    chauncey was the reason they got to the WCF, when they replaced AI he brought in the correct mindset and leadership to get those guys real far.

    Couldn’t agree with Melo more about the social media thing and if that Denver team was around today. Those players alone, if they were in this era, would’ve made Denver into a big market.

      I agree. I forgot about all those cast of characters and if social media was as big as it is today then, that team would’ve had a lot more pub . I enjoyed watching that team at that time . They could score with the best of them especially when they had Melo and A.I. , but they couldn’t stop anyone . Their best chance probably was 2009 when they got Chancey Billups , but they ran into Kobe and that was it for that . I am glad JJ Reddick brought that team up because that is a forgotten team in history. Love his podcast. Great interview .

    I've been a fan of Melo since he was in Syracuse, I remember the Denver years more than the Knicks years. That team was really good but injuries always held them back. Camby, Nene, KMART, one big was always hurt. Melo was his best in Denver too.

    Shoutout Melo. Still easily one of my favorite players ever. Became a fan of the game the night we drafted him. And even Melo himself said people really don’t know Denver Melo. Dude straight was a monster on offense. You can count on the guy to make the game winning shot. He was just amazing to watch. Wish he played a little harder on defense but that 09 team was amazing. You gotta know the coaching styles of these coaches. The last time I remember seeing him revert back was when he waved off kobe for that last shot when he was on the lakers.       Facts for me somewhat. I always saw basketball/espn because of my dad (from like 99-2005) and really started watching it in 2006. Then I really started following heavy with Trades, Seedings, Rosters and such in 2009 or whenever it was LeBrons final year in Cleveland.

    That 2009 Denver team was a monster. So close to being champions. Wish Melo never left Denver. Denver traded to many great pieces away back then. Glad to see them making noise again.

    I don’t care what anybody says, as a lifelong Nuggets fan I will always have love for Carmelo! He’s the one that got me into basketball in the first place and I don’t understand the hate he still gets in Denver, it makes me really sad.

      Exactly me too! The Nuggets were never good in my lifetime before Melo came to town, and they proceeded to make 7 straight playoff appearances. People hate him for the way he left, but I will always appreciate his time there.

    Ive seen lebron, dwight, melo, duncan, Parker, ginobli, and many others live in their prime. Chauncey billups was the most memorable player I watched, the way he used angles was like nothing else i have seen

    Chauncey first year in Denver was like Chris Paul's first year in Houston they were both high iq point guards who can change the tempo,run proper plays and help the lesser scorers on the team while letting the star player have the greenlight at times while also making sure they don't go too much overboard
