    He throws a lot of arm punches, doesn't turn his hips, moves like a heavyweight. But his accuracy, distance management, and timing are very good, and I think he is excellent at picking the right moment to put his weight behind a punch

    • @monkebrainedfish3130
      @monkebrainedfish3130 Před 2 lety +115

      Exactly, those arm punches serve a purpes tho
      He can throw alot of combinations without over extending which makes countering less effective
      He can throw punches from akward angles making blocking less effective and making countering even harder because you are not used to this style of combat
      He is also preserving alot of stamina by throwing arm punches
      Once the opponent gets tired which means that they will only block and not attempt to counter, then he will start turning his hips and putting in more power
      What impreses me the most about Nick is how effortless it looks when he is throwing those combinations from weird angles, from my experience it is hard to keep your balance intact while throwing combinations from such angles

      Another thing I have noticed about Nate is how he has remarkable hand eye coordination and precision striking. Every time he punches his opponent his punches almost always land on the face or an organ on the body, even if he were to punch softly his targeting is so good that it doesn't take much force to put a guy down.

      Facts in Diaz v Denny you can see that happen exactly like you said. They trade the whole time but Diaz is way more accurate and takes the punches like they're nothing. Then right before the fight ends Diaz puts his hands up in victory like he does, and you can see Denny smile and basically give up through the whole next flurry. He knew he was done and he just accepted it. Crazy aggressive mind games from Diaz

      The craziest thing about it was that Diaz submitted three samples. One before the fight and two after. The first and third cleared WADA accredited labs but oh the second one tested positive in a non-WADA accredited lab with all three tests within hours of each other. That test stated that Nick had 5 times the threshold of the legal limit. That's physiologically impossible; for him to go from 733ng/ml to less than 150ng/ml from 10:38pm to 11:55pm in the second and third test. So as we all know, the Athletic commission just shat on him cause they could and cause they hate him. MFckers.

    Years ago being younger I didn’t fully understand the different categories of fighting like jiu-jitsu, taekwondo, boxing, wrestling, judo, Muay Thai, etc. Nick was clearly gifted at boxing and easily intimidated a lot of UFC fighters and exposed a majority of the UFC roster as fake roided out fighters. I have no problem believing believe Dana and the other two brothers that own the UFC (Furtido brothers?) probably didn’t like Nick, knew he smoked weed, went to commission and said change of plans no more THC allowed in your system during fights, got him suspended and said good riddance. It’s so sad, and borderline criminalistics. On the other hand, they would have lost tons of money from not having him in their fights or promotions......either way I feel for Nick and hope he is blessed with money and health

    Nick hits 20 punches before you hit 1 good one, and that one good punch equals 3-4 of his consistent punches. He is not swinging hard, simply using his own momentum from his teqniques. Ahead of his time, even stil today. People are thinking nate is weak, but the knowledge and skills they carry out with their attacks, is more efficient that 40% of all the strikes you throw against them.
    Ofc nowdays, fighters have more knowledge and have people behind them with solid teqniques.

    Nick destroys the opponent in a stand, and later forces him to give up from a painful one - the ideal layout of the fight

    This is a never ending present I've been there for him and Nate since day one. The og and the better of the two. This is a service to the younger guys that couldn't be around for Nick's prime.

    The best fighter I've ever seen in mixed martial arts. Words couldn't explain it. You'd need a SD card to store all that's great about the Diaz brothers.
