What happened to the v10 Miata there haven't been any updates on it. Would love to see that project completed.
Glad you don't seem to be promoting scams anymore, keep it up.
Maybe they could supply some 5w30 for it ?
How many Paintings & sets of Silver did you guys find in the trunk?
óf course the underside is important to hammond.
he is lazy and will walk under the car instead of around it.
he will see that bit quite often.
The title is wrong. Should be Jaaaaaaaaaag.
No they got it right mate only Clarkson can employ the excess of aaaaaaa in jaaaaag
Terribly sorry about the title, but it’s OK because he’s got a jaaaaaaaaaag…
Maybe they'll add a couple of "a"s for every new episode 😁
Honest to, in my head it was. Had to look again to confirm it was only in my head.
How about Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...
...aaaag?
Nah too big. 🤣
If Alex felt a touch smug after the dyno I'd wager he's probably cackling away somewhere now.
Drivetribe got the shitboxes now.
@@VXGaming alex played his uno reverse card :')
THIS is what I was hoping Workshop was going to be like - us actually being able to see cars being restored. Great content, Drivetribe.
Completely agree. This is much better than "Meet the Hammonds" on Discovery+
@@curiousmatt I dont mind the "Meet the Hammonds", it is nice seeing the "home" life of these presenters we have had in our lives for decades.
Credits to Mike his presentation skills have grown massively since the beginning of Drivetribe!
2:04 I've never seen so much delight at the discovery of severe rust damage.
When it’s not your car it makes a difference.
What did you expect on that old jag
6” of extra tubing would have prevented that. Odd they would drill the window sill into the rocker panels.
For me part of the joy is that the big rust stain appears to be the product of a poor bodge job someone once did. It's definitely in the spirit of Hammond.
@@marclangman4836 The tube should pass through a home in the wheel liner. Unfortunately, they often get tucked inside it instead and drain into the inner wing causing the dreaded tin worn. Also, the strap that holds the rubber tube at the scuttle can become detached resulting in the same issue. When installed correctly it looks like an ok piece of design, but 3 decades of them all rusting in exactly the same spot strongly suggests that it's not!
I'm also mid-XK restoration and these videos make me feel less alone and less insane.
yo how’d it go id definitely go insane😅
@hovis_esports It's on the road! Still needs some paint on the hood and some electrical gremlins worked out, but did the timing chain myself and it wasn't too bad!
The finale should include @Autoalex Cars, his collaboration with drivetribe would be a fun one
Gotta say, it's such a calm and relaxing car resto video. Unlike the chaos we Americans are accustom too.
Totally agree.. way more enjoyable for me.
The impact gun segment editing is I think the perfect example of why DriveTribe exists. That segment would be interesting on TV, but here on CZcams? That kind of snappy, fun editing is honestly a part of the show. The DriveTribe team just.. gets it. I mean this genuinely, but you folks make some proper top-shelf stuff. Cheers.
Both of those Jags are awesome!!! But I absolutely LOVE that XJR!!!! GORGEOUS!!! Can't wait to see the final restoration!!!
Richard Looked like he was almost expecting to see rust ! 😁😁
Great to see the quality of these videos increasing with each one! Excited to see how project Jag developed, and the inevitable AutoAlex cross-over!
You're gonna want to hope that this is running 100% when we go head to head 🤓
Great editing on the synchronisation with the beat 3:09
Loving this series, great stuff, keep the episodes coming 👏
Would like to see some dry ice cleaning on the underside!
I'd love to get an old classic and take it to a place like this, but it won't be cheap, these guys are all masters of their craft and as such will be paid very well.
Great work. Worthy car, and great production value. Amazing to finally see the X100 XKR and X308 XJR getting some love.
FYI that is not actually rust. Before the last generation switched to Aluminium, all XJ panels were made of either compressed, hydrated Weetabix or a baked cheesecake base mix, depending on year of manufacture.
Wow! Two Jag resto's in the same weekend!!! Thank you.
I’m really enjoying watching these videos of the Jag.
