    I've been in the repair business for 42 years. My current company has excellent documentation for their hardware. Looks like Ford does as well. I appreciate that your job isn't always finding what it is, but what it isn't through fault isolation procedures. You have to be the benchmark for Ford, and for 6.7 owners. If you were just more geographically desirable, you would be taking care of my '21 and my BIL's '11. Instead I watch you, and give it my best shot... Drained and refilled power steering fluid just this AM from tips in another video.

    Im an Electrician/Avionics tech on airplanes and chaffed wiring is a very common problem. There have been some really interesting areas to crawl into to repair some wiring. Sometimes best to just run a whole new wire than to mess with repairing it.

    I don't know what Ford was doing when making these trucks. I found multiple pinch points where I had to move wiring bundles. I kept have sensor problems. The last straw was replacing the first sensor 3 times with the same code coming back. I figured I was looking at the connector side. Then on one fateful trip, stuff fell off and my problems went away.

  • @dnf2004
    @dnf2004 Před 4 lety +3

    If you don’t succeed at getting it out of idle only mode that way, i have been able to get it to clear by doing an injector cleaning procedure or manual regen and then letting it idle for a few minutes after the process. One way of getting around having to cold soak it.

    When my 2016 had its dpf and egr “fall off” a connector was left open and hanging down, took awhile but eventually it corroded our from getting road salt sprayed on it under the truck, caused a whole range of DTCs ranging from glowplug module failure to the fan clutch not working properly. Eventually I realized what was going on and snipped the bad wire, sealed it and all the problems went away. Thought it was interesting though at the time, so if anyone’s dpf and egr falls off, make sure you you secure all the connectors properly

    Try chasing wires on a 2019Day cab T-880 Kenworth dump truck with 4700 miles onit with a hydro dump body and it goes into DERATE because some guy that put it together on a Friday wanted to get home to party. NOX NOX NOX NOX this....NOX that....nope wire had worn though the SCR bracket and was such a tiny fray that the only reason it got caught was because the tech got a shock when he went to pull out from under the truck and happned to grab the area it was at... EMISSIONS are the reason we still have work to do....

      @@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Yea..quality control at its finest. I can guarantee that if emissions was done away with or relaxed even back to 2010 standards, truck would run better, get way better mileage and not break down as much. I have untold amounts of horror stories from truck drivers about them not being able to control when a truck will go in regen or derate, some end in lose of life. all because of that stupid DPF, SCR or urea system making the choice and not the driver. Pulling a load of supplies up or down a hill...guess what truck wants to do a regen and you just lost 85% of your power or worse YOUR GOING DOWN THE HILL OR MOUNTAIN AND YOU CANT GET MORE THEN 5% power....

    Hello PTT... I'm working on a 2015 F350 Pick up Truck I'm attempting to do the procedure to get it out of forced idle and the injector never comes into a duty cycle at all, the line stays flat, I don't have any trouble codes, following the instructions of the TSB 14-0192 doesn't do any good, the injector never goes into cycle after 90 seconds or more of the idling time and all of the readings of temperatures and pressures are right on the money, but when I have it in park and the engine good and warm and I hold it at 2500 RPMs after a few minutes I can see the injector working normally with nice square waves... the only thing I can not do is the reprogramming of the PCM...
