  • Hey Coaster Fanatics, Today I'm bringing you a POV of The Demon Drop. The Intamin Freefall Ride at Dorney Park and originally operated at Cedar Point. It has a max height of 131 feet with a drop of 60 feet and a top speed of 55 mph. It is a very fun and unique attraction that I definitely recommend riding. Enjoy the ride. I love to see vintage rides still operating like this. The clunky noises, the rusty look give a unique feel to these attractions, it even makes them scarier imo :o

it makes me feel good to see it still around and at a great park to boot.

I wish there was still more of these first generation Intamin freefalls around.

Thank you very much for this video! I especially appreciate how you show the full cycle, including the return mechanism. Always wondered how that worked as a kid but it was always hidden from view at the amusement park where I used to go to (Galaxyland in Edmonton, Canada).

Rode this so many times as a kid. Was always a great one for not having excitement/wait ratio. A couple fun things we always did were putting a dime on our knee and catching it mid-air on the drop, and then after the ride I (as a kid mind you) would sweep my hand under the seats to take all the change that had fallen out of people's pockets to take and play skeeball. Those were the days..

Bring it back. I'm 52 and we have gone every year in my lifetime. This was my favorite!

I was wearing my Demon Drop shirt at Cedar Point and one of the Millennium Force ops asks me "Demon Drop.. is that a metal band or something?"

Demon drop (cedar point) has a special place in my heart. It was my 1st trill ride. My Dad told me, if you can get the quarter on his knee, mid drop, I wouldn't have to go on the Gemini or any others coaster..... I miss the 1\4 and had the time of my life and still riding them.

I remember riding this at Cedar Point so clearly - it's weird to see this view of it looking out at Not-Power-Tower and Not-Wicked-Twister!

Man these types of drop towers were just epically awesome. Wish they'd start making them again, miss the "Stuntman's Freefall" at Six Flags Great Adventure so much. It's also so different from just being risen up and dropping or being air shot, think these could use a come back. Always felt way taller too the way it worked.

I'm thrilled to see this is still operating. I thought it was scrapped when it left Cedar Point. One of my favorites!

Good video! I kinda miss it when it was at CP. Never got the chance to ride it since I first went in 2010, one year after it got removed.