Great wee video Scottie, can't wait for the next episode.
I have a 2003 XK8 as my daily. I'm really enjoying this series.
An amazing video Drivetribe, the production, camera work, presenting, content and everything is awesome Fabulous video, Many Thanks !!!! I also love Jags :)
Always worth restoring/saving these Jags, the driving experience is second to none & you can still pick them up for very little dosh.
I do love a video with an XJ in it, especially an XJR! Great video, looking forward to the next one.
As a person who uses liqui moly products in their business, I can wholeheartedly recommend them. Absolutely the best oil manufacturer on the market imho.
Great video, right up until the end where it appears the brake lines are releasing themselves onto the floor of the shop from the underside of the car
One of the reasons I enjoy the movie Memento is seeing that sweet xkr getting around.
I have a top tip for Richard...... I once did some work on my Ford Capri in the 80's wearing a flying suit like Richard's (I was RAF Aircrew), and too my horror I had sanded the wing with the zip down the front of my flying suit as I had been leaning on the wing! The wing needed a respray. Top Tip, get some proper overalls.
Loving this content being a jaaag man myself. Keep it up 👍
1:15 that montage music was spot on
Welcome to Jaaaaagland. Where everything isn't what it seems, depending on how deep you go 😄
Truck on.
🤟😎👍🚛🚛🚛
this man is living my dream of working with Richard, May and Clarkson
Thank you for the Jaaaaaaaaag content! 🙏🙏
Love the videos. I wish I could get the Workshop show in the States, but I haven't worked that out yet. I wish I had the money to do this to my 1972 Volvo 1800E. Maybe someday
I have spent thousands of hours working on this generation of jags particularly XK8's and I came to love working at them, they are a pain in many ways but oh boy are they rewarding when they are running well. I'd strongly recommend changing to Evans coolant jus to destress the cooling system.
I love all the Jag videos
video is on high level - love that brake fluid rain on the end :)
Richard already wins, the XJR looks so much better.
I really would like to see this with a host of tasteful performance upgrades for that ultra quick Q ship persona big Jags have.
Love the XJR it just a menacing looking thing
Thanks for the content Drivetribe👌🥳
Just love it when HALF an episode is a sponsored ad!!!
More videos like this, love it!
I really like the transmission flush machine!
same!
Get in touch with Liqui Moly to arrange the DEMO in your workshop 👍
Making the underside all nice for when Hammond puts it on its roof it looks great :)
A V8 doesn't necessarily need a separate air filter for each cylinder bank, so long as the one being shared is large enough.
Depending on firing order, intake capacity, resonance and flow rate a single can be beneficial.
Of course this is 90's Jaguar so its more likely it was to save costs and part count.
It's supercharged, the supercharger only has one intake
On a related note, BMW's M67 V8 diesels (3.9- and 4.4-litre) used one intake manifold for all eight cylinders (M67D40's looked like a spider, M67D44's was more curvaceous), fed by both turbochargers (one per bank).
Awesome content as always, keep it up guys!💯
Long live old school Jaaaaaaaaaaags.
Need some hose clamps for those dripping brake lines at the end there 😬
I haven't been watching for a while. For a second there, I skimmed through the title and thought it was about that lovely Mark X 420G that he destroyed.
this is really nice episode
Best part about this Jag is room for the golf clubs in the boot and the silver that Richard will take when he visits someone in it.
I still drive my Jaguar XKR, it requires a lot of maintenance, love and care
I feel like I was watching a music video for half of it. Loved the "pop" noise when the body clip pops off!
Richard. I’m in Jag heaven
Air filter from out of the back of the hoodie was pretty deft, nice one :D
great content
seen a couple of those jags with rusted out chassis legs midway at the front in line with the shocks
Buenísimo....regards from Spain....!!!
Enjoying the DriveTribe content, keep it up!
From a mile away it´s looks just fine. No problems at all....
