People still do "premium buffets" of all food types. The most common of course being East Asian Buffets, and the "premium" treatment gets you access to half shell oysters, freshly cooked steak, sushi, etc.

Shoneys was it ! I Remember me and my cousins when we were kids took a road trip with my aunts. We stopped at a hotel and they had shoneys next door. It was all you could eat breakfast. When I tell you we got an infinite amount of bacon alone , with pancakes. It was heaven !
