Barrie, your reviews/sales videos are very enjoyable even though I'm not looking to buy anything at the moment. I have to say I find your annoyance at poorly stamped service books and poor driving by others hilarious and cracks me up (keep it up).

the service book thing sends me absolutely ballistic, and the drivers in Preston shouldn't be on the road, but more importantly thanks for watching :-)

Barrie After Driving SAAB Aeros for over 20 years I'm thinking of joining the Darkside with an A4TDI
i've Decided that the TFSI is out and it'll be a diesel model 2.0tdi or 3.0tdi.
Having never driven either I'm leaning towards the 3.0tdi as the 2.0 on paper doesn't appear to have the performance that I get from my SAAB aero?
Other than the Cheaper Tax and Slightly better fuel economy is there a reason to go for the 2.0.
    I.e cheaper maintainance reliability?
Or is the 3.0tdi a no brainer when comparing the 2 models
I'm assuming there is a pretty noticable performance difference between the 2.0 and 3.0?

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  Před 3 lety

the 3.0 litre is a beautiful engine for sure but to be honest, there arent a whole lot of place where you can get the benefit from the engine power, you just use more fuel and pay more insurance to go as fast as you could in a 2.0, although i have to say that it does feel better in the 3.0

      Thanks for that insight.
I totally agree that there isn't the roads to match the cars performance potential.
For me I like the extra power as you are then not at the mercy of other drivers lack of courtesy as I feel I am when I drive my wifes diesel scenic.

I have a 3.0tdi Quattro and can honestly say the performance is outstanding and drove it from Exeter to Stranraer a few weeks ago the fuel economy matches my 2.0tdi unless you have some fun then like anything it's going to suffer but 4wd and plenty of torque is the best car I've ever owned and always puts a smile on my face go for a well specd one with the bang and olfsun sound system as its also quality but the engine sounds great on its own

Lol i ended up getting a 2.0 TDI quattro as one came up as an absolute steal for the age and milage 1 owner FSH from Audi.
I went off the 3.0 when discovered how much it cost to repair the timing chain when the tensioners go bad ( which is when rather than if)
Have to admit still regret not getting a 3.0TDI but as it is, I only really drive it to work
And the road consists of a dual carrigeway with average speed cameras and a country lane where anything over 50 is unadvisable.

i own a b8 with 2.0tfsi which has been the bane of my wallet . im thinking of changing to a 3.0 tdi and was searching for reviews , only one that mattered was this , utterly complete no half ass !
