be that teacher-in-training who leads a whole bunch of clubs (who doesn't actually wanna be there). Like self-defense, literature, whatever else. Everyone signs up for clubs knowing that he'll be the one leading them

Nahida I feel would be the fun teacher because she makes analogies about information to make it easier to understand or the analogies themselves are funny even if you dont get it but also crack jokes like the dook dook joke. She could also teach psycology and still be fun for the same reasons because she knows so much about the mind and makes things easier to comprehend.

I think Nahida could teach anything because of her wisdom and knowledge, and because she has really calming and happy personality she would be liked or loved by her students. Not to mention that she was also willing to help others so that makes her even more competent and better teacher
During the assemblies to hype up the kids, Childe would play dodgeball against the other teachers and annihilate them (and so the kids are terrified of the day where he's the gym substitute)

Personally I think Kokomi would be one of those gifted kid teachers that pulls out 5th to 4th grade students from their classes to do fun learning activities but while setting the class up she goes into an in-depth rant about how the school system sucks, pointing out all the flaws and literally everyone is invested and theyâre all there to watch her explain her âolden daysâ (when she was a general) and every student in the school likes her for her accidental relatability but the teachers have a slight grudge against her.

Iâm taking creative writing classes right now in college and I would absolutely take a writing course by Kazuha đ I love that man so freaking much and he would be so good at teaching âșïž
nahida would have a very progressive teaching method, not just infodumping people and expect them to learn it without a second thought, but actually make them UNDERSTAND. like even if her subject is advanced she would go back to basics and make people think again of it which will lead them to look at the entire stuff from a new perspective, gaining a whole new level of knowledge. at the start some people might get really annoyed of her because of how her teaching style is really not what they're used to, and they're kinda lazy to figure out stuff by themselves, but after they graduate she'd be the teacher they'll be most grateful towards, because things she taught them helped them at their working places the most. also some people could be slow or neurodivergent, but she'd find an individual approach for every student so noone would feel left out and give them personal tasks based on their skills and gradually increase the difficulty.
Honestly sounds like a dream come true if you ask me. I wish I had this kind of teacher when I was younger.