I really liked that video and will keep watching them it's brilliant how a car is made bit by bit and all makes sense
It’s a Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag
Love your work 👍
Great video! Loving these Jaaaaag resto's. I've been looking at XJRs myself. Wondering if the dynamic range of the audio can be adjusted. When you are speaking I have to turn the ear buds up. Then the music comes on and I'm blasted out trying to find the volume button on my left ear to turn it down. Still enjoy and will keep watching. Thanks!
Well, thats not gone Well.
And I also love how there is German lettering on some of those canisters :)
Great video, should have been in Richard's show. After seeing the initial bad rust at the front of the sills and the inner arches (typical X300/X308 rot trap), I actually expected the floors and rear subframe section to look worse. I'd look carefully at the outer sills, the thick textured underseal is not from the factory and may hide more sins. You will find soft spots on the outer font sill. More than likely the bottom portion of the front wings are rotten. Here is my Jag X300/X308 rust guide. czcams.com/video/N5tud8l2U_Y/video.html Fortunately the chassis outriggers are solid or else it would have already collapsed off the lift. The floor can start to rot just above the outriggers though so have a look inside and be careful. There are signs of neglect in places all over the car. Look at the uneven wear on the passenger side rear tyre for example. The tyres are also very old. Important to note there is a coolant hose running right along the top of the engine. That is wrong and clearly a bodged repair. It almost looks like someone has bypassed a section of the cooling system. I would look into that cooling hose situation becuase it could be masking a bigger problem. I recommend replacing all the timing chains and tensioners and guides unless they are documented as being replaced already. Original timing chain tensioners are all plastic and disintegrate. Gearbox service is important, glad you highlighted it.
I just recently watched guy opening 4.6 V8 cobra engine and especially how the coils are held by that little cover makes me think that those engines must be similar if not the same
its a Jaaaaggg!!!
Merry Christmas Gents!
The Jaguar ‘arrrr nooo’ XJR
Still a fan of that XJR
Love this build 👍
Looks like you need a proper Fabby to fix the sheet metal in the footwell area, well I’m ready to fly out and take care of that for you I’m only in the Northern California wine Country so it would not cost you that much to fly me out there and I will bring some wine when I come! Be more than happy to help.
I like these videos, so glad there’s no product placement.
Would love to work with Richard hammond...he is so awesome!
It's a jaaaaaaag !!!
See you in Ep.3!
Fun series! But from watching car channels from Japan they for sure have big issues with rust. Plenty of videos at the car auctions where wheel wells are just coated.
Curious why you didn't change the supercharger oil. It's very typical to see even the stealerships omit this from a service.
Me: *expecting precise measurement of engine flush*
Mike: "A can and a bit"
The first 5 seconds is me any time I do literally anything.
hope you're doing the timing chain tensioners, they are prone to fail. as beautiful as these jags are and i have had them all my life, unfortunately the build quality is poor. i have a similar model to this, Daimler super V8 and they couldn't even be bothered to paint the inside of the wings. and i have the same welding to do as you have. still love em though, i just have to do to them what jaguar failed to do to get them right.
Project JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG!
I don't know what a Jag is. I only know Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaags. 🤣🖤
Those steal toe cap white kicks in workshop 😂
I like how the brake lines are dripping at the end of the video.
I think if your doing a series on Hammond's xjr, you should really have Richard Porter on as well.
Pretty much what I did to mine a few months ago… just that transmission flush needed … my 98 s reg done 76k what was the mileage on this ?
In this one video Mike has said Hweel, Hwack, and Hwip. That's a triple stack of Scot words.
Love the presenter so happy...😍😍🥰
Mike Fernie wearing PUMPS in the Workshop? Health & safety surely
Will you be giving it a dry ice clean on the underside?
captain evo-wrecker would have a field-day.
Waiting for the next one. Great content this one.
❤️❤️❤️VIDEO EDITING ❤️❤️❤️
Heard Richard's BMW 850CI from season 17 is still going and has yet to develop a fault!
Such a shame about the rust. Was the end of my second xk8. Ps some mint bbs detroits on popular flea shop I'll do a deal for you
