    Nice work! Raw linseed oil is my favorite for stuff like this too.

      Thanks! It's the best finish. I also beeswaxed them off camera.

    Nice work dude, but could you tell me why you cut several slats instead of making it in one pice? Just for the patterns? Would not be stronger a single piece than several slats? Thanks for sharing

    Nice work mate, just curious did you wet your boards down after the first sanding

      Hey thanks, I might have, normally I do that with wood like cherry or maple. But normally I find that the boards get a little rough after the first few uses, but break in and smooth out after a while.

    Beautiful work. I’m curious, could you use a router on the edge.

      @beauthetford7608  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks! I did router the edges with a chamfer bit, very minorly.

      @@beauthetford7608: I’m glad to here that cause doing all that sanding and shaping by hand can drive a man to insanity. 😂🤣

    Very nice! But their side grain. The end grain is where you see the year rings of a tree. Non the less, nice!

      Thank you! They're edge grain, also called side grain!

      He never said they were end grain. It clearly says edge grain which is what they are.

    Lovely, but! I can see point of END grain, the cutting on almost closes the cut after, but not edge grain, please enlighten me

    • @beauthetford7608
      @beauthetford7608  Před 2 lety

      There's no real point, other than the pretty reflective patterns that appear in edge grain
