  • I tried the Autozone Sylvania ZEVO's but the ambers were two different colors and the white reverse lights were not much brighter than the factory halogen bulbs.
    So I went to LASFIT and picked up some quality LED replacements. Links below to the bulbs I used here.

    Very nice! Keep up the content Knight's Garage. Being turbo, I bet a tune would open her up.

    Saw your blog post on ExplorerST forum. Thank you for making your videos as I find them very helpful with my own 2022 ST projects!!! I attempted to find the same back-up/turn signal lights from Lasfit’s website, yet the rep said they only go up to 2010 on the ST? Do you happen to have the part numbers or URL you used to purchase from? Much appreciated!
    Do you have the part info

      It’s because in the new year models, it shows as the tail lights being full LED and we all know they are not. I have links to the bulbs I used in the description of the video. Can’t remember the exact bold number they are but they’re listed in the description.

      3157 is the turn signal and 7440 is the reverse lights.

      No problem. Canbus one = resistors built-in. and non Canbus or regular is no resistor. I used the no resistor one because I have forescan.

      @@KnightsGarage What if I don’t have forescan? can I still use those bulbs you’ve replaced? or gotta get one with Built-in Canbus ?
      Mine also Explorer 2021. Thank you

    I ask because I have seen others replace turn signal lights with LEDS and the resistor is attached on the same wire.

    It looks good but you know what mod i would do first on the explorer? The exhaust tips that are fake

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  Před rokem

      True. I’m looking at the Borla S-Type. I don’t want it too loud or shitty sounding. Also don’t want to spend a couple hundred bucks just for tips.

    Do I need to get the forscan tool if I’m just changing out the reverse lights to LED?

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  Před rokem +1

      No. The reverse lights don’t flash. They should be good to go!

    Did the LED turn signal bulbs not need resistors so they won’t flash fast?

    Do you get a bulb out error?

    • @KnightsGarage
      @KnightsGarage  Před rokem +2

      The bulb out warming on these newer explorers is just the indicator on the dash rapid flashing. The actual signal will flash normal no matter what.
      I talk about the can buss version of these bulbs in the video in case you don’t have access to forscan. Also have both sets linked in the description.
      Short answer to your question is no.
